HansonStewards Secretary – P. Carey Race 1: Seaview Apartments Moooloolaba QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1000m THIRD ROCK – Slow to begin. Jockey R. McMahon reported his mount was inclined to hang in and was very green throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. DANCING DIVA – Slowly into stride. AETHERIUS – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout. BRAVE JEWEL – Raced greenly throughout. Race 2: Integrale Homes Maiden H’cap - 1000m On return to scale a protest was lodged by apprentice A .Sewell, rider of the 4th placegetter, HENRY’S AFFAIR against CARUSMA being declared 3rd, alleging interference over the final 200m. Stewards established that after passing the 200m, HENRY’S AFFAIR was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied as a result of GAMBLING DOLL shifting out. Whilst it was established there were grounds for objection, stewards could not be satisfied that the interference suffered was sufficient to reverse the placings and the protest was therefore dismissed. At a subsequent inquiry, jockey T. Brooker was reprimanded for shifting ground at this point. CARUSMA – Apprentice T. Williams was dislodged without apparent injury from her mount when proceeding to the barriers. Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide. SNOOPER – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Unable to muster early speed. Raced greenly throughout and weakened over the concluding stages of the event. HINTERLAND SAM – Began awkwardly. SOME COLLECT – Slow to begin. TAI CHI SPIRIT – T. Brooker, rider of GAMBLING DOLL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 300m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of TAI CHI SPIRIT, which resulted in that horse being tightened onto the rail and having to be checked. Jockey Brooker was suspended from riding in races for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight, 2 December and to expire at midnight, 14 December. Tightened for room over the concluding stages and had to be steadied when racing to the inside of HINTERLAND SAM, which shifted in. Apprentice H. English, rider of HINTERLAND SAM, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in under pressure. EXCRUCIATE – Raced wide without cover. BUXTON – Raced wide. Raced greenly in the home straight, laying in under pressure and had to be steadied from heels near the 250m. Jockey N. Thomas was obliged to stop riding near the 150m. Race 3: Lallemand Animal Nutrition Class 3 H’cap – 1200m DON’T DOUBT MARLEY - Slow to begin. Raced wide. SHELTER LADY – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and until the 300m. PEKING ROAD – Jumped away awkwardly. VALLESECO – Jumped away awkwardly. Became awkward when placed in restricted room near the 200m and weakened badly from that point onwards. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery. DREAM OF ASCOT – Overraced in the early stages. SAVANNAH ROSE – Overraced approaching the 700m and then shifted wider to avoid heels and raced 3 wide without cover from that point onwards. ROCKY SUPREME – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn. Race 4: Guide Dogs Queensland Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1800m ROCK ON IVY – Slow to begin. OUTSTRIP – Slow to begin. Obliged to race in restricted room and had to be steadied near the 600m. SHE GOES POP – Slow go begin. FAST ARROW – Slow into stride. Overraced in the early stages and obliged to steady away from heels near the 1600m. Shifted wider on the track and raced 4 wide without cover from that point onwards. SHEZA LILY – Overraced in the early and middle stages when the pace slackened. CANONGATE – Overrace passing the 1300m when the pace slackened and obliged to check form heels hear the 1250m. BEAUMARIS – Obliged to race in restricted room and had to be steadied near the 600m. LUCKY LUCRE – Raced 3 wide without cover. Race 5: Clayton’s Towing Service Class 2 H’cap – 1400m NELUMBO – Slow into stride. HEROIC ROCK – Slow to begin. Near the 850m was steadied when placed in restricted room. GODZONE GIRL – Steadied to avoid heels near the 1200m. J. Morris, rider of MONACO PLAYBOY, was reprimanded for this incident. CELLYSE – Overraced in the early stages and when the pace slackened approaching the 900m was obliged to check from the heels of KARAKA LASS. Placed in restricted room passing the 500m and was bumped by another runner and as a result became awkward. KARAKA LASS – Near the 900m improved onto heels when the pace slackened and had to be steadied. Laid in despite the efforts of its rider, inconveniencing another runner near the 500m. CRAIGLEA DETROIT – Steadied to avoid heels near the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage. MR BON VIVANT – Was obliged to steady from heels and lost ground when the pace slackened approaching the 800m. Had some difficulty securing clear running in the home straight. CREATIONIST - Raced wide without cover. Race 6: Myer Maroochydore CG&E Class 1 H’cap – 1200m I AM IMPINGE – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Lloyd indicated that whilst the horse overraced in the early stages he was also of the view that the horse changed stride on a number of occasions from the 800m until entering the home straight and only responded to his riding in the home straight from the 300m onwards. BOGEY MAN – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. HAPPY HOOVES – Laid out under pressure in the home straight, causing its rider to be obliged to stop riding and straighten on 2 occasions. Lost its near fore plate in running. MIGHTY MITTERE – Raced wide without cover. Race 7: Suppawt Guide Dogs Queensland F&M Class 1 H’cap – 1200m SWIPPA DA MOUSE – Trainer T. Thomas was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. BEL CLASSICO – Forced wider approaching the 600m and raced wide from that point onwards. HUSSON BOOTS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Apprentice Z. White reported that her mount travelled well until asked for an effort in the home straight and was quite disappointed as it failed to respond to her urgings. TEAGZ – Jockey M. Cahill reported his mount hung out from the 600m, particularly in the home straight when placed under pressure, causing him to be unable to fully test his mount. ROOIBOS DELUXE – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey M. Hellyer indicated that the horse did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and weakened badly in the home straight. Trainer D. Vandyke confirmed his disappointment in the horse, adding he would look to retiring the horse from his stable.
