MAGIC MISSILE – Trainer B. Lockwood was reprimanded for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card. Finished tailed off. Lockwood was advised that MAGIC MISSILE must trial satisfactorily and he must produce a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG, prior to the horse being permitted to race again.

GEM OF THE LOCHS – Obliged to alter course in the early stages of the home straight to obtain clear running.

COUNTLESS ROCK – Raced wide throughout.

As further rain had fallen immediately prior to and during this event, following the running of the race the track was downgraded to HEAVY 8 retrospective.

L. Tarrant was examined by the Club doctor post-race and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.

Race 7: BELL POTTER QTIS 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford M. Du Plessis, the rider of 2nd placegetter TOO HOT TO HOLD, the opportunity of viewing the stewards’ patrol footage in the straight to determine whether he had grounds on which to lodge an objection against the winner DULCIE TIE. After viewing the videos, jockey Du Plessis indicated that he did not wish to lodge an objection.

ARC OF GOLD – Jumped awkwardly. Improved into a narrow run near the 450m where there was insufficient racing room and had to be steadied.

DENMAN ‘N’ LACE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly had poor post-race recovery.

DULCIE TIE – Raced greenly after overracing for a short distance near the 800m and shifted out abruptly and then raced three wide without cover from that point onwards. Raced very greenly under pressure in the home straight. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.

NOOKS AND CRANNIES – Jumped awkwardly.

PEERLESS CRUISE – Hampered on jumping away.

SOWHAT IMAROCKSTAR – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.

Race 8: URSIN. DK HAIR SALON CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M

BEAT THE BEAST – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Steadied from heels near the 500m after attempting to improve where there was insufficient room.

MORION – Fractious in the barriers.

COASTAL BOY – Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide without cover.

DON’T DOUBT LARA – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Finished tailed off. M. McGillivray reported that at no stage did the horse travel comfortably and was under pressure from the 600m onwards. Trainer S. Kendrick indicated that he was at a loss to explain the performance, adding that he expected a forward showing on the horse’s work. He advised that the horse will undergo an endoscopic examination in ensuing days, the finding of which he will report to stewards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 9: YAROOMBA BEACH CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1800M

Stewards inquired into the early stages of the event and the circumstances resulting in the pace of the race being only steady during the first 600m, which was run in a time of 41 seconds. Stewards took evidence from M. Gray (BRAMWELL), M. McGillivray (SKY ONE), apprentice H. English (DEE CEE DELIGHTS) and R. Ride (GILDED LION). It was established that after being ridden vigorously to obtain the lead, GILDED LION was then restrained after passing the 1700m which resulted in DEE CEE DELIGHTS, racing to the inside, also steadying as apprentice English was of the view that GILDED LION would cross to the fence. As a result of both horses being steadied, this caused BRAMWELL to be restrained from heels and shift out, and also caused SKY ONE to steady from heels. After taking into account the circumstances and the evidence provided, stewards issued jockey Ride a reprimand under AR. 137(d) in that during the first 600m of the event she did, in the opinion of the stewards, overly steady the pace which caused interference to BRAMWELL, D’LEEAJET and SKY ONE. Stewards were satisfied that the interference was not sufficient to warrant further action.

SKY ONE – Steadied from heels after passing the 1700m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

RED BALTER – Due to the slow pace in the early stages and whilst being caught wide, the gelding was ridden forward to the lead passing the 1000m. Lost the off fore plate in running.

D’LEEAJET – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels after passing the 1700m.

DARESAY – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

BRAMWELL – Steadied after passing the 1700m.

DEE CEE DELIGHTS – Steadied after passing the 1700m.
