Moveable rail out 6 metres for the entire circumference.

RACE 1
HAHN PREMIUM HANDICAP 1800 metres
PLAYFUL SPIRIT was slow to begin.
SEMIPRECIOUS and BRABINGER made contact on jumping away.
ACTIVE REST was inclined to over race in the early stages of the event and was forced to race in a three wide position until near the 1200 metres.
At the 800 metres ACTIVE REST was held up for clear running behind the tiring PLAYFUL SPIRIT until near the 500 metres.
Approaching the 200 metres ARTIST’S TOUCH shifted out under pressure and made slight contact with the hind quarters of DESAROC. A short distance later DESAROC shifted in and away from SEMIPRECIOUS causing ARTIST’S TOUCH to be hampered.
A post race Veterinary inspection of ACTIVE REST failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 2
XXXX BITTER HANDICAP 1200 metres
BILLY CART HILL which had a trace of blood in its mouth was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
Trainer I. O’Neill was advised a warning has been placed on COUNT CARLOS which failed to jump away with the field.
RACE 3
THIRSTY DOG SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP 1000 metres
As apprentice D. Van Bekkum was indisposed she was replaced on MACHTIG MATTANASHI by apprentice Z. Purton.
MONTEAL BEAU jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
On jumping away SOUTHBROOKE shifted in and made contact with DISTRACTION.
A short distance after the start UNDER was tightened for room between SOUTHBROOKE which shifted out and STAR OF POWER which was inclined to lay in and away from ROIALTE.
TIZ raced greenly in the early stages of the event.
SWERVIN’ MERVYN was forced to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 4
TOOHEYS NEW SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP 1000 metres
After being kicked on the near hind prior to the start KEKEDO was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
SAHARA MACA which jumped away awkwardly shifted in and brushed KIITOS SBAZEBA MOI.
After being a little slow to begin CHIEF DREAMER shifted in and had to be steadied off the heels of MR. FLEXIBLE.
Approaching the 600 metres REDWAY was tightened for room between RON’S XENA and MR. FLEXIBLE which shifted in momentarily.
RACE 5
HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT HANDICAP 1000 metres
MICKYMOO jumped away awkwardly.
On jumping away REAL CHIC was tightened for room between CROWN MAID and TELDAWN both of which shifted ground.
COOCHEN JENNY WREN was inclined to shift out under pressure in the straight.
Apprentice C. Eaton was reprimanded and advised she must make a greater effort to keep her mounts on a straight course in future.
RACE 6
XXXX GOLD HANDICAP 1000 metres
VIKING SPIRIT and SPY KINGDOM both jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
Shortly after the start SONIC SWITCH was inclined to lay in and as a result inconvenienced GAINLY LAD and VIKING SPIRIT.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of VIKING SPIRIT jockey K. Pope stated that the colt never felt comfortable on the dead track today and when asked for an effort at the top of the straight failed to respond to his riding.
RACE 7
SOVEREIGN SUPERIOR LAGER HANDICAP 1400 metres
Trainer F. Phillips was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for BLARNEY’S BEST by the required time.
Acting on Veterinary advice BLARNEY’S BEST was declared a late scratching at 3.56pm when the gelding was found to be lame in the near fore.
On the announcement of correct weight Stewards ordered all monies invested on BLARNEY’S BEST to be refunded with deductions of 4 cents in the dollar for the win and 5 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of win and place tickets applicable.
Trainer F. Phillips has been advised a Veterinary Certificate must be obtained for BLARNEY’S BEST prior to its next race start.
POWER AND EGO and ADAMMUP were both slow to begin.
Near the 200 metres DEDEE TRUITT shifted in and made contract with POWER AND EGO which in turn shifted in and bumped the hind quarters of GARFIELD’S GAL. In this incident DEDEE TRUITT became unbalanced and as a result shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of SHARMEEN STAR.
DEAD CAT BOUNCE which had improved to the outside of DEDEE TRUITT also had to be steadied to avoid that horses’ heels.
Rounding the home turn CAMINO REAL shifted out to improve taking ZEE out on to LAVROS IMPOSING.
LAVROS IMPOSING and SHARMEEN STAR were both forced to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 8
CASTLEMAINE PERKINS HANDICAP 1000 metres
FUN ASHORE and THE TANK both jumped away awkwardly.
SLULINE was slow to begin.
COUNTRY CARAT brushed the barrier partition on jumping away.
After passing the 900 metres THE TANK when being steadied off the heels of CRAZY COTTON, shifted out taking SPANKSTER and COUNTRY CARAT wider on the track.
A post race Veterinary examination of SPANKSTER failed to reveal any abnormality.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
