Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. SPIRIT OF ZAZOU – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. TOKYO FRIENDS – On entering the saddling enclosure was kicked on the offside shoulder by another runner, underwent a veterinary examination, and was cleared start. EMMY REGINA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after sustaining abrasions to both hips when being transported to the track. GREY INFERNO – Slow to begin. REALISED – Rider S Cormack reported the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer A Chau advised the horse had been diagnosed a Grade 4 roarer and under these circumstances was advised REALISED must obtain a veterinary clearance including the results of a satisfactory endoscopic examination prior to its next race start. Trainer A Chau was further reminded of his obligations to report to Stewards such veterinary conditions earlier than on this occasion. STREET CAUSE – Began awkwardly. Raced four wide for the majority of the event. Race 2: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1400 metres DARING BELLE – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. SAFEEYA – Rider S Collett reported the horse failed to handle the synthetic track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than slight muscle soreness in both hindquarters. QUEEN LEAR – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Leaving the 200m had to be steadied from the heels of the tiring SAFEEYA before shifting out to obtain clear running. Race 3: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1600 metres CONFUSION – Raced wide for the majority of the event. TINTINWIN (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.Z Lloyd, rider of TINTINWIN, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. RESET'S SON – J Taylor, rider of RESET’S SON, had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 19th March up to and including 26th March 2022 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on nine occasions prior to the 100m, four more than permitted. PITTSBURGH PHIL – Taken inwards near the 300m when TINTINWIN shifted in under pressure. C Small, rider of PITTSBURGH PHIL, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. RECALL EVENTS – After being slow to begin failed to muster speed in the early stages. Race 4: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1600 metres JELLISHOT – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. LUCKY EXCHANGE – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. J Orman, rider of LUCKY EXCHANGE, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.CHICAMO – Raced wide for the majority of the event. R Fradd, rider of CHICAMO, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted. GO MILLO – J Murphy, rider of GO MILLO, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Rider J Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) failing to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race and had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 14 days to commence midnight 14th March up to and including 28th March 2022. In assessing this matter Stewards were comfortably satisfied that his actions had cost GO MILLO 3rd placing. WELLWELLWELL – Apprentice M Castle, rider of WELL WELLWELL, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. MISS FLAWLESS – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages and as a result had to be steadied from heels approaching the 1000m before shifting wider on track and progressing forward to race outside the leaders near the 700m. DUNKIRK – Slow to begin. Race 5: HOT 91 LADIES OAKS DAY - 27 MAY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 2150 metres BURY ROAD – Raced wide from the 900m. TOUCAN SAM (NZ) – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. JETT AUSTIN (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Apprentice J Lloyd, rider of JETT AUSTIN, was fined $800 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted. SERENADE THE CAT – Bumped by JETT AUSTIN near the 300m when that runner shifted in abruptly under pressure. Over-raced in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. DAY TO FAVOUR – T Harrison, rider of DAY TO FAVOR, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. TRIPPER – Slow to begin. Rider reported the horse was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. B Ainsworth, rider of TRIPPER, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Race 6: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres OURCONI – Over-raced in the early stages of the event. Obliged to shift out to obtain clear running leaving the 300m. TESSNEEM – Raced wide for the majority of the event. WHO SAID SO (NZ) – Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event. MISERY MISS – Apprentice Z Lloyd, rider of MISERY MISS, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
