Hanson Race 1: Access Insulation Sunshine Coast QTIS 3yo Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1600m DIVINA – Change of tactics. Connections advised if the horse jumps well it will be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. LIGHTNING STORMS – Change of tactics. Connections advised the horse would be ridden back in the field if possible. The horse was ridden accordingly. Jockey L. Tarrant lost his whip near the 350m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. WEEKEND SAGA – Slow to begin. LUCKY CAPTAIN – Jockey R. Stewart reported that, in his opinion, his mount did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event and he felt that this could be attributed to the 6 day back up from its most recent start. Race 2: Stanley River Thoroughbreds Benchmark 75 Handicap – 1800m D’HARMONY – Stable representative Mr M. Hoysted explained that the gelding will now be sent for a freshen up. HI HARRY – Declared a late scratching at 8.39 pm. Trainer D. Kelly was fined $100 for failing to scratch the horse by the prescribed time. Race 3: Access Insulation Toowoomba Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1200m DRIVING WHEELS – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. TREASURE GALLERY – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover. SKYTASTIC – Slow to begin. GET ON – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and became awkward and lost ground. Inconvenienced by another runner after passing the 400m. ESSAKA - Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Open Handicap – 1000m INVINCIBLE EXPRESS – Overraced in the middle stages. LUCKY METEOR – Raced wide without cover. Race 5: Access Insulation Hervey Bay Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap – 1200m BONNY BRIE – Slow to begin. HOTSIE TOTSIE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Placed in restricted room passing the 500m. LOVE BITES – Slow to begin, then hampered shortly after the start. GINGO – Hampered on jumping away. FATAL RENDEZVOUS – Began awkwardly. SHE’S A MITZY – Had to be steadied approaching the 1100m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and had to be steadied from heels after passing the 200m. BLAIREAU EAGLE – The saddle slipped after passing the 800m, placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Raced wide without cover. BLUE PYRAMID – Disappointed for a run after passing the 400m. Race 6: Stanley River Thoroughbreds CG&E Maiden Handicap – 1200m PAGE ONE – Connections advised the horse would be ridden on speed if possible. The horse was ridden aggressively in the early stages, however settled in a midfield position. POTAWATOMI – Declared a late scratching at 8.43 pm when unable to be loaded into the barriers. Race 7: Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Class 1 Handicap – 1400m HESEZSO – As L. Cassidy was to be overweight, L. Tarrant was substituted as the rider of the horse. Jockey Cassidy was fined $100. After being held up rounding the home turn was then disappointed for a run near the 350m and had to be steadied. SAVWELL – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and shifted out to improve near the 400m and made contact with YOU ES COMMANDER. YOU ES COMMANDER – Buffeted by another runner near the 400m.
