SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: IN NOOSA MAIDEN PLATE     1000 M
 
The start of this event was significantly delayed due to DANE ROAD requiring farrier attention behind the barriers. The start was further delayed when a number of runners proved difficult to load.
 
DANE ROAD – Lost the near-fore plate in running.
 
DAUNTING INSTINCT – Due to transport difficulties, Apprentice C Sutherland did not arrive on course to fulfill this engagement and was replaced by Apprentice S Willis.
 
TOMYDONKA – Shifted in under pressure near the 200m making contact with NANA POWER.
 
MISS LINNY – Raced wide throughout. Fractious on arrival at barriers causing the rider to dismount and a warning was placed on the horses pre-race manners.
 
MISTY GOLD – Trainer R Carter was reprimanded under LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the required time. Trainer R Carter was further reprimanded for failing to remove a nose roll from the horses gear. Raced wide throughout. Fractious on arrival at barriers causing the rider to dismount and a warning was placed on the horses pre-race manners.
 
REDLIGHTS ON – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
SAVANNAH GANGSTER – Slow to begin. Proved difficult to load and a warning was placed on the horses manners.
 
NANA POWER – Proved difficult to load and a warning was placed on the horses manners. Slow to begin. Checked after passing the 200m. M Wishart, the rider of TOMYDONKA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near 200m she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in under pressure resulting in NANA POWER being tightened for room and having to be checked at that point. M Wisharts’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 24/8/24 up to and including 5/9/24.
 
SHE'S MY LADY – Raced greenly whilst weakening after passing the 400m.
 
 
Race 2: NOOSA HEADS SLSC CLASS 2 HANDICAP         1100 M
 
LIMERO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GALLERY MASTER – Tightened for room and steadied near the 150m when racing between MARCH AS ONE, which shifted out under pressure and LIMERO, which shifted in under pressure.
 
RED GADGET – Slow to begin. Jockey H Richardson reported that her mount did not handle the synthetic racing surface. Trainer G Richardson advised stewards that following the horses performance he would now consider RED GADGETS’ immediate racing future.
 
 
 
Race 3: RWC NOOSA & SUNSHINE COAST BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP       2150 M
 
SAVILEO – K Wilson-Taylor reported that when caught wide during the early stages he elected to stride forward to a position outside the lead. Trainer J Bruce formed the view that the horse failed to handle the synthetic racing surface, however advised stewards that he would report back to stewards should anything come to light in the coming days which may have affected the performance. Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ASHFALL – Laid in under pressure during the early stages of the home straight.

LUTON HOO (NZ) – M Hellyer reported that in his opinion the mare did not run out a strong 2150m. Trainer D Vandyke advised stewards that the mare would now be sent for a short spell and stepped back in distance.
 
TORQUE LEICA STAR – Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight until the 200m. Apprentice C Collis was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the completion of the event.
 
STRUCK TWICE (NZ) – Disappointed for a run when racing to the inside of SON OF SATONO after passing the 400m before shifting wider to obtain clear running.
 
SON OF SATONO (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Over-raced when restrained during the early stages.
 
SECRET RED – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Race 4: ROBILLIARD BUILDING & DESIGN BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP       1000 M
 
EXTREMAARTY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 500m was restrained from heels. Held up when rounding the home turn.
 
LADY FALVELON – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice C Collis was reprimanded under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the conclusion of the event.
 
SIDE SHOW SALLY – Raced greenly during the early stages.
 
ANNAKURI – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 5: SUNSHINE COAST HELICOPTERS CLASS 3 HANDICAP      1600 M
 
ARTZINO (NZ) – Slow to begin. D Thornton could offer no explanation for the poor performance. Trainer J Bruce reported that he was somewhat disappointed in the performance, however believes the horse will benefit from a step up in distance. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities
 
GOOD LIEUTENANT – Raced keenly during the middle stages.
 
MISS MIRIAM – Rider dropped her whip near the 300m.
 
SET ABLAZE – Slow to begin.
 
FLYING ROTHE – Over-raced during the early stages.
 
Race 6: FINCIERGE NOOSA CUP BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP         1400 M
 
MENAZZI – Raced wide throughout.
 
VETTA VELOCITA – Slow to begin. Ridden with vigour in the early stages to avoid being crossed and despite not having the intention of leading was permitted to do so when no runner from the outside crossed.

WINSTON SMURFHILL (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FESTIVAL PRINCE – Raced wide throughout.
 
O'MISS BEHAVING – Crowded and obliged to steady over the concluding stages when racing to the inside of BANDIT, which shifted in under pressure. S Willis, the rider of BANDIT, was reminded of her obligation to stop riding and straighten her mount in similar circumstances.
 
BANDIT – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
VANTAN EXPRESS – Blundered on pulling up and underwent a post-race vet examination which revealed the horse to be lame in the off fore leg. VANTAN EXPRESS was transported to the nearby vet clinic for x-rays and further assessment. Trainer M Renehan was advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.
 
Race 7: VANTAGE BUILDING GROUP BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP       1400 M
 
FREDDIE – Bumped on jumping.
 
CRYPTO CURRENCY – Raced wide throughout.
 
PRIMARY WITNESS – Became fractious in tie-up stall, underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start. Began awkwardly, bumped TEQUILA DANCER and lost ground. Improved onto the heels of the tiring EMMY REGINA after passing the 400m and had to be checked before shifting to the outside in order to obtain clear running.
 
REDENTE CHOICE – Held up when rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Passing the 300m, was bumped when CRYPTO CURRENCY shifted out.
 
BEAN ALL OVA – Raced wide throughout.
 
TEQUILA DANCER – Bumped by PRIMARY WITNESS on jumping and was steadied as a consequence.
 
STEP ON FIRE – After passing the 1200m, rider B Wheeler became concerned with the gelding’s action and breathing and retired the horse from the event when leaving the 1100m. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Sitek was advised that he must present a vet certificate and the horse must officially trial prior to racing again.
