The Wolverine – Due to transport difficulties T Wolfgram was replaced by A Sewell. Slow to begin. Rider A Sewell reported that his mount was unable to muster early pace and would benefit from a step up in distance.

Izara's Dream – Slow to begin. Over-raced and had to be checked from heels approaching the 1100m before shifting wider and racing wide from that point onwards.

Rebel Leader – Rider N Fazackerly reported that his mount raced greenly throughout and hung out when rounding the home turn.

Race 3: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 2000 metres

Serenade The Cat – Stewards questioned Jockey T Brooker regarding the tactics adopted from the 1200m until approaching the 900m, when she elected to restrain her mount to allow TYCOON PLAYER to cross to the lead, which then resulted in her mount being held up and taken back through the field when TYCOON PLAYER commenced to weaken badly from the 700m. Jockey Brooker explained that it had been her intension to allow TYCOON PLAYER to cross to the lead and then shift her mount away from the fence and race to the outside of that runner, however at a point near the 1000m JETT AUSTIN improved quickly to the outside of her mount and she was then unable to shift wider. Jockey Brooker further added that in hindsight she would have been better served in allowing her mount to stride and attempt to maintain the lead, which would have ensured clear running throughout the event. Stewards found that whilst they agreed that Jockey Brooker had made an error in judgement in allowing TYCOON PLAYER to cross her mount at the relevant point of the event and that she would have been better served in allowing her mount to stride at that point, they could not be satisfied that her decision to steady her mount was so unreasonable to hold her culpable under the rules and took no further action.

Found The Mark – Bumped heavily and forced wider near the 600m.

Evrynow'n'then – Held up for clear running from the 700m before shifting out in an attempt to improve, making heavy contact with FOUND THE MARK and then obliged to check from heels near the 500m when unable to secure clear running. Rider S Apthorpe was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii)

Tycoon Player – Raced wide during the early stages before improving to the lead near the 1100m.

Day To Favour – Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 600m.
