Race 1: Bridgestone Noosaville QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1000m

The start of this race was delayed due to holding for another venue on Sky Channel.

DEVILS MARBLES – Began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. Overraced in the middle stages and had to be steadied from the heels of another runner near the 600m.

ZAMZARA – Obliged to shift out and was steadied to avoid the heels of another runner near the 900m. As a result of this, the horse was obliged to race wide throughout.

THE ASTROLOGIST – Became extremely awkward in its action near the 900m giving the rider the impression that the horse may have broken down and as a result he restrained his mount for a short distance.  Stewards questioned jockey J. Byrne in relation to this and after viewing the video footage were satisfied with Jockey Byrne’s explanation. Raced wide without cover throughout.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be sore in both forelegs. Stable representative Mr Cornell was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the horse’s next race start.

WOWSERS – Bumped near the 900m.

Race 2: On The Beach Noosa Resort Maiden Plate – 1000m

PER ARDUA – Underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and was cleared to take its place in the field. Jockey L. Tarrant reported his mount became awkward near the 800m and from that point onwards hung out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

TEMERITY – Raced awkwardly near the 700m when inclined to overrace.

Following this race the track rating was upgraded to Heavy 9

Race 3: Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort Maiden H’cap – 1400m

DAWSON DIVA – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

TOO HARD TO CALL – Overraced in the early stages. Shifted out  after passing the 400m initiating contact with another runner whilst weakening.

NIGHT WHISPER – Overraced in the early stages. Became awkward after passing the 400m after receiving contact from another runner.

GET ON – Underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and was cleared to take its place in the field.

SPEAKING BAD – Slow to begin.

MARROCK – Blundered on jumping away. When asked to comment on the horse’s performance, apprentice B. Nothdurft indicated that the horse did not respond to his riding from the 600m and proved disappointing, however he could offer no further explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MAGIC LAD – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out at the start.

Race 5: EFEX Noosa Cup – 1200m

ABSOLUTLYPOSITIVLY – Declared a late scratching at 11 am due to the downgrading of the track to  Heavy 10.

Race 6: Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club RQ Summer Prov Series – Heat - Benchmark 75 H’cap - 1400m

LADY EIGHTY EIGHT - Declared a late scratching at 10.45 am due to the downgrading of the track to  Heavy 10.

KAILENNY – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

BOLD CENTURION – Overraced in the early stages and then raced 3 wide without cover.

ALL APOLOGIES – Slow to begin.  Approaching the 500m was obliged to check from the heels of the weakening BLOOMIN’ ARRY and lost ground. Jockey M. McGillivray was questioned regarding his riding over the final 400m. He explained that after suffering interference  near the 500m the horse dipped on a number of occasions rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight, and for this reason he did not fully pressure the horse in the home straight.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

BLOOMIN ARRY – Commenced to weaken from the 700m, causing interference and finished a distant last. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off hind leg.  Connections were advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily and obtain a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.  Trainer  C. Rabjones-Tyrell advised that the gelding would now be retired.
