Race 1: HMR Projects Maiden H’cap – 1400m

OPTION TRADER - The start of this race was delayed when the gelding  cast a plate during its preliminary.  This plate was refitted by the farrier behind the barriers. Forced wider by another runner passing the 800m. Lost near fore plate in running.

SHERRIN THE LOVE – Slow to begin.

HOT TEMPO – Jumped away awkwardly. Had to be restrained from the heels of JAZZ ADELE and shifted out approaching the 800m.  Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Hung in badly when placed under pressure over the final 300m which prevented jockey M. Hellyer from riding HOT TEMPO out in his normal manner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Brooker, rider of LUPO NERO, was issued with a severe reprimand and advised to ensure she provides her fellow riders with greater clearance in future. T. Brooker was further cautioned for continuing to shift out, forcing TONI MAY wider on the track inside the 100m.
