Race 1: Bloomhill Cancer Help Class 3 Plate – 2200m

GURU BAY – Raced 3 wide without cover from the 800m onwards.

All runners from this race were held until after Race 5 for blood samples to be taken.



Race 2: All Computer Services QTIS 3yo Maiden H'cap – 1200m

ATALAGA – Slow to begin.

BELLE OF LORRAINE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground at the start. Bumped heavily near the 900m and lost ground.

HOT TEMPO – Overrraced in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels near the 800m, before shifting in for a short distance.

BALAKLAVA – Shifted in abruptly near the 900m when racing greenly and made heavy contact with another runner. Raced greenly throughout.

HAZEL MONIQUE – Tightened for room and had to be steadied near the 800m and then weakened from that point.

SPECIAL JAY - Raced wide without cover.

SCRAP COPPER – Inconvenienced approaching the 200m and again near the 100m.

JUST CALL ME LOUIE – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m and again nearing the 100m. Apprentice T. Brooker was advised to exercise more care.

MUNSTER – Steadied to avoid heels near the 200m.

GO ON RED – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey L. Cassidy stated he would have liked to have settled the horse closer to the lead, however he was unable to push forward as runners to his inside showed early gate speed. He then elected to steady, however he was of the view that the horse’s overall performance was disappointing, adding that the gelding returned to scale with its tongue over the bit.


Race 3: Bloomhill Therapy House QTIS 3yo Maiden H'cap – 1200m

PINKMAN - Trainer J. Lyons was reprimanded for failing to declare a rider by the required time.

LUNAR COMMAND – Trainer M. Reardon was reprimanded for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Unable to be loaded into the barriers. All monies invested on the horse withdrawn by the order of the stewards at 1.18 pm to be refunded with the below deductions applicable. Mr Reardon was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.

RUNNING THUNDER – Prior to the start of this race, jockey M. Gray was dislodged. The horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Inconvenienced on jumping away. Raced 3 wide throughout and then laid in under pressure in the home straight.

BOMBAY ROCK – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously throughout the event.

MISHANI INVADA – Jumped away awkwardly.

ALL ASSURED – Inconvenienced shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Commenced to overrace when the pace slackened near the 800m and had to be steadied from heels and shifted wider on the track and raced 3 wide from that point onwards.

DAZZLING SHIRAZ – Jockey R. Goltz reported his mount raced greenly in the early stages.

BUSH LAWYER – Shifted in near the 1000m and steadied from heels, before then racing 3 wide without cover. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

PINKMAN – Overraced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight, and then inconvenienced and had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 200m before shifting out across heels to secure clear running.

BASILISK – Jockey E. Wilkinson reported her mount made an abnormal respiratory noise throughout the event. Trainer M. Bailey advised stewards he would have the gelding scoped and provide the results of this examination to stewards.


Race 4: Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation Class 2 H'cap – 1200m

ASTATUS – Slow to begin.

GOLD RECORD – Slow to begin.

PEZENAS – Jockey A. Best was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that after leaving the 750m and having ASTATUS and GOLD RECORD tight to his inside he did fail to make sufficient effort to shift out to relieve pressure to those runners and allowed his mount to shift in further, causing A. Spinks to check ASTATUS at that stage, resulting in GOLD RECORD losing ground. A. Best was suspended from riding in races for a period 8 meetings, to commence at midnight, 28 September and to expire at midnight, 12 October.

MURPHY’S PROSPECT – Overraced in the early stages and then shifted out, forcing another runner wider before pulling its way to the lead. Jockey T. Harrison reported that her whip became entangled in the horse’s mane and as a result was unable to utilise the whip in the home straight.

TANGO KING – Forced wider approaching the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.


Race 5: Bloomhill Opportunity Shops Maiden H'cap – 1200m

REGATTA PARADE – Stewards permitted the horse to race with a tongue tie when trainer T. Crane indicated he believed he had made the correct gear change. Stewards will contact Trainers Service Centre at a later date to confirm that the gear change had been made correctly.

CARNCOTTON – Got its hind leg caught in the barriers causing a delay to the start. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed to take its place in the field. Shifted in near the 800m, causing a tightening to runners to her inside. Apprentice R. Payne was advised to exercise more care.

AUBE – Inconvenienced at the start. Improved onto heels near the 700m and had to be steadied.

HIFLYER – Inconvenienced at the start.

OUTBACK CLAN – Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with another runner. Hung out rounding turn, warning.

BOBBY BE GOOD – Improved onto heels near the 800m and steadied. Raced wide throughout.

REGATTA PARADE – Tightened for room leaving the 800m. Bumped over the concluding stages.

DALAT - Tightened for room leaving the 800m.

SHARPE RATIO - Tightened for room leaving the 800m.

SQUEEMI – Jockey M. Morris pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that approaching the 200m he permitted his mount to shift in whilst placing heavy pressure on the mare, resulting in the rightful running of GALLIVANTING being taken and causing T. Harrison to restrain that horse and lose its rightful position at this stage. M. Morris was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 28 September and to expire at midnight, 8 October.

LORDAG – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages and bumped.

MALIBU THIEF – Raced wide without cover and then laid in under pressure in the home straight.

BAY HERO – Lost its off hind plate in running.


Race 6: Cotton Tree Markets Maiden H'cap – 1600m

BERCHTESGADEN – Slow to begin.

BECKONING CAT – Slow to begin.

HIS REDEMPTION – Raced with its head in the air for a short distance passing the 800m.

RHYTHM OF LIFE – Improved onto heels after passing the 200m and steadied off heels, and then went to the line without being fully tested.

NOSUBFORLUCK – Raced wide without cover.


Race 7: Bob Jane T-Mart Maroochydore Class 4 H'cap – 1300m

TAX REBATE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Bumped on a number of occasions from the 1000m until leaving the 600.

PIGGY BANK – Slow to begin. Bumped on a number of occasions from the 1000m until leaving the 600m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SHOW OF STRENGTH – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SEQUALISCIOUS – Rider T. Brooker advised that the gelding overraced during the middle stages and that this had a detrimental effect on the overrule performance.

Race 8: Garry Crick Autos Class 1 H'cap – 1400m

CONVOY – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced over the concluding stages.


BLANCHARD BLOOM – Slow to begin. Shifted in, causing tightening over the concluding stages. App. Jockey G. Goold was advised to exercise more care.

LAUTERBRUNNEN – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until the 300m.

CLARISSA – Shifted out under pressure from the 300m when commencing to weaken and in doing so inconvenienced another runner. M. McGuren was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount.

CURLEW – Inconvenienced near the 200m.

PARASCENT – Raced 3 wide without cover.

Race 9: Bloomhill Distribution Centre Class 1 H'cap – 1000m

ROSE OF CLARE – As jockey D. Browne was to be overweight, R. McMahon was substituted as the rider of that horse. D. Browne was fined $100. Held up rounding the home turn.

NIEMANDS GIRL – Trainer J. Lyons was reprimanded for failing to declared a rider by the prescribed time.

FELINE MISS – Blundered on jumping away.

HENNY’S HERO – Tightened for room between runners near the 150m before having to shift out across the heels of runners to the outside. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

IRRESISTIBLE ME – Steadied from heels near the 500m before shifting back to the inside.

HYSTERICAL MISS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

KISS MY BRASS - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
