FURY OF THE STORM – Began awkwardly. Stewards questioned rider H Richardson into the tactics adopted in which FURY OF THE STORM settled at tail in today’s event, which is in contrast to most recent start. She indicated that she wasn’t given any specific instructions other than to make a decision early to avoid being caught wide. She added after being awkward she therefore elected to take up a trailing position. The instructions were confirm by the trainer. Stewards noted explanation. MATERIALISM - A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings. Connections advised that they will now consider the geldings racing future with the stable. HOSTILE STAR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted out under pressure at the 300m Race 2: B & T CONTRACTING Class 4 Handicap 1600 metres CABOCHON LIL – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Race 3: SHARON WYNN BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1600 metres TONY'S DECREE – Was steadied near the 1300m when WILLIAM shifted in momentarily. WILLIAM – Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward and take a leading position approaching the 1200m. MAIN DE FOI – Tactics queried settled further back than anticipated. Rider J Bayliss stated that the mare did not begin cleanly and as a result rather than being caught wide elected to restrain and settle in a rearward position. EPICURIOUS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Performed below market expectation, rider R Wiggins when questioned could offer no explanation. A post race veterinary examination identified the mare to be suffering Thumps and also of being in season. DELCHUZY - As Jockey G Geran was unable to make the weight, he was replaced by S Lacy. Jockey Geran was fined $200 under AR190(3). Began awkwardly. S Lacy (DELCHUSY) was fined $300 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, which is 1 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii). SWEET RIVIERE – Began awkwardly. Rider N Tomizawa reported that his instructions were to have the mare settle in a rearward position, however when caught wide he elected to allow SWEET RIVIERE to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead at the 1100m. ZOUZOUZALO – Began awkwardly Race 4: MOBECA INTERNAL LININGS & PARTITIONS Maiden Plate 1000 metres BELLICOSE – Bumped on jumping. CRAZY EYED FRED – Raced wide without cover. ELGIN - Was kicked by another runner behind the barriers and was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. When questioned in regards to the tactics adopted rider S Cormack stated that since beginning from the good barrier elected to be more positive and allowed ELGIN to stride forward. He added that the gelding hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight and did not feel comfortable in its action. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings. MIDNIGHT RUN – Began awkwardly. Weakened badly in the straight. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings. MOZART'S RIVAL – Bounded at the start. Steadied raced in restricted room near the 900m. Hung out after being steadied from the heels near the 600m. GREEN GOLD – Began slowly and blundered shortly after the start. AROSEFORZOU – Near the 200m bumped by TALLAHASSEE LASSIE and became unbalanced. TALLAHASSEE LASSIE – Shifted out and made contact with another runner at the 200m. MARYLEE – Stewards permitted App Tomlinson to only claim 1kg of his 2kg allowance as he was only engaged to ride MARYLEE this morning. Race 5: TORQUE CARAVAN SERVICES Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap 1200 metres PURE PURGATORY – Slow to begin THINK I'M A LADY – Obliged to race in restricted room near the 200m. DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR – Inconvenienced near the 200m LILIVALE LIBERTY – Slow to begin MY GIRL SKY – Began awkwardly TOKYO TWISTER – Over raced in the early stages. Raced greenly in the straight. HAIRDO – Began awkwardly DREAMFULLY – Raced wide outside the lead until crossing to a position one off the fence near the 600m. Race 6: DJ GROUP INVESTMENTS Class 5 Plate 1200 metres JAGGED EDGE -Over raced in the middle stages and had to be restrained from heels near the 600m and shifted out and bumped with RAMTASTIC. PLENTY – Began awkwardly and shifted out and made contact with MISHANI BULLITT. Over raced in the early stages. Rider J Bayliss was asked to comment on the horses performance from the 600m, in which he stated that he was obliged to restrain from heels and unable to improve until the 400m. He added that in the home straight the horse was somewhat wayward and when attempting to secure a run to the inside of FUJI FLYER (B Thompson) and outside of RAMTASTIC (J Orman) which shifted out under pressure he was disappointed and PLENTY became awkward as a result. Rider J Orman (RAMTASTIC) was asked to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. RAMTASTIC – Trainer K Schweida advised Stewards that the gelding will be ridden further back from the wide barrier today if circumstances permit. Raced accordingly MISHANI BULLITT – Began awkwardly and bumped by another runner THE SINNER – Trainer N McCall advised Stewards that the gelding will be ridden further back from the wide barrier today if circumstances permit. Raced accordingly. FUJI FLYER – Rider B Thompson reported that the gelding over raced in the middle stage with the addition of blinkers and in his opinion had a detrimental effect on the geldings performance. Race 7: TAB CREATE YOUR SPRING CALENDAR Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1300 metres DEVINE FACTOR – Over raced in the early stages. Performed below market expectation. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Connections were advised that they will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance with satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination prior to the horse racing or trialing again. ENCHANTINGLY – Began awkwardly. Rider L Dittman was asked to comment on the mare performance and stated in his opinion the horse was somewhat disappointing however could offer no explanation. GLOBAL CHOICE – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. ST JUST - Tightened shortly after the start and lost ground.
