Race 1 – Hans Primo QTIS 3yo Maiden H’CAPcap – 1400m 
 
CHEEKY CHOPS – Declared a late scratching at 10.05 am on veterinary advice.  Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied prior to its next race start.
 
CRAIGLEA LUKE – Slow to begin. Lost its off  hind plate in running.
 
WHAT A THOUGHT – Slow to begin.
 
SPIRITUAL ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
CONQUER MEE – Jumped away awkwardly.  Near the 150m was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied before altering course to secure clear running at that point.
 
JOE ALBERT – Tightened for room and had to be checked after passing the 900m when racing to the inside CRAIGLEA MALACHI, which shifted in whilst laying in despite the efforts of its rider.  Was placed in restricted room approaching the 500m when attempting to secure clear running and as a result had to be steadied.
 
CRAIGLEA MALACHI - Hung in interfering with another runner after passing the 900m.  Commenced to weaken after passing the 600m and finished a distant last.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners after hanging in near the 900m, and the horse’s nomination would be refused at TAB venues for failing to be competitive. 
 
Race 2 – Nestle Professional Maiden 4yo & Up H’cap – 1400m 
 
DEBONAIR DES – Jockey M. Hellyer was reprimanded for being overweight. In issuing a reprimand stewards took into account jockey Hellyer’s good record regarding overweight matters.
 
LA BENCA – Slow to begin.
 
METRICAL – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
STYLISH LOVER – Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied.  The horse was pulled up quickly after passing the winning post. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.  Trainer G. Hay indicated he would have veterinary tests performed  in the coming days and would advise stewards of the results. He also indicated he would consider starting  the horse over shorter distances before looking to start the horse at non TAB venues.
 
DRAGON IN THE NORTH – Bumped by other runners on jumping and lost ground as a result. Raced 4 wide without cover.
 
MISS MELRAE – Placed in restricted room shortly after the start when buffeted between runners before being steadied.
 
VANDERWINK – Overraced in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to the lead passing the 800m.
 
OH JAY MOWMOW – Overraced in the early stages and after passing the 600m was held up on heels and had to be steadied.
 
CAPRICE – Lost its near fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 3  – PFD Foodservices Class 4 H’cap – 1000m 
 
LIPS ‘N HIPS – Jumped away awkwardly and  lost ground.
 
INVINCIBLE GANGSTA – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide.
 
MAGIC INK – Disappointed for a run near the 200m and obliged to steady and shifted back to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
SUPER FREAK – Raced wide. Jockey R. Fradd was fined the sum of $100 or using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
LUCKY FIX – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer B. Ahrens advised it was now his intention to spell the gelding.
 
 
 
Race 4 – McCain Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
PLUNGE – Trainer L. Birchley was reprimanded for failing to lodge a stable return advising the horse has now been gelded. Raced wide.
 
MORE THAN CHARGED – Trainer M. Costa was reprimanded for failing to lodge a completed  stable return advising the horse has now been gelded. Declared a late scratching at 2.36 pm on veterinary advice after the horse took charge of its rider when proceeding to the barriers. The following deductions were applicable.  
 
5 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
7 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
8 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
The start of the race was delayed when Durundur Lad displaced the barrier blanket and had to be removed from the barriers to have it reattached. The start again was delayed when jockey R. Stewart, rider of PARISIAN TYCOON, was struck in the face by the head of his mount.
 
INTERACT – On jumping commenced to buck and as a result failed to finish the event. Connections were advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to starting again.
 
DURUNDUR LAD – Shifted in near the 900m and bumped another runner.
 
REZABELLE – Bumped by another runner near the 900m.
 
ME AS I AM – Disappointed for a run near the 300m and as a result had to be steadied and shifted out to secure clear running.
 
CALL ME TILLY – Jockey R. Fradd reported to stewards he was disappointed with the performance of his mount in that it enjoyed a favourable run in the early and middle stage, however failed to finish the race off strongly, adding he was of the opinion the horse would take improvement from today’s run.
 
PARISIAN TYCOON – Raced wide.
 
JULES RULES – Raced wide.
 
ACEME – Raced wide.
 
Race 5 – Steggles Class 1 H’cap – 1000m 
 
The start of this race was delayed  due to the late scratching of MORE THAN CHARGED in  the previous event.
 
DUKATTI – Slow to begin.
 
JELVISS – Slow to begin.
BOOM COUNTY –  Improved on to heels near the 500m and had to be steadied, then shifted wider on the track. Apprentice B .Nothdurft was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
EPIC PIPER – Had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and early stages of the home straight.
 
GO DEEP – Jockey J. Byrne was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
BENNO FIRST – Raced wide throughout.
 
GOSSIAUX -  A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished tailed off revealed no abnormality.  Trainer K. Afford was advised was advised that the horse would be barred from TAB meetings until its form improves.
 
 
Race 6 – Masterfoods Making Dinner Time Matter Class 2 H'cap – 1600m 
 
STOLEN PARADISE  - Became lose in the enclosure and ran into another runner and underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers t and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3.55 pm.

PAT KASH – Was run into by another runner in the enclosure and underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race and was cleared to start.
 
INTIMISSIMI – Blundered near the 500m. INTIMISSIMI – When asked to comment on the performance of his mount, he indicated that given the horse  was carrying top  weight  of 59 kilograms he did not wish to pressure the horse too early.  After securing clear running approaching the 400m the horse did not quicken, which he attributed to the slow early tempo which was set in the event. He also added that the mare  had laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAKATITI – Slow to begin, then shifted out abruptly shortly after the start. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
WENDOUREE RED – Slow to begin.
 
DREAM BIG – Jockey J. Byrne was reprimanded  for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. 
 
 
 
Race 7 – Priestley’s Gourmet Delights F&M Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1400m 
 
SPIRITOSA  - The start of this race was significantly delayed when the horse attempted to jump the outside fence, dislodging its rider, and then when riderless crashed through the outside fence, significantly damaging the fence, which took approximately 10 minutes to repair.  The horse was declared a late scratching at 4.28 pm with the following deductions applicable:
 
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
2 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place  bets
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place  bets
 
A post race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to the near hindleg. Connections were advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.
 
DEVILLAIN – Slow to begin.
 
LOLA’S DIAMOND – When caught wide in the early stages was then ridden forward to a position outside the lead approaching the 800m.
 
ZOULOU DANCER – Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
FAST ARLI – When approaching the 200m was steadied as a result of being placed in restricted room before shifting out at that point to secure clear running.
 
GOLDEN LILLY – Rider A. Fancourt was fined the sum of $100 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
TREASURE GALLERY – Apprentice C. Bayliss was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 8 – Cracker Barrell Gold CG&E Benchmark 65 H'cap – 1400m 
 
The starting time for this event was rescheduled to 5.15 pm.
 
PRINCE MANITOU – Slow to begin. Then overraced badly in the early and middle stages, having to be checked from heels on a number of occasions.
 
STAR ECHO – Near the 1200m was tightened and had to be steadied. Shifted out in the home straight and bumped another runner on a number of occasions. When asked to comment on the horse’s performance he expressed disappointment in the overall effort. He added the  horse hung out and raced greenly for the majority of the race, placing him at a disadvantage. Jockey Maloney  suggested connections experiment with the horse’s gear prior to its next race start.
 
CASINO GARDENS – Near the 1200m was tightened for room and had to be steadied.   A short distance later had to be steadied away from the heels of RAISE AN ARMY, which shifted in.  Bumped by another runner in the home straight on a number of occasions.
 
FALMIN’ MOGUL – Raced in restricted room passing the 900m and had to be steadied and then overraced at heels until approaching the 600m.
 
RAISE AN ARMY – Rider T. Brooker was severely reprimanded for allowing the gelding to shift in near the 1200m, tightening runners to the inside.
