Race 1: Capricorn Patios F&M BM62 H’cap – 1000m
 
WANNA BLUE – Declared a late scratching at 1.06 pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the barriers, reared up and then got its near hind leg through the back gate.  Subsequently all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
7 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
10 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
9 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets.
 
Trainer S. Kendrick was advised the filly would required a further barrier certificate before racing again. 
 
JAYAQUA – Slow to muster speed in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Shifted out under pressure over the final stages of the event.
 
SHE’S A MITZY – Apprentice T. Williams reported the mare had a tendency to lay in throughout the race.
 
SIMPLY SO – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
 
Race 2:  Shine Building Maiden H’cap – 1800m
 
SPEAKING BETTER – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.28 pm after becoming cast in the race day tie-up stalls and sustaining lacerations to its off hind leg.   Subsequently all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
5 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
6 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
8 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets.
 
BUXTON – Slow to begin.
 
RISEUPSKATING – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 3: The Surf Club Mooloolaba Lov’n Locals QTIS 3yo C & G – 1000m
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Began very awkwardly, then raced greenly throughout.
 
RICHETTI – Began awkwardly, unbalancing its rider.
 
MARK OF THE CLASS – Bumped on jumping away.
 
HARD YAGA – Began awkwardly.
 
ANGELS OF FENWAY – Commenced to hang out after passing the 600m.
 
HINANO – Overraced in the early stages, then raced greenly when weakening passing the 200m.  
 
 
Race 4:  Choices Flooring Maroochydore QTIS 3yo Fillies Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
QUEEN OF ARCHES – Slow to begin.
 
MAHUSSEY – Began awkwardly.
 
BUB’S GOLD – Began awkwardly. Passing the 200m was obliged to steady away from the heels of ENTERPRISE LOUISE, which shifted out to improve. Jockey A. Fancourt, rider of  ENTERPRISE LOUISE, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
ENTERPRISE LOUISE – Began awkwardly. Passing the 350m was slightly inconvenienced when racing in restricted room. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running before shifting out passing the 200m to gain clear running. Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
MERRINGLY – Was slightly hampered passing the 850m when QUEEN OF ARCHES shifted out.  Put in an awkward stride after passing the 600m and then became awkward on straightening.  From the 300m rider T .Harrison elected not to pressure her mount for the remainder of the race as she felt something may have  been amiss with the filly.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer G. Hay advised that it now would be his intention to send the filly for a spell. However stewards advised Mr Hay that the MERRINGLY would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards before racing again.
 
BIT OF ALRIGHT – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5: Sutton Constructions CG&E BM62 H’cap – 1000m
 
VALARIO – Began awkwardly.
 
FLIP DE GLOIRE – Was bumped and then tightened for room on jumping away.
 
THE ADMINISTRATOR – Bumped and tightened for room on jumping away. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
VIRAL – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
TRAVELLO – Bumped and tightened for room on jumping away.
 
UPPEMBAK – On jumping was severely bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
BOOM BOY – Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between MISTOFFELEES and PRIDE OF DESTINY. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
PRIDE OF DESTINY – Approaching the 600m when being restrained in an attempt to gain cover was awkwardly placed at the heels of TREVELLO, and whilst being restrained commenced to overrace and got its head up, and raced very ungenerously, placing its rider in some difficulty.  
 
JUSTIFY – Jockey M. McGillivray reported that he felt the gelding was awkward in its action over the concluding stages.   A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 6: MGI – Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
MOUNTBATTEN – After being loaded into the barriers reared and its rider was dislodged. The horse underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.  In this incident the ear muffs on the horse were damaged and as such raced without this gear.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer S. O’Dea was advised the gelding would required a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
HI ZERO – Slow to begin.
 
SHISHAQ – Slow to begin.
 
HEAVENLY ARCHER – Began awkwardly.
 
IAMPAIDFOR – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SHOWSCAY – Apprentice T. Williams was reprimanded for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 7: Emma Angel Mooloolaba SLSC Ambassador BM75 H’cap – 1800m
 
ROMAN DOLL – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of L. Cassidy as the rider of the horse.  Subsequently, as L. Cassidy was to be overweight, apprentice jockey C. Bayliss was substituted as the rider. Stewards accepted the explanation of L. Cassidy
 
SKYTASTIC – Slow to begin.
 
SHOCKFACTOR – Slow to  begin.
 
FIRST STIMULUS – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
MARTINELLI – After leading for the majority of the race commenced to weaken on entering the home straight and finished a distant last.  Jockey R. Wiggins elected not to pressure his mount over the concluding stages as he felt the horse was awkward in its action.  A post race veterinary examination  revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia and connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided, including the results of an ECG test, and the gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 8: SMS Finance BM65 H’cap – 1400m
 
STAR SILK – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.30 pm after the gelding sustained a cut to the near  foreleg.
 
WAS IT WORTH IT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
HIDDEN GOLD – Slow to begin.
 
IRON CRAFT – Obliged to alter course back to the inside  approaching the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
FLAMIN’ MOGUL – Raced 3 wide throughout without cover.
