Race 1: EASTCOAST HR GROUP MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed while P. Hammersley, the rider of 3rd placegetter RECKLESS CHOICE, viewed the stewards’ patrol footage to determine whether he had grounds on which to lodge an objection against 2nd placegetter HELL OFA GOOD SORT.
 
BIKE TREK – Slow to begin.
 
RECKLESS CHOICE – Slow to begin.
 
HELL OFA GOOD SORT – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with another runner.
 
Race 2: GREEN HOMES AUSTRALIA BRISBANE NORTH QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
TEYSSIER – Cast the near fore plate in running.
 
CUE CUE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
DEVILLAIN – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout.
 
DREAM DANZA – Fractious in its race day stall, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Underwent a further veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and was passed fit to race.
 
UNDERTHEMISTLETOE – Cast the off hind plate leaving the 900m. Raced greenly under pressure after passing the 200m.
 
VON ROSEN – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Race 3: BOOKS & GIFTS DIRECT CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M
 
ZOU DER ZEE – Obliged to race in restricted room in the early stages until being steadied near the 900m.
 
CLANG AGAIN – Cast the near fore plate in running.
 
Race 4: MATER CHICKS IN PINK MAIDEN H'CAP – 1600M
 
PEXBURY AVENUE was declared a late scratching at 1:25 pm on veterinary advice.
 
YANKEE TANGO – Raced wide without cover from the 800m.
 
GOTHIC ROMANCE – Obliged to race in restricted room rounding the home turn and as a result had to be steadied near the 450m.
 
MORESKA SWORD – Obliged to race in restricted room rounding the home turn.
 
ROCK WITH PASSION – Raced three wide without cover.
 
MISSY MUSKETEER – Held up for clear running from the 500m until leaving the 350m.
 
Race 5: MORETON ALL BODY CARE CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1400M
 
IZZAH dislodged N. Thomas whilst proceeding to the barriers, galloped for some distance and made heavy contact with the outside fence of the track, sustaining minor abrasions to the chest. The horse was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:50 pm. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on IZZAH be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:50 pm:
 
19 cents in the dollar for the win #5
15 cents in the dollar for place of winner #5
18 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #8
18 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3
 
Following the event N. Thomas was examined by the Club doctor and found to have sustained a minor injury to his lower right leg.
 
HIDDEN GOLD – Forced wider near the 1000m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
OLD HABITS – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost significant ground. Lost the near fore plate on jumping away. Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
 
SPLENDID STRYKER – As M. McGillivray was not riding due to personal reasons, T. Brooker was substituted as rider.
 
LAVINGTON STAR – Overraced in the early stages and near the 1000m shifted wider on the track.
 
Race 6: VIVA COFFEE CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200M
 
BEL CLASSICO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
PRODUCE ME LATE – Apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount did not travel at any stage in the rain-affected conditions.
 
Race 7: ROBERT POTTS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1400M
 
I’M JUST PINK – Trainer R. Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 140A in that he negligently allowed the horse to be saddled with an extra piece of packing, namely, a towel, which resulted in rider M. Cahill returning to scale 1kg overweight. Mr Wilson was fined $200. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that the negligence had not materially affected the horse’s placing as well as Mr Wilson’s previous good record and forthright evidence.
 
POLY OREOS – Slow to begin.
 
SHE SALUTES – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
Race 8: BETTY ELSLEY MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 62 H'CAP – 1800M
 
WAKE UP VICTA was a late scratching at 8:12 am. Subject to further submissions, trainer L. Gough was fined $100.
 
ENDLESS DON – Slow to begin.
 
NELUMBO – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages before striding forward to a position outside the lead passing the 1100m.
