Browne as to whether he had opportunity to shift wider rounding the home turn to secure clear running. He indicated PLAY NOW had commenced to weaken to his outside from near the 600m and as a result he would have to steady in order to shift out around that horse’s heels. He elected to remain at the heels of BARNEY as he felt that horse would shift out shortly after straightening and afford him clear running. He was further disappointed however when TRIPLE ARROW shifted out from the inside and took up a position to the inside of BARNEY, which resulted in him being obliged to shift back to the inside to secure clear running, and was afforded clear running from the 300m onwards. After viewing the patrol footage, stewards accepted the explanation tendered by jockey Browne. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees Fines Race 2.
