Race 1: SEAVIEW RESORT APARTMENTGS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
HEAPS GOOD – Trainer C. Anderson advised that from the wide barrier the gelding would be ridden conservatively. The horse was ridden accordingly. Bumped shortly after the start.
 
RANEN – After being  fractious in the mounting yard  was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and cleared to start.  Slow to begin.  Trainer D. Hansen advised stewards that today he removed the blinkers from the gelding when it performed well  in a jump out prior to this race, and he expected the gelding to race well tonight.  Stewards noted his comments.
 
TWILIGHT MANEUVER – Began awkwardly and shifted out.  Had a tendency to hang out under pressure in the home straight.
 
PRINCESS SIDEREUS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
SIBERANCE – Had to be checked near the 850m when  ROAD LESS TRAVELLED shifted in  away from SMASHED  IT.
 
MESSAGEINABOTTLE - Shifted in abruptly of its own accord and made heavy contact with the running rail leaving the 700m.
 
SMASHED IT – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 700m.
 
SON OF JUSTICE – Raced wide and bumped rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 2: BEACON LIGHTING KAWANA MAIDEN MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M

SHELLAC – The tongue-tie on the horse became displaced in the enclosure and had to be refitted at the barriers.
 
TRIPLE WON – Examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers at the request of its rider and was subsequently cleared to start.  Jockey M. Hellyer reported at scale that due to HE’LL BE RIGHT racing fiercely outside his mount, TRIPLE WON overraced, and as a result had a detrimental effect on the gelding’s performance.
 
LAUDABLE LEMON -  Began awkwardly and lost ground.  Became awkward near the 900m when racing to the inside of another runner. Brushed by another runner approaching the 800m and again became unbalanced. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
GYPSY MISS – Began awkwardly.
 
WAITING GAME – Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground.
 
BENICSTRESS – Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
 
HE’LL BE RIGHT -  Jockey J. Missen reported that his mount was inclined to hang in throughout, proving difficult to ride in the early stages. He added that as a result he eased the horse out of the race near the 400m.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer G. Hardy reported that it was now his intention to retire the gelding, however was advised that the horse would be required to trial prior to its next race start should circumstances change.
 
SENSEOFWONDER – Raced greenly when racing in restricted room approaching the 200m to the inside of GYPSY MISS, which momentarily shifted in.
 
SWIPPA  DA MOUSE – Had to be steadied near the 100m after improving onto heels when laying in under pressure.  
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 3: GUIDE DOGS QUEENSLAND/LALLEMAND ANIMAL NUTRITION CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1300M
 
ROMANARMA – Slow to begin. When attempting to secure clear running near the 300m shifted out and made heavy contact with LUCKY LUCRE and then  was disappointed for a run. After passing the 200m had difficulty obtaining clear running. Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
GLENDARA – Slow to begin.  Overraced in the early and middle stages.  Apprentice A. Sewell was reprimanded for  failing to weigh out with a girth.
 
STONECAST – Overraced in the early and middle stages whilst racing 3 wide without cover.
 
VENECIA – Jockey L. Tarrant reported his mount hung out for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 4: MYER MAROOHYDORE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
 
POETIC SHOW – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the race. Held up rounding the home turn until a point leaving the 300m.
 
EXPAT ENVY – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
ZOU DER ZEE - Bumped shortly after the start. Held up for a short distance upon entering the home straight.
 
PRINCESS IS READY – Held up for the majority of the home straight.
 
FAST TRICK – Raced 3 wide without cover for the entire race.  Apprentice A. Sewell was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted on the horse.  He stated that his intention was to take up a forward position, however when caught 3 wide he was unable to restrain the colt and as a result raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 5: BEERWAH HIDEAWAY B&B FUNCTION CENTRE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1600M
 
SUBSOLAR – Trainer C. Anderson advised that from the wide barrier the mare would be ridden conservatively.  The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
YOU BETTER NOT – Began awkwardly.  Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BELLA UNO – Shifted out abruptly at the start.
 
D’LEEAJETG – Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 500m. Jockey L. Tarrant was fined $100 for returning to scale overweight.  Jockey Tarrant explained that he had changed his boots after weighing out.
 
SHOW A FLICK – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race. Jockey M. Hellyer dismounted on pulling up.   A post race veterinary examination  revealed a laceration to the back of the near fore coronet.  
 
CHANGE OF LUCK – Following the poor performance, trainer M. Renehan indicated to stewards it was now his intention to retire the gelding.
 
 
Race 6: MORETON BAY EQUINE VETS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1000M
 
HIDDEN BELLS – Hampered shortly after the start after being slow to begin.
 
PERFORATION – Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
