Race 1: Monaco Resort Maiden H'cap – 1600m
 
OPTION TRADER – Hampered soon after the start. Disappointed for clear running from approaching the 200m until passing the 100m. Jockey P. Hammersley was advised  at all times to ride his mounts out to the end of the race.
 
TAKE A CHANCE – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer L. Cronan was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse. Miss Cronan advised stewards that she now intends on spelling the horse.
 
MIABLA – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure over the final 300m.
 
BRIGADIER SAM – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
TISANI GREY– Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
JAPALI FOX – Jockey A. Spinks was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
DOG DAYS ARE OVER – Apprentice B. Nothdurft was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
Race 2:  Plaster Warehouse Pty Ltd QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
GLAMOUR BOY – Slow to begin.
 
SAINT ELEMENT – Slow to begin.
 
MUSGREY HILL – Soon after the start was bumped heavily and shifted out.
 
RED BALTER – Bumped heavily and became unbalanced soon after the start.
 
DONASTIA STAR – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
HEART OF AUSTRALIA – Jockey B. Stewart was cautioned and advised to ride his mounts right out to the end of the race.
 
RED BLANKET – When questioned apprentice T. Brooker explained that the horse hung in for a major part of the race and soon after straightening she was prevented from improving to the outside and when she applied pressure, the filly continued to hang in and proved difficult to ride. 
 
 
Race 3:  Digital Vision Direct Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
LIQUID RAIN – Jumped very awkwardly, resulting in apprentice Guthmann-Chester losing the use of his off-side stirrup iron for some distance, this resulted in the filly trailing the field throughout.
 
ANY LASS WILL DO – Severely hampered at the start.  Jockey M. Cahill could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
STRIKER THOMAS – Restrained at the start from the wide barrier to gain a position closer to the rail.
 
SHOW US SUMHEART – Near the 800m shifted out when overracing to avoid heels.
 
SNOWY MOET – Forced wider from the 800m by SHOW US SUMHEART. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ORBITAL – Disappointed for a run near the 350m between SILENT FLYER and SNOWY MOET, which shifted out slightly.
 
SILENT FLYER – Jockey L. Londregan was issued with a reprimand for using his whip in a forehand manner above shoulder height.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 4:  Integrale Homes Class 1 H'cap – 1000m
 
TYCOON TYKE – Slow to begin.
 
PATCHE GIFT – Slow to begin.  Tightened for room near the 650m.
 
SHREWVELON – Momentarily tightened for room by STAR PAINTER leaving the 700m and then shifted in and away from that runner.  Inconvenienced near the 300m.
 
CHAYSE ‘N’ MASON – Tightened for room near the 650m.
 
BROKEN FINGER – Jockey G. Goold reported that his mount put in an awkward stride rounding the home turn and from that point raced erratically in the home straight.  Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.  Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
STAR PAINTER – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
Race 5:  Rumba Resort Class 5 H'cap - 1000m
 
LE CHEF – Declared a late scratching at 9.07 am on veterinary advice.
 
BACKSLAPPER – Declared a late scratching at 11.27 am on veterinary advice.
 
START DREAMIN – Slow to begin.
 
ROOI ROE – Slow to begin.
 
REBEL ROVER – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
MEET GEORGE JETSON – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R. Stewart stated that he had to work hard in the early stages to obtain a position outside the leader and when placed under pressure soon after straightening, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.  The stable representative advised that they may have veterinary tests carried out on the horse.
 
SUPER SUAVE – Raced 3 wide without cover. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey B. Stewart stated that his mount never travelled comfortably throughout and was disappointing once placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
PRIMED FOR DESTINY – When questioned regarding the improved performance, stable representative for trainer J. Walk advised that mare raced first-up over an unsuitable journey on a heavy surface last start, and today’s  better track conditions  over 1000 metres  were factors which contributed to the improved performance.   
 
Race 6:  Nurture Financial Group Class 2 H'cap – 1200m
 
PICK OF THE PUBS – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.
 
THE INFLAMER – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
BARNSLEY – Overraced in the early stages.
 
THE INFLAMER – Bumped by Sugar Ray Red approaching and passing the 1000m, and following this began to race keenly.
 
STORM GIRL – Raced 3 wide without cover.  Jockey L. Cassidy was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 7:  Glass FX Class 1 H'cap - 1400m
 
SWIPPA DA MOUSE – As apprentice B. Nothdurft was issued with a reprimand for being unable to claim down to his minimum right weight. In assessing penalty, stewards were mindful of his unblemished record regarding contravention of this rule. Apprentice T. Brooker was substituted as the rider of the horse.    
 
SCRABBLE – Slow to begin.
 
VAULTING AMBITION – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 8:   Slade Bloodstock Pty Ltd Class 4 H'cap – 1400m
 
AWAKENINGS – Checked near the 1200m.  Apprentice A. Fancourt, rider of AGORA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1200m she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of AWAKENINGS, which was taken in across the heels of OUR RACKETEER and as a result AWAKENINGS clipped the heels of OUR RACKETEER and  lost ground.  Apprentice Fancourt was suspended from riding in races for a period of 9 days, to commence at midnight, 22 April and to expire at midnight, 1 May.
 
SUBSOLAR – Held up rounding the home turn.  Jockey A. Allen, rider of MANDRYKA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 100m he permitted his mount to shift out when not fully clear of SHOW COMMAND, which was taken out across the rightful running of SUBSOLAR, which was severely checked.  JETINTOIT was also hampered in this incident.  Jockey Allen was suspended from riding in races for a period of 13 days, to commence at midnight, 17 April and to expire at midnight, 30 April.
 
SUGAR HIT – Raced 3 wide without cover.
