A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. STELLARCRAFT – Raced wide without cover. Taken in and tightened other runners approaching the 900m when GHERADINI shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice T. Brooker, the rider of GHERADINI, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in at that point. Apprentice Brooker’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 14 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 3 December and expire at midnight on Saturday 17 December 2016. ROUND MOUNTAIN GAL – Had to be checked when tightened for room approaching the 900m. SHE’S WORTHY – Began very awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to the mare racing again. Following this race, connections of TIBROGARGAN MISS expressed their concerns that instructions provided by trainer D. Hansen to the starter Mr R. Hanson regarding the handling of the horse in the barriers were not complied with. After taking evidence from the starter and reviewing the stewards’ patrol footage it was established that TIBROGARGAN MISS was fractious in the barriers and despite being assisted by a barrier attendant began awkwardly and lost ground. Stewards advised the connections that given the horse was fractious in the barriers, the instructions provided by the trainer were attempted to be complied with.
