ALL DREAMS – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. When questioned as to his tactics adopted, and also the horse’s overall performance, jockey Wiggins indicated that he had only been issued instructions to ensure the horse finds the line strongly as it had been weakening over the concluding stages in previous starts. He added he was also mindful that the horse had overraced badly at its most recent start and did therefore not want to overly pressure the horse in the early stages. For this reason he ultimately was positioned further back in the field than he would have liked as he did not wish to pressure his horse to main a position to the inside of ACEME. He stated that, in his opinion, the horse was doing its best work over the concluding stages and would appreciate a step up in distance at its next race start. Stewards accepted the explanation of jockey Wiggins. MISTA MAYBE – Bumped by another runner and became unbalanced on jumping away. RABBIT HUNTER – Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with another runner and became unbalanced. Improved onto heels approaching the 600m and commenced to hang out and did so until entering the home straight. Stewards questioned jockey M. McGillivray regarding his tactics in the home straight when he directed his mount to the inside of DER SIEGER when there appeared there was opportunity to improve to the outside of that horse. Jockey McGillivray stated that whilst he accepted that there was a run to his outside, he also formed the view there was opportunity to improve to the inside of DER SIEGER and felt that as DER SIEGER had commenced to shift out rounding the home turn he would continue to do so he would be more likely to obtain clear running to the inside of that horse. After viewing the patrol footage stewards accepted the explanation of jockey McGillivray and whilst ultimately shifting back to the inside resulted in his mount having to be steadied near the 250m and directed to the outside to obtain clear running, they were satisfied that his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took no further action.
