Race 1: Shade & Security Class 1 H'cap - 1100m
1st – Danzaction 2nd – Status King 3rd – Lapetus 4th – Top Puss
Due to a misprint in the racebook, M. Heagney was shown as the rider of WARRANT when in fact K. Wharton was the declared rider for that gelding.
ADANGERTOHIMSELF (T. Huxham) was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, CHECK THE CHIPS (O. Turpin) was tightened for room between EL CONDE (I. Coombes) and DANZACTION (C. Priest), both of which shifted ground.
Near the 200m, LAPETUS (K. Gates) was obliged to shift to the inside of GOLD DOWN UNDER (P. Hammersley) in order to improve.
METHODICAL hung out throughout. Trainer L. White was advised that an official warning would be placed on the horse regarding it racing manners.
STATUS KING (B. Wallace), ADANGERTOHIMSELF, METHODICAL and TOP PUSS (C. Munce) all raced wide throughout.
Race 2: Firetek Solution Maiden H'cap - 1100m
1st – Dark Warrior 2nd – Grimhild’s Revenge 3rd – Chik Chik Bang 4th – Joy’s Spirit
Trainer D. Bell was advised that an official warning would be placed on LA KIRRA, which proved very difficult to load into the barriers.
BENJI BULLET (K. Pope) began very awkwardly and shifted in, tightening CHIK CHIK BANG (N. Thomas) on to MR GIFFORD (D. Tanti). In this incident, the saddle on BENJI BULLET shifted back, placing him at a severe disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
GRIMHILD’S REVENGE (C. Munce) overraced during the early stages, and near the 700m had to be steadied after improving up on to the heels of LA KIRRA (P. Hammersley).
Near the 500m, LA KIRRA (P. Hammersley) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of MR GIFFORD (D. Tanti).
BENJI BULLET (K. Pope), DARK WARRIOR (T. Huxham) and CHIK CHIK BANG (N. Thomas) all raced wide throughout.
Race 3: Noosa Civic TAB Class 3 Plate – 1600m
1st – Roctonic 2nd – Montefalco 3rd – Real Grand 4th - Fame
Due to a misprint in the racebook, M. Heagney was shown as the rider of REAL GRAND when in fact K. Wharton was the declared rider for that gelding.
FAMOUS CRY (B. Richardson), BLOODHOUND (B. Stewart) and LAUREN’S HALO (B. Hull) were all slow to begin.
In the early part of the straight, FAME (B. Looker) was inclined to lay in under pressure.
Race 4: Kawana Hardware & Garden Class 1 H'cap m
1st – Navillus Picall 2nd – Aracingwewillgo 3rd –Piccali 4th - Christark
Due to a misunderstanding, M. Wood was notified as the rider of LADY PEMM. B. Richardson was substituted as the rider of that mare.
DUVIVIER (C. Eaton) was slow to begin.
BAG THE PROFIT (O. Turpin) and DUVIVIER (C. Eaton) raced wide throughout.
Near the 200m, ARACINGWEWILLGO (M. Hellyer) shifted to the outside of PICCALI (P. Schmidt) to improve.
ARACINGWEWILLGO was inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 100m.
C. Eaton, rider of DUVIVIER, was fined $200 for using her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m in a forehand manner.
Following the race, B. Wallace reported that GIVEMECHILLS felt sore in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of GIVEMEMCHILLS failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 5: Boss Building Maintenance Maiden Plate - 1400m
1st – Mecca Bah 2nd – Moon Lady 3rd – Miss Sanctity 4th – Plain Mary
MORINGA’S SUNDANCE, which was kicked in the enclosure by another runner, was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and cleared to start.
UNLUCKYFORSUM (O. Turpin) began awkwardly and shifted out, hampering NORTHERN TRAVELLER (P. Schmidt).
MORINGA’S SUNDANCE (M. Morris) began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping BELAGO (K. Sawyers).
GUNSHIP (B. Looker) and KALINGA ECHO (B. Richardson) bumped on jumping away.
NORTHERN TRAVELLER (P. Schmidt) overraced during the early and middle stages.
MISS SANCTITY (K. Pope) and MECCA BAH (C. Munce) raced wide throughout.
P. Hammersley, rider of MOON LADY, was cautioned for raising his whip arm above shoulder height.
Apprentice B. Richardson was reprimanded for failing to weigh in 5th on KALINGA FLASH when required to do so.
Race 6: Secure Access It QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1400m
1st – Not A Lady 2nd – Nastro Blu 3rd – Exquisite Diamond 4th – Winning Again
Trainer W. Baker was advised that an official warning would be placed against WINNING AGAIN, which proved difficult to load into the barriers.
NOT A LADY (K. Wharton) was slow to begin.
BADBOYCURTIS (S. Drake) was slow into stride.
NASTRO BLUE (B. Looker) laid in under pressure in the home straight.
EXQUISITE DIAMOND (B. Richardson) raced wide for the majority of the event.
D. Gill, rider of BOOM SAGA, was reprimanded for using her whip 6 occasions prior to the 100m mark in a forehand manner.
A post-race veterinary examination of IVANAVINALOT, which compounded in the home straight, revealed the filly to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Stable representative for trainer J. Thompson was advised that he must provide the veterinary clearance for the filly, including the results of an ECG, and that IVANAVINALOT must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
