Race 1: ROTARY CLUB OF BRISBANE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M
 
WILEY’S PISTOL – Jumped awkwardly and bumped BELLICOSE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg and also to be suffering from a poor post-race recovery. Trainer G. Taylor was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
BELLICOSE – Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide throughout. Had to be restrained and shift outwards near the 200m in order to avoid the heels of SINGLE LASS. As a result of this incident K. Gates, the rider of SINGLE LASS, was reprimanded.
 
OUR OMEN – Slow to begin.
 
ARRIVERDERCI ROMA – Raced wide without cover.
 
DURUNDUR LAD – Jumped away awkwardly. A. Allen reported that his mount hung in throughout the event and placed him under some difficulty over the concluding stages.
 
RHUEZON – Raced wide without cover.
 
FI FI NO FUSS – Jumped awkwardly and continued to race awkwardly for a short distance after the start, losing ground.
 
SPOOLING – Obliged to steady from heels approaching the 600m.
 
SINGLE LASS – Steadied approaching the 600m when placed in restricted room. Shifted out near the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
Race 2: ROTARACT CLUB BRISBANE RIVERCITY MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M
 
GINGER EIGHTYEIGHT – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
A BIG CHANCE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
GIDEONS – Weakened in the home straight and became awkward in its action over the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
BUATSI – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
RED RIVER LAD – Raced wide without cover.
 
DAM LOVABLE – Began awkwardly and then raced wide without cover.
 
DEBONAIR DES – Raced wide throughout.
 
SHE’S WHITTIE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 3: BREAKING FREE MENTAL HEALTH QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M
 
BOHEMIAN BOOM – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination, after rider R. Fradd reported that the horse made an abnormal respiratory noise, confirmed that the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise post-race, however, was not considered significant.
 
MILITARY FORCE – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped another runner. Raced wide after passing the 500m, commenced to hang out and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
PALLADAS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Inconvenienced when placed in restricted room near the 300m.
 
MISHANI FORTUNE – Raced greenly throughout.
 
PHANTOM COURT – Jumped awkwardly.
 
SEBAAYER – Bumped by another runner on jumping away. Held up rounding the home turn. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight and was untested over the final 50m when unable to secure clear running.
 
UNCOMPLICATED – Slow to begin.
 
GULLFOSS – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Inconvenienced by a tiring runner near the 200m.
 
Race 4: THE MINI FARM PROJECT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1600M
 
CITY SMART – Steadied from heels near the 600m and as a result shifted wider on the track to improve.
 
STEEL PIER – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
DECEBALUS – Overraced during the early stages whilst being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover.
 
ASVATARA – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GRENADIERS – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SERGEANT PEPPERS – Raced wide during the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to a position outside the lead passing the 900m.
 
LEO THE LION – Overraced badly in the early and middle stages.
 
MA'CHANEL – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
JUMP START – Weakened badly in the home straight after leading the event, underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be coughing post-race and awkward in its hind action. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the horse’s next start. Trainer R. Heathcote indicated that the stable would be considering the horse’s immediate racing future.
 
Race 5: ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR QUEENSLAND BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 1800M
 
FASTNET CYCLONE – Obliged to restrain from heels when the pace slackened near the 1500m and overraced until the 1200m.
 
CERTAIN DOUBT – Overraced badly at heels from when the pace slackened near the 1500m until the 1200m and was forced to check from heels near the 1100m before shifting wider on the track and raced three wide from that point onwards.
 
SUNNY ST CLOUD – As B. Stewart was to be overweight, M. Du Plessis was substituted as the rider of the mare. B. Stewart was fined $300.
 
TACTICAL MANUEVER – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 1400m.
 
BRYBECK – Slow to begin. Tightened for room when overracing near the 1400m and was steadied.
 
SECRET AGENT MAN – Raced wide throughout. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 6: DOWNS & WEST COMMUNITY SUPPORT CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed when RISING KING was kicked by another runner and underwent a veterinary inspection before being cleared to start.
 
BLUE SEATTLE – Restrained from a wide alley in an attempt to obtain a position closer to the fence. Raced wide throughout.
 
TRU BLU TANGO – Inconvenienced near the 100m.
 
GIN ‘N’ BITTERS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WIRED – Raced wide throughout.
 
VILLENEUVE LADY – Jumped awkwardly and inconvenienced ROGUE DRUMMER.
 
AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR – Disappointed for a run and had to be steadied after passing the 100m.
 
BETTER THAN MAGIC – Raced three wide without cover.
 
ROGUE DRUMMER – Slow to begin and inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
RISING KING – Kicked by another runner, underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout.
 
OUTBACK STORM – Raced four wide without cover. Restrained from heels whilst weakening near the 200m.
 
Race 7: ROTARY CLUB OF BRISBANE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1600M
 
BIG BUDS – Became awkward at heels near the 350m.
 
EPICURIOUS – Significantly slow to begin. Placed in restricted room near the 500m to the inside of the weakening ANGEL OF LEON and became awkward.
 
BOLD DELAGO – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPIRITUAL ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
RIVER OF LOVE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ANGEL OF LEON – Stewards permitted M. Murphy to ride the mare half a kilogram over its allotted weight. Weakened badly from the 700m and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B. Loakes was advised that the horse would be barred from provincial venues until its form improves.
 
SAGRE’S POINT – Placed in restricted room near the 500m and became awkward to the inside of EPICURIOUS.
 
Race 8: YOUNGCARE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
Prior to the running of Race 7, trainer D. Vandyke made application to stewards to scratch ROMAN REPUBLIC as the horse had become extremely agitated in the tie-up stalls and he was of the view that this would have a detrimental effect on the horse’s performance. The horse underwent a veterinary examination which confirmed that it was agitated and sweating up. Stewards, acting upon that veterinary advice and also on the request of Mr Vandyke, declared the horse a late scratching at 3:25 pm. Subsequent to this a urine sample was taken from ROMAN REPUBLIC.
 
The start of this race was delayed when ROCK TOUR required farrier attention behind the barriers.
 
DUPIE DOLL – Raced wide after being inconvenienced by COUPE DE VILLE near the 1000m.
 
REBEL ROCK – Held up rounding the home turn. Tightened for room near the 200m.
 
PULL ANCHOR – Improved on to heels and was checked rounding the home turn. Had difficulty obtaining clear running near the 200m.
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Hung out from the 600m and as a result had to be restrained from heels near the 550m and again near the 450m.
 
MEYIWA HITAM MAWAR – Raced wide without cover.
 
NOM DE THEATRE – Slow to begin and hampered shortly afterwards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
RED GARTER – As J. Orman was to be overweight M. Du Plessis was substituted as the rider of the filly. J. Orman was fined $200.
 
ROCK TOUR – Lost its off hind plate en route to the start and underwent farrier attention behind the barriers. Raced wide throughout. Steadied near the 700m when obliged to race in restricted room.
 
COUPE DE VILLE – Slow to begin. Clipped heels and blundered shortly after the start. Following this the horse took charge of the rider and improved on to heels near the 1000m and as a result shifted wider on the track to avoid heels and continued to overrace despite the efforts of its rider and improved to the lead passing the 800m. Trainer C. Geran was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
 
FEARLESS QUEEN – Raced four wide without cover. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
Race 9: ROTARY CLUB OF BRISBANE BENCHMARK 68 H'CAP – 1400M
 
KIRIANA – Slow to begin. K. Gates was reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
 
CORPORAL – Bumped with TREASURE GALLERY on jumping away.
 
GRANDE CASADORA – Jumped with its head in the air. Overraced in the early stages and shifted in near the 1000m, making contact with the running rail.
 
TREASURE GALLERY – Bumped with CORPORAL on jumping away. Overraced in the early stages and raced wide throughout.
 
SPIRIT ESPRIT – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TOUGH TIMES – Steadied shortly after the start when placed in restricted room to the inside of SUGAR ZONE, which shifted in. B. Stewart, the rider of SUGAR ZONE, was reprimanded for this incident. Disappointed for a run near the 550m when attempting to shift out to improve and had to be steadied.
 
VENI VIDI VICI – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DASHING SPECIAL – Raced in restricted room near the 400m and was steadied.
