In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account the ramifications his actions had on wagering investments and also prizemoney lost by connections. When asked to comment on the apparent change of tactics in racing more forward today, co-trainer J. Symons advised that there were no set instructions issued, and with the blinkers off today, as well as the gelding having its first start on the synthetic track, he was not overly surpised by the tactics adopted by rider T. Marshall, particularly given the racing characteristics of IL TORO D’ORO as a one-paced type. Stewards noted both Ms Laxon’s and Mr Symons comments.
