Race 1: Take In The Gold Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1000m
 
ORADONNA – Trainer L. Gough was fined $100 for presenting the horse late to the enclosure. Raced wide without cover.
 
ODELIA – Reared as the start was effected and lost significant ground.  Obliged to alter course approaching the 100m in order to secure clear running.
 
DESERT COWBOY – Jumped away awkwardly.  Apprentice S. Lacy reported she had been instructed to race in a forward position, however was unable to muster sufficient early speed.
 
NAVY – Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount raced greenly and was somewhat field shy when under pressure in the home straight.
 
HIGH COST – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
I AM VENUS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DREAM KISSES – Raced wide without cover
 
ALASKAN WOLF – Bled during the event. As this was the second time the mare has bled, a lifetime bar from racing will be imposed. 
 
 
SHAKIRA – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished a distant last. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be coughing. Connections were advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination and veterinary clearance, with the results provided to stewards, and must also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 2: Happy Birthday Sally Class 3 Plate – 1200m
 
UMBERTO – Was severely tightened for room and had to be checked on jumping away.
 
MEDITERRANEAN – Tightened for room and had to be checked on jumping away.  Raced 3 wide for the entire race.
 
LINLITHGOW – Jumped away awkwardly, making heavy contact with another runner.
 
ALL EEZ – Tightened for room and inconvenienced on jumping away. When the pace slackened near the 800m shifted out to avoid heels, and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
PRINCE OF FLINDERS – Significantly tightened for room and had to be checked on jumping away.
 
YEAHNAH – Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with another runner.
 
GOOD TIME CHARLIE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MISS WONDERLAND – Overraced when the paced slackened approaching the 800m.
 
EMTEVEE QUEEN -  Overraced when the paced slackened approaching the 800m.
 
TAWFIG BOY – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
POSTMASTER GENERAL – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Connections were advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination, and also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
Following this event the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.
 
 
Race 3: The Beach Houses Holiday Apartments Cotton Tree QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1200m
 
PINCH MEMORY – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 800m and had to be checked.
 
STAYING BLACK – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
FULL NELSON – Overraced whilst in a 3 wide position in the early and middle stages.  When asked to comment whether he had considered allowing the horse to stride forward to the lead, jockey S. Galloway indicated for a short distance passing the 850m he had considered allowing the horse to stride forward, however was of the opinion he would not be able to comfortably cross runners to the inside and elected to continue to restrain.  After reviewing the video footage stewards were satisfied with jockey Galloway’s explanation.
 
THE LAST SEQUALO – Hung out badly throughout the event and near the 500m had to be restrained to avoid heels.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to its mouth. The trainer’s representative was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.
 
HOLD THE LINE – Jockey J. Lloyd lost the use of his off-side rein over the final 50m, causing him to not fully test his mount.
 
 
Race 4: Crucks Sunshine Coast Benchmark 90 H’cap – 2200m
 
I’M BELUCCI – Overraced in the early stages. Bumped by another runner passing the 400m. Was restrained after passing the 300m.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have suffered an injury to the near foreleg with suspensory damage.  The horse was treated by the oncourse veterinary surgeon and transported back to the stables of trainer D. Forster for further assessment.   Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.
 
OUTRAGED – Which overraced in the early stages, shifted wider on the track near the 1800m and improved in a 3-wide position until settling outside the lead passing the 1000m.
 
ENDLESS DAYS – Overraced badly in the early stages and was checked from heels on a number of occasions, and near the 1700m shifted wider, inconveniencing EXOTERIC and forcing that runner wider on the track.
 
EXOTERIC – Inconvenienced near the 1700m and forced wider. Was unable to obtain clear running after passing the 400m when the gelding was reluctant to obtain a tight run between runners and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
VASSAL – Forced wider for a short distance after passing the 1700m.
 
TUMULTUOUS – Shifted out to improve passing the 400m and in doing so made contact with another runner.
 
 
Race 5: Angove Wines Open H’cap – 1000m
 
HARD STRIDE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
BRAVE DAZZLER – Tightened for room at the start.
 
PUBLISHING POWER – Jumped awkwardly, bumping another runner. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages and obliged to alter course in the straight to secure clear running.  
 
RAIDO – Jumped awkwardly.
 
TISANI TOMSO – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight, causing runners to the outside to be inconvenienced over the concluding stages. Jockey D. Smith, rider of TISANI TOMSO, was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten.
 
BONSHO – Placed in restricted room over the concluding stages and had to be steadied.
 
SAIPAN – Placed in restricted room over the concluding stages and had to be steadied.
 
GUARD OF HONOUR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 6: Maroochy Surf Club Open H’cap – 1400m
 
ZUMBELINA – As L. Cassidy was to be overweight, J. Lloyd was substituted as the rider of the horse.  Jockey Cassidy was fined $100.
 
GLENDARA – Slow to begin.
 
SONY LEGEND – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
 
TIME TO TORQUE – Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
SABKHAT – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had was suffering from thumps. Trainer S. O’Dea indicated the horse would now be sent for a spell.  
 
 
Race 7: Konami Gaming Benchmark 85 H’cap – 1200m
 
SPUR LE JOUER – Slowly into stride.
 
ARENA SALON – When the pace slackened approaching the 800m was obliged to steady from heels and overraced for a short distance afterwards.
 
TROIS CHOIX – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
TVERSKY – Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
LUCKY METEOR – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
SHESEES EVERYTHING – Raced wide.
 
 
Race 8: Property Today Real Estate Class 6 Plate – 1600m
 
PRIORTISE – Steadied when placed in restricted room after passing the 1300m, then overraced before shifting to a 3 wide position to avoid heels and then raced 3 wide from the 1200m onwards.
 
VICTORY EIGHT – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
NATURAL BLACK – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
PRESSWAY – Apprentice Guthman-Chester stated the horse travelled well in running in a position trailing the eventual winner, and after initially responding to his riding in the early stages of the straight, proved  disappointing over the concluding stages.  Trainer S. O’dea advised stewards in light of today’s performance, the horse would more than likely be sent for a spell.

Race 9: Yalumba Wines Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1400m
 
DAPPER ONE – Restrained at the start to take up a position closer to the rail.
 
HINGUS ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
RISING STOCK – When restrained to take cover passing the 1200m overraced for some distance.
 
DEER MOUNTAIN – Held up for clear running from the 500m until approaching the 300m.
 
SACRED REBEL – Jockey G. Colless reported his mount travelled well  after obtaining the lead comfortably, however failed to respond to his riding in the home straight.  A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow post race recovery and making an abnormal respiratory nose. Connections were advised that veterinary clearance must be provided, and  the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination with the results forwarded to stewards.
 
MISHANI PHOENIX – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and then laid in under pressure.
 
BOLD SHOT – Had difficulty securing clear running near the 300m and again near the 100m.
 
BOLD ROCKET – Held up over the concluding stages.
 
MAKES YOU THINK – Jockey M. McGillivray reported his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
 
FRENCH HUSSLER – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALL IN THE REFLEXS – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
 
ROMNEY’S CHOICE – Raced wide.
