Race 1: DYNAMICODDS.COM MDN HCP - 1800 metres
 
CLAIRVUE SUN – Tightened on jumping between runners. Approaching the 150m, had to be steadied off the heels of HOLLYWOOD AL who shifted out under pressure. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey L Dittman stated that his intentions were to race in a more forward position, but after suffering tightening at the start, he was forced to race in a rearward position. He added that the gelding failed to his respond to his riding throughout the event and in his opinion, the gelding may not have handled the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LILIVALE LIBERTY – Slow to begin.
 
DAME MARGOT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HOLLYWOOD AL – Near the 1400m, shifted wider when MISS DISS improved to his inside, he then elected to press forward to reach the lead near the 1000m.
 
MISS DISS – When questioned regarding improved performance, trainer T Miller stated that MISS DISS was held up at a vital stage at its last start and expected an improved performance today in the favourable wet conditions. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
Race 2: K SMTH & SON JEWELLERS CLASS 3 HCP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately three minutes when CONQUER MEE proved difficult to load. Then became cast in the gates, underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 2.53 on veterinary advice. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner prior to 2.53pm as following:
 
0 cents in the dollar of all win bets #6 (SHINSHINTO)
6 cents in the dollar of all place bets #6 (SHINSHINTO)
 
Trainer R Davidson was advised that CONQUER MEE must obtain two consecutive barrier certificates prior to its next start.
 
HIGHLAND SON – Held up approaching the home turn and in the early part of the straight. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey M Rodd stated that HIGHLAND SON begun well and travelled comfortably in the early stages. He added that when approaching the home turn, however, when receiving a slight bump from SHE’S A MITZY which was inclined to laid in, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. Jockey M Rodd further added that HIGHLAND SON failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
INTIMIDATING – Declared a late scratching at 11.15am on veterinary advice.
 
SHE'S A MITZY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Following the running of this race the track was downgraded to a Heavy 9.
 
Race 3: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS BM 65 HCP – 1400M
 
SUNRISE DANCER – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
LOPE FOR JOYA – Slow to begin.
 
REDSTONE – Slow to begin.
 
After the running of this race a delegation of riders expressed concerns with visibility and a section of the track after the winning post. Stewards on inspection of that section and considering the jockeys comments, were in agreeance and elected to call the remainder of the meeting off.
