From SCTC, 21.2.20 – Race 3
 
Trainer C. Anderson reported that  in light of the disappointing performance, CHEVERNY  underwent an endoscopic examination which revealed it was suffering from a respiratory condition, and would immediately be sent for a spell.

Race 1: Glovers Concreting Pty Ltd F&M Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
HIGHLAND REBEL – Slow to begin.
 
QIJI BELLEZZA – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
SONO DOLCE – Overraced during the middle stages.
 
BETTER LOOKING – Commenced to weaken from the 600m and finished a distant last.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer L. White  indicated that she would be discussing with owners the horse’s immediate racing future.
 
Race 2: Blake Machinery Group Pty Ltd F&M Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
PERFECT SAGA – Trainer B. Smith was reprimanded for failing to produce the Document of Description for this horse. Slow to begin. Returned to scale with a small amount of  blood in its mouth.
 
TINY TEE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. The saddle shifted back during the event.
WHITE SATIN DANCER – Weakened over the final  300m.  Jockey B. Stewart could offer no explanation for the performance other than to state he was disappointed.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Trainer G. Heinrich advised stewards it was now her intention to have an endoscopic examination performed on the horse, with results reported to stewards.
 
Race 3:  Buderim Mechanical CG&E Class 2 H’cap - 1000m
 
KING OF THE NORTH – Slow to begin. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination found the horse to have sustained a minor abrasion to the near-side nostril, which was found to have occurred when fractious in the barriers.
 
ROGUE DRUMMER – Slow to begin.
 
PLATINUM EUROS – Overraced in the early stages.
 
DUELLATOR – Obliged to race in restricted room for a short distance passing the 500m.
 
AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR – Held up rounding the home turn and until near the 300m.
 
Race 4: Fuji Xerox Business Centre Sunshine Coast QTIS 3yo Maiden
H’cap – 1000m
 
SUNLANDER – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
JOJO GO – Slow to begin and shortly after the start attempted to buck, before racing greenly throughout, particularly under pressure in the home straight. Connections were advised that the horse must officially trial prior to racing again.  Underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a minor laceration to the off foreleg.
 
MASARED – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide.
 
MAHSTAR – Jumped awkwardly. Held up after passing the 600m and was checked from heels near the 500m. Continued to be held up for clear running until the 200m.
 
PERSIAN KING – Commenced to weaken from the 500m and then hung out under pressure in the home straight.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.  Trainer M. Currie reported that on return to scale the horse was showing signs it may have raced with its tongue over the bit, which may have had an effect on the  horse’s breathing. He indicated he would experiment with the addition of a tongue-tie, and also have the horse perform in a jump-out prior to racing again.  Stewards advised Mr Currie that a warning would be placed on the horse’s competitiveness.
 
KUSAMA – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
EASY COME – Raced 4 wide without cover.
 
SERGEANT PEPPERS – Raced wide.
 
Race 5:  Bloomhill Cancer Care Class 1 H’cap – 1800m
 
BEANS ‘N’ RICE – As apprentice A. Patis was indisposed, apprentice S. Thornton was substituted as the rider of the horse.
 
CLEAR SAILING – Tightened for room and lost significant ground at the start.
 
WHAKAREWAREWA – Jumped awkwardly, making heavy contact with CLEAR SAILING.
 
TAKEITTOTHELIMIT – Steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of LITTLE DRUMMER BOY near the 1500m.  Jockey R. Faehr, rider of LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, was reprimanded for shifting in when not clear. 
 
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY – Jockey R. Faehr was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 6: Pelican Motors Service Centre Benchmark 68 H’cap – 1400m
 
FABULONH – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Returned to scale with a minor abrasion to the off side hip.  
 
SID – Jumped awkwardly.
 
COUNTER MEAL – Raced wide without cover.
 
DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – Improved onto heels and had to be checked near the 1200m, and then race wide.
 
 
Race 7: TAB Class 1 Plate – 1200m
 
CLEAR THE BILL – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Hung out for a short distance passing the 800m. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
HEY PAL – Steadied shortly after the start when tightened for room.  Hung out passing the 800m for a short distance. Held up passing the 500m and was steadied from heels.
 
SAGRE’S POINT – Raced wide.
 
MISS FLAWLESS – Raced wide.
 
LOVE EXPRESS – Raced wide without cover.
