Carey Supplementary Report Trainer David Van Dyke reported to stewards that following a track gallop on 23 August YANKEE ROSE was found to have filling and heat in the near-fore fetlock. The filly had subsequently undergone x-rays and scans which found no significant injuries and subsequently the filling had subsided and Mr Van Dyke indicated that he would continue with the horse’s preparation with a view to trialling the horse on Tuesday, 30 August. _________________________ Race 1: Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks QTIS 3yo Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1300m STRYKING STUNNAH – Jumped away awkwardly. Bled during the race. Connections were advised that the horse would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months. RHYMING – After being slow to begin, was briefly tightened for room shortly after the start. PRINCE OF FLINDERS – Pulled hard in the early stages. HEARTS HONOUR – Overraced when the pace slackened approaching the first turn. Race 2: Sammuel & Son/Yalumba Wines Maiden H’cap – 1400m HALLSIDE REBEL – Declared a late scratching at 8.50 am on veterinary advice. SCHWARZY – Slow to begin. MURT REYNOLDS – Obliged to race in restricted room and became awkward passing the 1000m. ROCKABELLA BOY – Raced wide throughout and laid in under pressure in the home straight. STRATUZY - When asked to comment on the performance, jockey T. Harrison could offer no explanation other than to say that the horse may not have appreciated racing in a tongue-tie. Trainer T. Gollan agreed with the comments of jockey Harrison. Race 3: Sky Racing Class 1 Plate – 2200m ANSWERED – Slow to begin. Following this event the track rating was downgraded to Soft 6. Race 4: XXXX Class 5 H’cap - 1600m BELFLYER – Overraced approaching the 1200m. SILENTO – Overraced approaching the 1200m. Race 5: Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Maiden H’cap - 1000m KING DRABADORE – Became restless in the stalls and got its near hindleg up on the partition. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. BALCO BOY – Slow to begin. Blundered near the 550m. MARSHALL STROMBERG – Slow to begin. Raced wide. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. SECRET SITES – Slow to begin. APOLLO HOPE – Jumped away awkwardly. BEL ABOVE – Raced wide. Race 6: Parklands Tavern Class 2 H’cap - 1000m GRACEVILLE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. RAINBOW LACE – Raced wide without cover. TUSCAN FALLS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. DOUBLE DOLLARS – Jockey G. Colless reported his mount travelled well rounding the home turn and when asked for an effort proved disappointing. He indicated that the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise during the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had bled from one nostril. Connections were advised that the horse must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a steward prior to its next start. Race 7: Coastline BMW Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1400m OUR CLARKY – Slow to begin. (2L) PERFECT RAINBOW – Jockey S. Wilson, rider of Perfect Rainbow, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that after the 300m he directed his mount into a position inside FAST FELLA where there was insufficient room, and further persisted in attempting to obtain that run for some distance, which resulted in PERFECT RAINBOW buffeting with GOOD INTENTIONS to the inside, resulting in jockey Wilson having to check his mount away from the heels of FAST FELLA. Jockey Wilson was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight, 30 August, and to expire at midnight, 9 September. FAST FELLA - Jockey G. Colless advised his mount did not handle the soft racing conditions. Race 8: K. Smith & Son Jewellers Class 4 H’cap – 1200m MAGIC I AM – Overraced in the early stages.
