MY BOY DRAGON – When bumped by MOSSHIKI near the 1100m became unbalanced and lost ground.

Race 4: AUSTRALIA DAY RACES @ SCTURFCLUB Maiden Plate – 1200m

Stewards considered an objection lodged by J. Lloyd the rider of LAMPLIGHT LILI which finished second against VIBRANT THUNDER (M. McGillivray) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference near the 300m and again inside the 100m. After taking evidence from all parties Stewards were of the opinion that when LAMPLIGHT LILI attempted a run between AMERICAN LOVE and VIBRANT THUNDER it initiated contact with VIBRANT THUNDER, while simultaneously AMERICAN LOVE also shifted out at the same stage. Over the final stages, whilst VIBRANT THUNDER did shift in under pressure, any contact between that runner and LAMPLIGHT LILI occurred after passing the winning post. Stewards were of the view that the contact near the 250m was as a result of the shift by LAMPLIGHT LILI and therefore dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.

TUTOKANULA – After becoming fractious in the barrier, was removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Slow to begin.

HINANO – As a consequence of TUTOKANULA being fractious in the adjoining stall HINANO was also removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

LAMPLIGHT LILI – Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Near the 250m shifted out to obtain clear running and bumped VIBRANT THUNDER.

IN TWO MINDS – Held up for clear running in the home straight and went to the line not fully tested by its rider.

IPSO NEM FELEK – Inside the 200m was disappointed for a run and then had to alter course to the outside of VIBRANT THUNDER in order to improve.

IADOREYOU – Unable to be fully tested over the final 150m.

VIBRANT THUNDER – Raced wide throughout. Jockey  M. McGillivray accidentally dropped his whip near the 200m.

Race 7: TAB Class 2 Handicap – 1000m

SHOWASHADOW – Slow to begin.

WOOKIEE – Slow to begin and then unable to muster any early speed. In the home straight was eased down by its rider. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer L. Birchley was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided and the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.

EXCELEBRAZIONE – Bumped by GOSSIAUX near the 200m and as a result had to be checked from the heels of TEAGZ. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards were satisfied that App H. English the rider of GOSSIAUX had stopped riding and straightened her mount immediately after it shifted ground inwards and therefore took no direct action.

GOSSIAUX – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Near the 200m when tested with the whip shifted in abruptly before being corrected.

RUBY RED HEART – Near the 900m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of TEAGZ, which shifted in when not quite clear. App T. Williams the rider of TEAGZ was issued with a reprimand and advised to give her fellow riders greater clearance in future. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
