Race 1:  Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Class 4 H’cap – 1000m
 
JAMI LADY – Began awkwardly and made contact with the partition on jumping.
 
THE WILD ONE – Began awkwardly, also making contact with the partition on jumping.
 
BACHELOR’S ART – Raced keenly, proving difficult to settle in the early stages.  Held up rounding the home turn before obtaining a run between runners near the 250m.
 
TEAGZ – Raced 3 wide.
 
USMANOV – Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
SHE’S A MITZY – Raced 3 and 4 wide for the majority of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 2:  Access Insulation Toowoomba Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1200m
 
STEPPED IN PAINT – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.45 pm after injuring its off fore knee.  Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start. 
 
RIPPIN ‘n’ TEARIN – Raced 3 wide with cover. Near the 800m when overracing had to be steadied from heels and shifted wider before being restrained to its trailing positon.
 
BEZZINA – Held up approaching the home turn and unable to obtain clear running until near the 250m.
 
REMOLAD – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
SPEAKING BETTER – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
Race 3:  Access Insulation Fraser Coast Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1600m
 
NO REFUND – Change of tactics.  Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden forward from  the wide gate.  The horse was ridden accordingly and led the event.
 
HOT SOCK – Began moderately. Held up rounding the home turn and until a point near the 200m.
 
WILLO TITTO -  Began moderately. Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
NO DOUBT ACRACKER – Raced keenly near the 1200m. Held up rounding the home turn and until a point near the 200m.
 
GROOVY PLAYMATE – Had to be checked and lost ground approaching the 200m.  At a subsequent inquiry, apprentice N. Keal, rider of ELJETEM, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting wider on the course  resulting in interference to GROOVY PLAYMATE.  Apprentice Keal’s licence to ride in races  was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence at midnight, 14 December and to expire at midnight, 24 December. In assessing penalty stewards took into account N. Keal’s recent good riding record and also that he had only recently returned to race riding.
 
TOP GLAMOUR -  Bumped by another runner near the 200m.
 
CONCAVE – Bumped by HOT SOCK near the 100m.
 
CURRUMBIN CRAFT – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
ELJETEM – When asked to comment on the improved performance, trainer G .Smith stated the stable was confident of a forward showing tonight from the gelding after its most recent run at Ballina where the horse ran quick sectionals for that class and distance. He added the horse was also suited  by racing on today’s bigger track. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
 
Race 4:  Stanley River Thoroughbreds Class 3 Plate – 1400m
 
SLOW HANDS -  Began awkwardly. After being crossed by METSON passing the 1100m commenced to overrace for a short distance.  Was inconvenienced over the final 100m when METSON shifted out.
 
VIENNA MOON – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SKYE AND ME – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight, and then was disappointed for a run passing the 200m between VIENNA MOON and SLOW HANDS before altering course back to the inside to secure clear running.
 
METSON – Laid  out under pressure over the final 150m.
 
FRANCISCA – Passing the 100m was crowded for room between  NETONYA NELLY  and LUCKY JACKSON, which shifted in slightly.  Apprentice J. Huxtable, rider of LUCKY JACKSON, was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
 
 
Race 5:  Access Insulation Sunshine Coast CG&E Maiden H’cap – 1000m
 
MINT STRIP - Slow to begin.
 
PLENTY OF ZIP – Slow to begin. Then was bumped by HE’S IRISH shortly after jumping and lost ground.
 
HE’S IRISH – Began awkwardly.
 
MORGAN’S SMILE – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping heavily with DURUNDUR LAD.  Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
DURUNDUR LAD – Bumped on jumping.  Hung in noticeably in the run to the finish.  Trainer S. Mackinnon was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of stewards  prior to its next race start.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 6:  Access Insulation Sunshine Coast F&M Maiden H’cap – 1000m
 
ALL NATIVE – Was fractious in the barriers and reared prior to the start being effected, then began awkwardly.  Jockey B. Pengelly stated that after being fractious in the barriers and slow to begin he was obliged to make use of the filly’s speed in the early stages of the race to lead the event.  He added he was however disappointed in the filly’s overall effort as the horse had trialled well leading into the event.  Trainer D. Van Dyke indicated it was now his intention to spell ALL NATIVE.   A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
CHAMPAGNE PARTY – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
MISS TAYLOR – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
GOT NO DOUBT – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7:  Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Maiden Plate – 2200m
 
I KNOW  YVES – Began awkwardly and slipped behind, losing significant ground.
 
PAGEN FLOKI – Slow into stride. Rider N. Thomas was reminded of his obligations regarding the manner in which he used his whip on a horse which is out of contention.  
 
BEST FOOT FORWARD – After being caught wide in the early stages, elected to improve near the 1800m and crossed to the front.
 
LYON’S MANE – Inclined to pull in the early stages when racing 3 wide before being restrained to a rearward position. Commenced to overrace passing the 1500m before its rider elected to improve 3 wide passing the 1200m. Raced 3 wide for the remainder of the race.
 
SIR PELLIAS – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
SHEINDLIN – Tired noticeably over the concluding stages. Underwent a veterinary examination which revealed  the mare to be showing  signs of thumps and displaying a poor post-race recovery.
