Race 1: Coastline BMW 3 Series Open H’cap – 2200m
 
FUERZA – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Lloyd indicated that the horse travelled well outside the leader throughout the event, however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and weakened in the home straight. Trainer P.H. Duncan stated that in light of today’s performance the stable would give consideration to sending the horse for a spell.
 
 
Race 2: Coastline BMW X4 QTIS 3yo Plate – 1600m
 
KING OF MONACO – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner and lost ground at the start. Inconvenienced approaching the 200m and became unbalanced. In this incident, jockey G. Goold dropped his whip.
 
MISS KINDILAN – Overraced in the early and middle stages and raced 3 wide without cover.  
 
OVERLAP – Overraced at heels after passing the 1200m.  Inconvenienced approaching the 200m and became unbalanced.
 
ROYAL ATOM – Overraced in the middle stages and race wide from the 900m.
AHNDRAS – Shifted out to improve from the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards. Bumped by another runner and forced wider near the 600m, and made the home turn extremely wide.
 
TREASURE GALLERY – Shifted out to improve and made heavy contact with another runner near the 600m. Obliged to steady when placed in restricted room near the 500m before weakening in the home straight.
 
CUSHION PINK – Held up rounding the home turn  and again had some difficulty securing clear running near the 300m. Lost near fore plate in running.
 
CRACK ME UP – Lost near fore plate in running.
 
DOUBT DEFYING – A post race veterinary examination revealed  the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg.
 
 
Race 3: Coastline BMW 7 Series Class 3 Plate 0 1600m
 
BEXSTAR – Overraced in the early and middle stages and raced wide without cover.
 
HIDDEN GOLD - Overraced in the middle stages.
 
CAPETOWN HUSSEY – Forced 3 wide from the 700m. Forced wider passing the 400m.
 
SHOTACROSS THE BOW – Taken wider passing the 400m and inconvenienced over the concluding stages.
 
CORNROW – Forced wider passing the 400m.
 
THE AMATEUR – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer T. Edmonds indicated the horse would now be sent for a spell.
 
 
Race 4: Coastline BMW M 2yo Classic QTIS Added Stakes Plate – 1200m
 
IMAGINALLTHEPEOPLE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Was again inspected post race  after weakening in the home straight and found to be lame in the near foreleg.  Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next race start.  Connections indicated the horse would now be sent for a spell.
 
MRS QUIGLEY – Began awkwardly and lost ground at the start.
 
BOLD ENDEAVOUR – Began awkwardly and lost ground at the start.  Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
SNITZKRAFT – Raced greenly in the home straight. Laid in shortly after leaving the 400m and laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 5: Coastline BMW 4 Series QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1000m
 
The start was delayed when SET WAIT and SECRET MO  were both reluctant to proceed to the barriers. The start was further delayed when I REMEMBER  YOU was kicked behind the barriers.  After being examined by the veterinary surgeon the horse was cleared to start. The start of the race was again further delayed  when SET WAIT broke through the front of the barriers. After undergoing a veterinary examination the horse was cleared to start.
 
VOL VALLEE – Trainer D. Murphy was reprimanded for failing to scratch the horse by the required time.
 
RED HANDLE – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $200 for failing to declared a gear change for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
WRAPPED IN BLUE – Raced wide.
 
JUST ORM – Inconvenienced near the 300m. Raced wide.
 
MANAYA – Jockey D. Browne indicated it had been his intention to trail FRENCH JET, however when the horse commenced to steady in the early stages he elected to allow  his mount to stride forward and obtained the position outside the lead comfortably.  He indicated he felt the horse was travelling strongly entering the home straight, however weakened when asked for an effort passing the 300m.  Jockey Browne added the filly sweated up badly prior to the race and was slightly distressed post race.  A post race veterinary examination  found the horse to have a poor post race recovery.
 
FRENCH JET – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey M. Cahill indicated he had been given no specific instructions, however after travelling a short distance he felt there as too much speed to the inside and he elected to steady and attempted to obtain cover behind WRAPPED IN BLUE. He said after doing so the gelding commenced to race very greenly and shifted in abruptly before dipping on a number of occasions.  Jockey Cahill indicated despite urging the horse along prior to the home turn the horse did not travel comfortably, however in the home straight the horse did not travel comfortably, although in the home straight FRENCH JET was doing its best work over the concluding stages. He was of the view that as the horse was lightly raced, it may not have appreciated racing behind horses.  Stewards noted the comments.
 
Race 6: Coastline BMW X1 Class 6 H'cap – 1800m
 
BLACKJACK BELLA – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden back in the field from the wide gate.  Subsequently settled at the tail of the field.

SKYTREK – Slow to begin. Then pulled hard in the early stages.
 
MONO LAD – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
 
RISING LUCK – Pulled hard in the early stages before shifting wider and being allowed to stride forward after passing the 1200m.
 
THREE POINTS – Raced wide without cover.
Race 7: Coastline BMW Sunshine Coast Cup – 1400m
 
SIR MOMENTS – Slow to begin.
 
GLENDARA – Steadied to avoid heels approaching the 1000m.
 
PILLAR OF CREATION – Steadied when placed in restricted room approaching the 1000m.
 
JUMBO PRINCE – Jockey J. Byrne reported that despite travelling comfortably in a favourable position just behind the lead ,he was somewhat disappointed with the overall performance. He felt this may be attributable to the pace, which was steady in the middle stages ,as he believed the horse races best when there is a more genuine tempo being set. 
 
BANDA SPICE – Raced wide without cover.
 
SOLD FOR SONG – Raced wide. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Orman indicated that the horse overraced in the early stage, which is out of character for the mare. He added that he was disappointed with the overall performance. Trainer K. Kemp advised stewards that, in his view, the trip to Melbourne for its most recent start may have taken a little bit more out of the mare than first thought, and in light of today’s performance he would give consideration to sending the mare for a spell.
 
BIDII BABE – Raced wide without cover.
 
IN HIS STRIDE – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was shifted out to avoid heels near the 350m.
 
DREAM CHOICE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had been galloped on on the near hind leg.
 
 
Race 8: Coastline BMW M2 Benchmark 85 H'cap – 1200m
.
DEVINE SEVICE – Declared a late scratching at 4.50 pm after rearing up and striking its head in the barriers.  Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the Devine Service were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable
 
12 cents in the dollar for win bets
12 cents in the dollar for place bets for the win
12 cents in the dollar for 2nd place bets
10 cents in the dollar for 3rd place bets
 
Starting prices subject to deduction.
 
Trainer D. Hansen was advised he must provide a barrier certificate for the horse prior to its next race start.
 
NOTONYOURLIFE – Slow to begin.
 
MURT THE FLIRT – Raced wide without cover.
 
IRISH CONSTABULARY – Raced wide.
