Race 1: Totally Workwear Palmerston Maiden H’cap – 1600m
 
JET’N’WILD – The start of this race was delayed after the horse case its near fore plate during its preliminary.  The farrier replaced this and the horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.  Slow to begin.
 
AVRNA MOUNTAIN – Cast its off hind plate during the running of the race.  Jockey Hellyer reported at scale it was not his intention to race outside the leader however after beginning well rather than restrain he allowed his mount to stride forward.
 
PIPEMAJOR – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey L. Tarrant was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior the 100m.
 
MO TUCKER – Raced 3 wide in the early stages.
 
PEXBURY AVENUE – Jockey A. Spinks was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 

 
 
 
Race 2: Totally Workwer Kawana Class 3 H’cap – 1000m
 
MANKINI LOVE – Stewards accept the explanation from jockey L. Cassidy for being overweight and unable to fulfil his engagement on the gelding.  Jockey L. Tarrant was substituted as the rider of the horse.
 
ZOUTANA – Over the final stages shifted out under pressure.
 
AQUA DELAGO – Blundered badly after passing the winning post.  
 
LIPS ‘N HIPS – Raced wide without cover.
 
Following this race the track rating was downgraded to Heavy 9.
 
 
Race 3: Butler McDermott Lawyers QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
LIBERTY LASS – Following the running of Race 2 stewards acceded to a request from trainer Mr Stuart Kendrick to scratch the filly at 1.39 pm.   
 
CHARWAY – Slow to begin. Raced greenly during the race and shifted out abruptly over the final stages.
 
CUE CUE – Overraced in the early stages and then was taken wider near the 700m and raced wide without cover from that stage.
 
RIVER FLYER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
GOODONYA SONJA – Shifted out when placed under pressure over the final 100m. Apprentice M. Murphy was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 4: Inshore Build F&M Class 1 H’cap – 1400m
 
TANGO YANKEE – As J. Lloyd was indisposed, J. Byrne was substituted as the rider of the horse.
 
RIVER HUSSY – Slow to begin. Shifted in abruptly near the 200m.
 
I’M JUST PINK – Slow to begin.
 
PARADISKI – Overraced badly in the early stages and when being restrained form the heels of TANGO YANKEE shifted out approaching the 1000m.
 
 
 
Race 5: Desmond C. J. Dunn Memorial CG&E Class 1 H’cap – 1400m
 
VIMSTINCTION – Trainer M. Costa was fined $100 for failing to declare M. Hellyer as the  rider of the horse by the prescribed time.
 
PRODUCE ME LATE – Slow to begin.
 
RED PHANTOM – Inconvenienced at the start.
 
FOXY AFFAIR – Obliged to steady from heels near the 700m.
 
 
Race 6: Stemm Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1200m
 
MALKARA - Trainer M. Costa was fined $100 for failing to declare S. Cormack as the  rider of the horse by the prescribed time.
 
SHOTACROSS THE BOW – As J. Lloyd was indisposed, S. Cormack was substituted as the rider of the horse. When questioned jockey S. Cormack stated that the gelding could not muster any early speed and despite his urgings did not make any ground, and when placed under pressure from the 600m failed to respond.  Jockey Cormack added that, in his view, the gelding would be better suited in races over a further distance, and that the horse would take a fitness benefit from today’s race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
 
EXCELLENT SPIRIT – Declared a late scratching at 4.07 pm on veterinary advice after the horse reared up and became cast in the barriers.   Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse would ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable:
 
0 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
 
Race 7: Ken Mills Toyota Class 2 H’cap – 1600m
 
QUEEN OF HEIGHTS – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The mare subsequently ridden accordingly. Overraced when racing 3 wide without cover.
 
TISANI GREY – During the preliminary dislodged apprentice T. Marshall and gelding  galloped a short distance before being recaptured.  Apprentice Marshall was examined by the ambulance officers and was passed fit to take his ride. TISANI GREY was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and passed fit to start. Slow to begin.
 
ROMAN DOLL –  Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the home straight until near the 300m. Raced 3 wide.
 
LA CHATTE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
COURAGE WITHIN – Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
PORTSEA – Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
THE OVERDRAFT – Cast  its near hind plate during the race.
