GENERAL
 
As apprentice J. Hodge was indisposed due to injury, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: WHOLESALE SOLAR INSTALLERS QTIS 3YO BM65 H’CAP – 1000M
 
JUST FAVULOUS – Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
BLUE ON BLACK – Raced very greenly throughout.
 
Race 2: PUB MOOLOOLABA F&M BM62 H’CAP – 1000M
 
DANGEROUS BEHAVIOR, which became fractious in the barriers and got its leg caught between the back gates, was declared a late scratching at 12:52 pm on veterinary advice that the horse had sustained lacerations above the nearside hock. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on DANGEROUS BEHAVIOR be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 12:52 pm

11 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4
8 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #2
 
TEAGZ – A veterinary examination revealed the horse to be coughing post-race and to be exhibiting abnormal respiratory noises. Trainer M. Mair was advised that prior to the horse racing again he will be required to provide a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination.
 
MYMMING – Slow to begin. Shifted out after leaving the 500m in an attempt to secure clear running and in doing so made contact with another runner and became unbalanced and then continued to have difficulty securing clear running until leaving the 300m.
 
MAGIC INK – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and again approaching the 200m.
 
ESSAKA – Held up rounding the home turn and then had difficulty securing clear running until approaching the 200m.
 
LOADED AND READY – Bumped by another runner after passing the 500m and continued to be inconvenienced until passing the 300m.
 
Race 3: CALOUNDRA HOTEL CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1400M
 
KING TORIO – Significantly slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heat stress.
 
MONACO PLAYBOY – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.
 
WHODUNNIT – Had a tendency to lay out throughout the event.
 
TURKANA – Laid in throughout the event, more so under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 4: INCLUSIVE KIDS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
As C. Franklin was to be overweight, S. Lacy was substituted as the rider of DOONYA. C. Franklin was fined $100.
 
ROGUE DRUMMER – Trainer T. Thomas advised that the horse would be ridden back in the field if circumstances permit. The horse settled at the rear of the field. Mr Thomas was reprimanded for failing to notify a change of tactics by the prescribed time. Improved into a position where there was questionable racing room when overracing near the 800m and was then further tightened for room and had to be steadied. Restrained from heels on a number of occasions between the 600m and the 400m.

BLACK MOUNTAIN – Connections advised that it would be the intention for the horse not to lead but to obtain cover. The horse was ridden accordingly and, due to the slow pace set in the early stages, overraced badly and was restrained from heels on a number of occasions prior to the 800m and at that point shifted wider on the track and raced wide from that point onwards. Bumped by another runner when it was obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.
 
MOONLIGHT DIAMOND – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to race. Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Loakes was advised that, in light of today’s poor performance, the gelding’s nomination at TAB venues would be refused until such time as the horse establishes country form.
 
BELLE ROC – Overraced badly in the early stages. Checked from heels near the 600m. Had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn.
 
DARK ORPHAN – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer G. Clarke was reprimanded for negligence in saddling the filly when it was established that he had incorrectly applied the girth cover when saddling the filly. Mr Clarke was advised that in light of today’s performance, a warning would placed on the filly for being uncompetitive.
 
STONEFISH – Overraced badly in the early stages. Shifted out to avoid heels near the 700m and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
TESTA DONNA – Improved on to heels and had to be checked when the pace again slackened passing the 600m. Again restrained from heels near the 500m.  Checked from heels near the 300m when unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 5: KAWANA HOTEL MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
Apprentice C. Gallagher was struck in the head by another runner during the preliminary in Race 4 and after being examined was stood down by the Club doctor and replacements for his rides in Races 5 and 6 were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
The start of this race was delayed when GLOBAL CHOICE, which had been kicked by another runner, underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to race.
 
COLTON – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout and had to be steadied when placed in restricted room near the 900m and again near the 700m before improving on to heels and having to be steadied near the 500m. Raced greenly again in the home straight when attempting to secure clear running prior to the 300m.
 
IMPLACABLE – Tightened for room and had to be checked on jumping away.
 
GEM OF THE LOCHS – Raced wide throughout.
 
ANNIE DAZZLER – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout.
 
GLOBAL CHOICE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Overraced at heels after passing the 600m and shifted out, making heavy contact with another runner. Disappointed for a run in the home straight and was obliged to steady after passing the 300m and shift out to secure clear running.
 
PLAY NOW – Bumped heavily by another runner after passing the 600m and had to be steadied to avoid heels. S. Lacy reported that her mount hung out over the concluding stages.
 
TAHITIAN FLYER – Raced wide throughout.
 
TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP – Jumped awkwardly, making heavy contact with another runner.
 
Following this event, M. Du Plessis, who was kicked by a horse behind the barriers, was examined by the Club doctor and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
Race 6: GOLDEN BEACH TAVERN C,G&E BM62 H’CAP – 1000M
 
FIRE WITHIN – Slow to begin.
 
DOOM – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
KAPSTAR – Raced awkwardly with its head in the air throughout the event.
 
PORN STAR PETE – Blundered near the 500m.
 
Race 7: PELICAN WATERS TAVERN CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1600M
 
HUSSON’S PRIDE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
ABLE ENGINE – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with another runner.
 
ARISTOCRAT – Bumped at the start. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. R. Wiggins was fined $300 for weighing in in excess of half a kilogram over his allotted weight.
 
BLACKMAILER – Overraced in the early stages.
 
INVERARAY – Raced three wide without cover.
 
SILENT FLYER – Restrained to avoid heels near the 600m. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
CARTAGENA – Apprentice H. English reported that her mount laid out throughout the event.
 
Race 8: APL POKER CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
 
DEADLY SHADOW – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DIDN’T MENTION IT – Connections that the horse would be ridden off the pace if circumstances permit. The horse settled at the rear of the field. Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MCCARTNEY – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
D’LEEAJET – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 200m.
 
BONDI BATTLE – Laid in throughout the event, more so when under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice H. English dropped her whip near the 150m.
