SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Doomben 3.10.15 – Race 1: D. Griffin, the rider of DIETERS, was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip in a backhand manner.

Race 1: NORTH SHORE REALTY SUNSHINE COAST MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

COCOA BAR – Raced wide throughout.

MAN ON THE MOVE – Slow to begin.

RAFFIN SILVER – Slow to begin.

SAMKAMA – Raced wide without cover. Inconvenienced near the 200m.

WE’RE DREAMING – Began awkwardly. Obliged to race in restricted room near the 900m.

GREY GLITTER – Raced wide throughout.

DADDY LONGLEGS – Commenced to hang out passing the 800m and improved on to heels, having to be checked at the 700m, and continued to hang out until entering the home straight.

JERRYVIL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Obliged to race in restricted room near the 900m.

BEKANNTES – Lost its near hind plate in running. Had to be checked when tightened for room near the 200m between SAMKAMA and CONFRONTING (M. McGillivray), which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice M. McGillivray pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that he failed to stop riding and straighten his mount at that point and his licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight Sunday 11 October until midnight Tuesday 20 October 2015.

ANADEM – Began awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with another runner. Steadied from heels at the 900m.

TANA CENTURY – Obliged to race in restricted room near the 900m.


Race 2: SEKISUI HOUSE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1600M

The start of this race was delayed when L. Tarrant was dislodged from SHE’S A UNIT before being remounted and taking its place in the field. Following the event L. Tarrant was examined by the Club doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

GILLTOWN – M. Cahill reported that his mount raced greenly throughout and appeared to resent kickback from other runners.

BOLD AVENUE – Buffeted between runners near the 1400m and had to be steadied. Held up rounding the home turn and when shifting out to obtain clear running made contact with another runner.

SKI KITZBUHEL – Became unbalanced after being bumped by another runner near the 400m. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse had sustained a minor laceration on the outside of the near hind leg.

ANSWERED – Slow to begin.

MUSHIN – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 1400m.

HOW JAMMY’S THAT – Lost its off hind plate in running.

VAULTER – Jockey L. Londregan reported to stewards that from the awkward alley he was obliged to position the horse further back in the field than he would have liked and he felt that this had a detrimental effect on the overall performance.

ASPEN STREET – J. Morris reported that he made contact with the barrier partition upon jumping away and lost the use of his nearside iron for a short distance. Commenced to overrace passing the 1400m and then raced wide throughout.

DANZER GIRL – Overraced in the early and middle stages and shifted wider near the 1000m to avoid heels and raced wide without cover from that point.

SHE’S A UNIT – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.


Race 3: BENTLEYS QUEENSLAND CLASS 3 PLATE – 1800M

KAZAN – Slow to begin.

YEAGER – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace when the pace was only slow in the early stages and J. Byrne elected to shift wider on the track and improve and assume the lead passing the 1000m.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.

After sustaining an injury on dismounting, R. Fradd was stood down from remaining engagements by the Club doctor and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.


Race 4: COOLUM BEACH BOWLS CLUB QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M

MONO LAD – B. Pengelly reported that his mount raced greenly and overraced in the lead during the middle stages, which he felt had an effect on the horse’s performance.

MERCIFUL – Trainer B. Guy was fined $100 for the late declaration of D. Griffin as the rider. Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner.

BIG DEAL – Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition, causing rider M. McGillivray to lose the use of his nearside iron and was dislodged shortly thereafter. After viewing the patrol footage, stewards were satisfied that BIG DEAL had been afforded a fair start. A post-race veterinary examination of BIG DEAL revealed minor lacerations to the nearside knee. Apprentice McGillivray was examined by the doctor and stood down from his remaining rides. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

ANDARI – A post-race veterinary examination found the horse to have suffered the thumps.

LORD DARIUS – Fractious in the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed to take its place in the field. J. Lloyd reported that the horse raced greenly and was somewhat field shy and he had recommended to connections to add blinkers to the horse’s gear. Trainer P. Duff agreed with jockey Lloyd’s comments and indicated that he would add blinkers to the horse’s gear.

MURTA SHE RODE – Had to be checked when inconvenienced by the riderless horse passing the 1000m before racing three wide without cover.

THAT’S ENOUGH – M. Cahill reported that his mount hung out from the 800m until entering the home straight and in his view was doing its best work over the concluding stages and he had recommended to connections to step the horse up over more distance and experiment with the addition of blinkers.

ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Slow to begin, then further hampered and lost ground shortly after the start.

Race 5: ELEMENT ON COOLUM CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1400M

CROOKED STICK – Rider J. Morris reported that his mount laid out throughout the event, particularly under pressure in the home straight.

SIR KNOX – Forced wider passing the 900m and raced wide without cover until leaving the 600m.

HOLY TOLEDO – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace when the pace slackened approaching the first turn. Hung out from the 800m, causing its rider to be unable to test the horse at all over the final 500m. Trainer R. Macrae’s representative was advised that HOLY TOLEDO would be required to officially trial prior to its next start.

PICTURE IT – Raced wide without cover throughout the event and was forced wider after passing the 600m.

Race 6: RAM AUTOMOTIVE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M

PROUD VAL – Raced wide without cover.

SUPER KANGAROO – Raced greenly throughout and had to be steadied from heels passing the 600m.

LADY DENMAN – Held up for a short distance passing the 400m.

CLASSIC ELEMENT – Raced wide throughout.

Race 7: BELL POTTER CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200M

ROSELLA – D. Griffin reported that his mount raced fresh today and overraced in the early stages and he felt that the horse may have bumped its near hind leg in running, which in his view had an effect on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer T. Hall in coming days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery.

I’M IN LOVE – Slow to begin.

LOADED AND READY – Slow to begin.

GUMDALE BOY – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with another runner.

Race 8: COOLUM BUSINESS AND TOURISM CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1400M

Stewards acceded to a request by trainer L. Birchley to scratch SAGA OF THE STORM owing to the upgrade of the track to GOOD 3. In agreeing to his request, stewards took into account Mr Birchley’s submissions regarding the horse’s racing history, however advised him that as a result of allowing the horse to be scratched, it would not be permitted to race on tracks rated firmer than GOOD 4.

MONSTER OF ENERGY – Had to be restrained from heels and shifted wider on the track when the pace slackened after passing the 1000m.

NEAR THE CITY – Apprentice R. Payne reported that she had been instructed to try to ride the horse in a more forward position, however after receiving minor interference in the early stages, she was obliges to steady and take up a trailing position on the fence worse than midfield and she then had some difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.

THE OVAL OFFICE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

BLOOMIN’ ELUSIVE – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.

MORINGA’S TOOTSIE – J. Morris reported that he had been instructed to try to get the horse to settle behind runners, however, the horse overraced in the early stages and he was obliged to allow the horse to stride forward to a position outside the lead.
