Race 1: Coastline BMW Maiden H'cap – 1400m

BOBBY BE GOOD – Change of tactics. To be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

ASSERTIVE LOVE – Broke through the barriers prior to the start, causing a slight delay. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.

SAM DE HERO – Slow to muster speed.

MISTY MONTANA – Bumped at start.

DETAILED REPORT – Shifted in and away from another runner and became unbalanced near the 250m.

BRANDLI – Raced wide throughout.

IN TAIWAN – Tightened for room near 100m. Raced wide throughout.

LACADA RAIN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.


Race 2: OVR Motel & Resort Maiden Plate – 1000m

SHANTICO – Correct weight was delayed to allow apprentice B. Grylls (3rd placegetter) to view the film near the 150m to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge a protest against LAUGH A LITTLE being declared the winner. Subsequently she declined to lodge an objection and correct weight semaphored. Crowded for room near the 150m. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.

CHASTE ANGEL – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

PANCH KALYAN – Slow to begin.

LICENSEE – Hung out rounding the home turn and was bumped near the 300m. Raced wide throughout.

MAYBE BABY – Bumped near 300m.

JUST KEEP GIVING – Lost its near fore plate in running.


Race 3: Secutor Securities Pty Ltd Open H'cap – 1000m

DENMARK HILL – Blundered on jumping away and lost ground.

EXPLORE THE WORLD – Raced 3 wide throughout.


Race 4: Slade Bloodstock Pty Ltd Class 3 H'cap – 1400m

LEMAITRE – As jockey G. Goold was to be overweight, J. Missen was substituted as the rider of that horse. G. Goold was reprimanded. In issuing a reprimand, stewards took into account his good record regarding overweight issues. Slow to begin.

HIGHLY GENTLE – As the horse had not started for 2 years, the gelding was examined by the veterinary surgeon and was subsequently cleared to race.

SALERIO – Bumped at start. Crowded for room and lost its position near the 600m.

PADRINO – Bumped at start. Lost off hind plate in running.

PER MILLE – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Smith & Geyer Property Valuers QTIS 3yo Fillies Maiden Plate – 1000m

DOOM CITY DRAGON – Bumped on jumping away. Had to be checked near the 600m when tightened for room.

RUNAWAY ANGEL – Shifted out at the start. Raced wide throughout.

WICKED TRILOGY – Slow to begin.

A DAY TO REMEMBER – Jockey T. Bell was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 600m he allowed his mount to shift in, causing interference. T. Bell was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 4 October and to expire at midnight, 15 October.

STARSTYLE – Hung out in the early stages of the home straight.

QUELLE LIASON – Raced wide throughout.

MISTIE RUBIE – Raced wide throughout.


Race 6: Sommer’s Fuel Supplies Class 1 H'cap – 1600m

PALACE WHISPERS – Trainer T. Hall was fined $100 for presenting the horse with incorrect gear. Change of tactics. To be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Caught wide early, and settled midfield.

MELATTE – Checked at the start.

TREECAT MAGIC – Shifted out on jumping away.

CAVENDISH ROAD – Shifted in at the start.

BADBOYCURTIS – J. Missen was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.


Race 7: Wear In Business Class 1 H'cap – 1200m

CANID - Trainer G. Richardson was fined $100 for failing to scratch the horse by the prescribed time.

CAPTAIN WINGS – Shifted out abruptly at the start. Shifted out under pressure approaching the finish line.

MAXIRODS – Checked at the start and lost ground.

GET ON DOWN – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover.

PANTALETTES – Overraced in the middle stages. Raced wide throughout.

BALGOWNIE –Raced wide throughout.
