Race 1: Sommer’s Fuel Supplies Class 3 H’cap – 1000m
Correct weight was delayed when apprentice M. Murphy requested that his mount, PRIDE OF DESTINY, be declared a non runner. Mr Murphy indicated he was of the opinion that the barrier attendant, whom he had asked to assist in the barriers, may have held the horse’s head as the start was effected. Stewards after taking evidence from Mr Murphy and trainer Mr L. Gough, in the presence of the horse’s owners, and viewing the patrol footage, were satisfied that just prior to the start being effected, PRIDE OF DESTINY had become fractious and a barrier attendant had attempted to straighten the horse’s head. However as the start was effected, PRIDE OF DESTINY again turned its head to the near-side and began awkwardly, making heavy contact with the barrier partition and losing ground. Stewards were satisfied that if not for the barrier manners of PRIDE OF DESTINY, the horse had been afforded a fair start and declared the horse a runner upon the declaration of correct weight.
DOCTOR ZED – Jumped away awkwardly.
PRIDE OF DESTINY – Improved onto heels after passing the 700m and shifted wider on the track, inconveniencing another runner.
SAYONARAMOSA – Inconvenienced after passing the 700m.
Race 2: Workplace Central QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1000m
FAEAQUA – Reared behind the barriers, dislodging its rider. Jockey L. Cassidy was unable to fulfil his engagement due to being winded, and the horse was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.12 pm. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with no deductions applicable.
BUSTER MOON – Raced wide throughout. Jockey M. Hellyer reported the gelding hung out throughout the event and he was unable to fully test it over the concluding stages.
TURMOIL - Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with another runner.
HARD YAGA – Hampered on jumping away. Was disappointed for a run near the 300m and jockey L. Tarrant was obliged to stop riding and shift out in an attempt to secure clear running. Then laid in whilst improving onto heels approaching the 200m and blundered badly.
LOVES WOGER WING – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner.
EPIC GIRL – Bumped by another runner and inconvenienced at the start. Jockey R. Wiggins was fined $200 for using his whip more the 5 times prior to the 100m.
ELEGANT ZOUS – Slow to begin.
VISERION – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
SNEAKY LOVER - Bumped by another runner and inconvenienced at the start.

THE FULL MONTY – Declared a late scratching 12.35 pm on veterinary advice after being injured in its float en route to the track.
DANDY IDEA – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey Gallagher reported his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
THE CANDY MAN – Jockey M. Cahill used whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m and was reprimanded. Lost its off hind plate in running.
Following this event the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.

MELBERN QUEENS – Overraced in the middle stages.
HARLIN ROSE – Shifted in abruptly over the concluding stages, causing its rider to stop riding and straighten.
ARQUERA – Apprentice S. Lacy reported her mount raced greenly throughout and laid out under pressure in the straight.
GYPSY’S TIP – Lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 5: PFD Food Services RQ Summer Provincial Series-Heat-Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1200m
GREGORY – Trainer B. Smith was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Slow to begin.
DEITCH – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
Race 6: Nat McCall Racing Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1600m
FIRST STIMULUS – Slow to begin. When attempting to improve around ARAZONA rounding the home turn, initiated heavy contact with MISS SEVERINA and was then disappointed for a run and had to be checked from the heels of ARAZONA. Jockey M. Hellyer, rider of FIRST STIMULUS, was reprimanded for attempting to improve into a position where there was insufficient room.
TREASURE GALLERY – Slow to begin.
MISHANI PHOENIX – Apprentice J. Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift out under pressure near the 200m, resulting in ARAZONA being forced wider on the track and causing jockey D. Smith to check ARAZONA to avoid the heels of MISHANI PHOENIX at that stage of the race. Apprentice Murphy was suspended from riding in races for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight, 10 November and to expire at midnight, 22 November.
ARAZONA – Checked near the 200m.
MISS SEVERINA – Jockey R. Maloney reported his mount travelled comfortably throughout the race, however from the 600m when attempting to improve around ARAZONA, his mount failed to respond as he had anticipated, and whilst MISS SEVERINA did receive interference at the 400m and again near the 200m, he was disappointed with the horse’s overall performance, and indicated the mare would benefit from a break from racing.
Race 7: Caloundra Towing – Tow N Ride Class 2 H’cap – 1400m
STAR SILK – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Overraced from approaching the 900m when the pace was only steady. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and made contact with another runner.
ALL APOLOGIES – Slow to begin. Overraced when the pace was only steady after passing the 900m and as a result shifted wider on the track when approaching the 700m and travelled 3 wide from that point.
SHINNECOCK – Bumped by another runner approaching the 300m. Stewards inquired into the riding of apprentice M. Murphy as to his reasons for allowing his mount to settle 3 wide outside the lead whilst the pace of the race was only steady. Apprentice Murphy stated after allowing CHARWAY to cross in the early stages he felt he would obtain a position behind that horse one off the fence, however STAR SILK improved quickly to his inside near the 1200m and that caused him to be 3 wide. At a point near the 1100m he felt that his mount was travelling comfortably and did not feel he would be able to obtain the lead without overly exerting his mount and elected to travel in a 3 wide position. After reviewing the films with apprentice Murphy, stewards noted his explanation, however advised apprentice Murphy that he had erred in failing to assess the pace of the race was moderate at best and he would have been better served pressuring the horse to cross to the lead in the back straight, however given his status as an apprentice did not take the matter any further. Apprentice M. Murphy was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
