Supplementary Report
Due to continuing rain, the meeting was transferred to the cushion track at scratching time this morning. As a result, the distance of Race 3 was changed from 1200m to 1100m and Race 7 from 1200m to 1100m.
As M. Speers and K. Matheson were indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
Race 1: RCQ Class 1 H'cap – 1400m
Following an application from trainer S. O’Dea, permission was granted for HOLD FOR RANSOM to race in pacifiers following the transfer to the cushion track.
Leaving the 1200m, KAHAANI (S. Bogenhuber) had to be restrained to avoid the heels of MISS SMOKE (M. Morris), which was steadied and shifted in and away from the heels of A TAD APART (A. Coome), which shifted in whilst steadying the pace. Following this incident, KAHAANI shifted wider on the track and raced wide from that point onwards and overraced for a short distance. A. Coome, rider of A TAD APART, was reprimanded for his actions in this incident. M. Morris, rider of MISS SMOKE, was reprimanded for the standard of his evidence.
A. Holt, rider of the 4th placegetter, was severely reprimanded for offensive language on return to scale.
Race 2: Hot 91.1 Class 4 H'cap – 1400m
Following an application from trainer P. Jenkins, permission was granted for LOVINGTHELIMELIGHT to race in pacifiers following the transfer to the cushion track.
As E. Wilkinson was unable to fulfil his engagement on LOVINGTHELIMELIGHT and M. Speers the replacement rider was injured when riding at Eagle Farm today, A. Taylor was substituted as the rider of LOVINGTHELIMELIGHT.
GUFFAW (G. Killen) was very slow to begin.
STYLE MUSIC (G. Goold) overraced in the early stages. BEAUX STRATA (A. Coome), which was following, also overraced during the early and middle stages.
CHIEF BRIGHT STAR (M. Morris) raced wide throughout.
Leaving the 1100m, STIGORI (S. Bogenhuber) commenced to overrace and became awkwardly placed between REVITALISE (A. Holt) and LOVINGTHELIMELIGHT (A. Taylor) and as a result shifted in, making contact with the hind quarters of REVITALISE and had to be steadied. Following this incident, STIGORI overraced until the 800m.
HI JO SILVER (S. Lanigan) hung out rounding the home turn, forcing both STYLE MUSIC and LOVINGTHELIMELIGHT wider on the track.
S. Lannigan (HI JO SILVER) and BEAUX STRATA (A. Coome), riders of the equal 4th placegetters, were each fined $200 for failing to ride their mounts right out to the finish of the race.
Race 3: Yalumba Wines Class 2 H'cap – 1100m
SHOW US A SMILE (A. Holt) was slow to begin.
LITTLE ANTICS (A. Coome) was tightened for room at the start between BON TEMPS (A. Spinks) and STRATUMOTOR (A. Taylor), which jumped away awkwardly and as a result lost ground.
EDDIE (G. Killen) raced wide throughout the race.
A post-race veterinary examination of SAMMYLOU failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

EDDIE lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 4: Pelican Waters Golf Club Class 1 H'cap – 1000m
HARD NUT TO CRACK (G. Killen) began awkwardly and shifted out, hampering NOBODY’S BOY (K. Wharton), which lost ground.
Approaching the 800m, LITTLE ELVIS (T. Jeffries), which was overracing, had to be steadied from the heels of BUDDY ROCKS (A. Taylor).
HARD NUT TO CRACK hung out from the 800m onwards and as a result raced wide. Trainer K. Walker was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its racing manners.
A. Allen, rider of NAVY CHIC, was disappointed for a run approaching the 300m between LITTLE ELVIS and DESTINY’S ANGEL (S. Bogenhuber) and then was reluctant to shift out despite the efforts of its rider until approaching the 200m, at which point the filly obtained clear running.
A. Allen, rider of NAVY CHIC, was reprimanded for using his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
Race 5: XXXX QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate - 1000m
CHARGE ACHAR (J. Morris) was slow to begin and was then checked between NEXT MINUTE (M. Morris) and SHUKHIA (A. Allen), which was taken in by CHASING THE DRAGON (G. Goold).
A short distance later, NEXT MINUTE had to be steadied when tightened for room between SWEET AND SAVAGE (N. Evans) and SHUKHIA (A. Allen), which continued to shift in.
After passing the 800m, SHUKHIA hung out for some distance and lost ground before forcing CHARGE ACHAR wider. CHARGE ACHAR then raced wide for the remainder of the event.
A post-race veterinary examination of CHARGE ACHAR revealed the filly had bowed off fore tendon. Trainer C. Lavin was advised that a veterinary clearance must be presented for CHARGE ACHAR prior to its next race start.
Race 6: Reed Property Group Maiden H'cap – 1600m
DIAMOND CREEK (S. Bogenhuber) overraced during the early stages and at a point near the 1200m had to be steadied away from the heels of FORT CONSTANTINE (A. Spinks).
A. Allen, rider of GRAND MARNIER, dropped his whip near the 300m.
C. Maund, rider of THE BETTER HARV, reported to stewards at no stage did the filly travel comfortably and was under pressure to hold its position after passing the 1000m and he was at a loss to explain the performance. Trainer T. Sears could not explain the performance and advised that he would report to stewards the results of a post race blood test. A post-race veterinary examination of THE BETTER HARV failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. A swab sample was taken from THE BETTER HARV.
Race 7: Sky Racing Maiden H'cap – 1100m
A. Holt, rider of LATCHY, was reprimanded for failing to weigh out in a timely manner.
MY LITTLE MACHINE (G. Goold) was slow to begin.
LATCHY (A. Holt) jumped away awkwardly and made contact with SANDBAR JACK (T. Jeffries).
LATCHY raced wide throughout.
