WarwickStarter – R. Hanson General As B. Stewart was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet ___________________________________ Race 1: Kawana Dolphinns Rugby League Fillies & Mares Maiden H’cap - 1000m The start of this race was delayed when SONO DOLCE proved difficult to load and SHE’S WHITTIE got its off hind leg up on the side step of the barrier partition. ROYAL SEATTLE – Trainer B. Gorman was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which raced very greenly throughout, finished tailed off, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections were advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start. PRINCESS RACER – Slow to begin. SINGLE LASS – Bumped on jumping away and lost ground. SPECIAL FLIGHT – Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with another runner. PURE INDULGENCE – Held up during the early stages of the home straight. SHE’S WHITTIE – Raced wide throughout without cover. CHAMPAGNE PARTY – Raced wide without cover. SONO DOLCE – Raced wide. MIRACLESFROMHEAVEN – Raced wide. Inclined to lay in throughout the event, particularly after passing the 450m when placed under pressure, causing the horse to be restrained from heels near the 350m and causing its rider difficulties in placing the horse under full pressure for the remainder of the event. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse. Race 2: Higgins Coatings Fillies & Mares Maiden H’cap – 1400m BUSINESS AS USUAL – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace after passing the 1000m, improved onto heels and had to be checked severely after leaving the 800m. LA MISKA – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Overraced in the early stages. After being held up rounding the home turn was disappointed for a run to the outside of the weakening GROLNA, and when that horse shifted ground was obliged to check from heels severely approaching the 300m, and this caused his mount to make heavy contact with TRUSTABLE. PUMPKIN DIAMOND - Tightened for room shortly after the star and had to be steadied. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had been galloped on on the near side hock. ROSE OF BISCAY – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event. CONSTRUE – Held up approaching the 400m and again had some difficulty securing clear running near the 350m. TRUSTABLE – Was buffeted between runners approaching the 300m. MONGELICA – Raced 3 wide without cover. MAY I SAY – Raced wide throughout. KUMARI – Raced wide throughout. MADAM LOVE – Mr D. Hansen, trainer of the winner MADAM LOVE, was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance and tactics to lead in tonight’s event. He indicated that his rider had been instructed to lead at the mare’s most recent start, which was the only start for which he has trained the horse. Stewards perused the video of its last start and accepted that the rider had attempted to lead on the horse. Trainer Hansen indicated MADAM LOVE in tonight’s event had been able to secure the lead more easily as there was less pace in tonight’s race and felt the step up in distance to 1400m was beneficial. Whilst noting that the stable was somewhat surprised that MADAM LOVE won tonight, they had expected a more forward showing given that the rider had suggested at the horse’s most recent start that the mare had not appreciated the tight turning track at Kilcoy. Race 3: King Loan Market Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1600m NIATROSS – Slow to begin. DREAMALINA – Overraced badly after being crossed near the 1300m and had to be significantly checked from heels at that point. PIPEMAJOR – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 4: Earthborn Australia Class 4 H’cap – 1200m Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards after reviewing the photo-finish image raised concerns with the Judge regarding his decision to declare a dead-heat for third between CONQUERMORE and WHODUNNIT. After taking evidence from the Judge Paul Chilton and considering evidence from Mr L. Ross, trainer of WHODUNNIT, and Mr D. Groves, trainer of CONQUERMORE, in the presence jockey R. Goltz, rider of CONQUERMORE, stewards were satisfied that a margin did exist between the 2 runners and as a result, acting under the powers of AR214(4)(b) altered the placings and declared CONQUERMORE to have run 3rd and WHODUNNIT to have run 4th, giving correct weight on the amended numbers. FEW TOO MANY – Began very awkwardly and lost significant ground. Improved on to heels passing the 800m and had to be checked. EARL OF FORDYCE – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages before being inconvenienced by another runner after passing the 800m and forced wider on the track. THE LAST SEQUALO – Overraced in the early stages. Race 5: Dunemann Constructions QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1200m The start of this race was delayed as a result of stewards inquiring into the photo-finish in the previous event. BARNEY’S LAW – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty securing clear running until after passing the 300m. OOZES CLASS – Inconvenienced on jumping away and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Hung in from the 600m, placing its rider at a disadvantage when placed under pressure in the straight. RIVER ROCKET – Began awkwardly, inconveniencing another runner. After overracing in the early stages improved on to heels near the 900m and had to be steadied whilst racing wide. BAMBALAM – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 200m. DAYTONA DANICA – Raced 3 wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. VINTAGE MODEL – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn. MISSED THE ALARM – Disappointed for a run after passing the 400m and after shifting back to the inside in an attempt to secure clear running was again disappointed for a run near the 300m and had to be steadied from heels. LADY SOLERNO – Inconvenienced by BIG BUDS, which shifted out under pressure approaching the 100m. L. Dillon, rider of BIG BUDS, was reprimanded for this incident. Raced wide. SIZZLING SUN – Raced 3 wide without cover. PATRIOTIC ROSE – Stewards questioned trainer D. Hansen regarding the improved performance. He indicated due to the horse having a lengthy spell in order to undergo throat surgery, the horse had returned at its first start at the Gold Coast on 28 September and had weakened over the concluding stages, and with hindsight was of the view that this was as a result of the horse having its first-up run over 1400m. He indicated the improved performance was as a result of taking a fitness benefit from that run. Race 7: Caloundra Isuzu Ute Class 2 H’CAPcap – 1000m The start of this race was rescheduled to 9.34 pm. CANAPES – Trainer P. Butterworth was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Raced wide without cover. CHEVY NOVA – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. SIGNATURE STREET – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey M. Cahill reported that the gelding travelled well until the home turn when the horse became unbalanced before being somewhat disappointing over the concluding stages. He added that this may have been as a result of the horse having its first start racing in the clockwise direction. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. CIMARRON KID – Raced extremely wide throughout. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees SuspensionNil. ReprimandRace 6.
