Carey _________________________________ Race 1: Butler McDermott Lawyers Maiden H’cap (2) – 1000m NOT SO WILD – Shifted in near the 900m and had to be steadied from heels as a result. ROGUE DRUMMER – Shifted out abruptly and became awkward near the 400m. WHITWORTH – Apprentice A. Fancourt reported it had been her intention to lead, however was unable to do so and was caught 3 wide without cover, and the horse then commenced to hang out. Race 2: Caloundra RSL Maiden H’cap (1) – 1000m ACE STRYKER – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. GLITTER TOP – Bumped by another runner on jumping away. Jockey A. Allen dropped his whip near the 250m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. HONEST NATALIE – Jumped away awkwardly, losing ground, and then raced greenly throughout. COUNTESS NATALIE – Laid in throughout the event. Trainer R. Smith was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Race 3: Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1000m COASTAL BOY – Kicked by another runner in the barriers. A veterinary examination cleared the horse to start. READY SET BOOM – Jumped away very awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition and another runner and as a result lost ground. Heavily bumped by another runner approaching the home turn and again approaching the 300m. CRAIGLEA ELLA – Bumped by another runner on jumping away and as a result its rider was almost dislodged. Shifted out approaching the 400m and made heavy contact with another runner and again made contact with another runner when shifting out to obtain clear running approaching the 300m. PERFECT AIM – Shifted out abruptly near the 200m, causing its rider to stop riding after becoming unbalanced. Race 4: Oaks Hotel & Resorts Maiden H’cap – 1400m STRIKER THOMAS – As M. Cox was to be overweight, R. Stewart was substituted as the rider of the horse. Jockey Cox was fined $100. Raced wide. FOXARELLI – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey M. Cahill was fined $500 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. COUNTRY LUCK – Tightened for room on jumping away. RECKLESS CHOICE – Held up from the 600m until passing the 400m. NICALATI – Raced 3 wide without cover. DER SIEGER - Cast its near hind plate in running. Race 5: Hot 91.1 Class 4 H’cap – 1600m TAIYOSHIN – Tightened for room at the start and obliged to race in restricted room during the early stages. Apprentice B. Nothdurft reported his mount did not travel comfortably at any stage due to the rain affected conditions. HIDDEN GOLD - Tightened for room at the start and obliged to race in restricted room during the early stages. Overraced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running from approaching the 400m until near the 350m. PERFORATION – A post race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress and had sustained an abrasion to the off side stifle. Race 6: Yalumba Class 1 H’cap – 1600m PRIEST’S ROAD – Change of tactics. Connections advised that from the good barrier draw the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Jumped away extremely awkwardly and shifted out, causing interference to runners on its outside. When being steadied passing the 1400m commenced to overrace and raced ungenerously at heels until approaching the 800m. SHE SALUTES – Tightened for room at the start and had to be checked. SALUTE THE PRINCE – Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied. MIABLA - Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied. Race 7: H & H Air Conditioning Class 1 H’cap – 1200m CASSAVANCE – Declared a late scratching at 3.27 pm when the filly would not leave the enclosure and proceed to the barriers. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on CASSAVANCE were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. 14 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets15 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win13 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets Connections were advised that CASSAVANCE would be stood down until it completes one satisfactory trial. TALPUS – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be making an upper respiratory noise. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, would be required prior to its next race start. UNIQUE MAGIC – Jockey M. Hellyer reported his mount did not travel comfortably at any stage in the rain affected conditions. Race 8: Eumundi Lager Class 6 Plate – 1400m DEITCH – Lunged forward and made contact with the barriers just prior to the start being effected and as a result was slow to begin. Overraced after passing the 1200m when the pace slackened. PRIVATE HERO – Slow to begin. CAUTHEN’S POWER – Displayed an abnormal respiratory noise post race. Connections were advised that it was now their intention to retire the horse from racing. Stewards informed connections they would be required to provide a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to its next race start should their intentions change. Race 9: Access Insulation Class 2 H’cap 1400m VENETIAN BEAUTY – When the pace slackened near the 900m overraced onto heels and had to be steadied. LORD CHAMBERLAIN – Raced wide from the 800m.
