Race 1: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS QTIS 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS MDN HCP - 1000m
 
The start of the race was delayed approximately 5 minutes when the on-course Ambulance officials were required to attend to the farrier who had been injured in the tie up stalls.
 
The start was then delayed a further 6 minutes when PHANTOM SPIRIT required farrier attention after losing a near side plate en route to the barriers. After undergoing farrier work, then underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start.
 
INCERTO – At the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
 
LE HEROS – Began awkwardly shifting out abruptly.
 
MR MAJESTIC – Buffeted at the start and lost ground.
 
PHANTOM SPIRIT – Raced wide without cover.
 
MISHANI CONMAN – Tightened at the start and lost ground. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
SYNZ – Began awkwardly. Rider B Stewart reported that his saddle shifted back in running placing him at a disadvantage.
 
ZAYDE – Buffeted at the start and lost ground.
 
ROUGH CUT JEWEL – Blundered at the start. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Raced wide without cover.
 
After the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Soft 6 retrospective of Race 1.
 
Race 2: ACCESS INSULATON SUNSHINE COAST QTIS 2YO HCP - 1000m
 
The start of race was delayed approximately four minutes when DU MAURIER underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start.
 
YOU'LL BE MIST – Began awkwardly shifting out abruptly.
 
FIRST CRUSADE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
WIN BURN – Slow to begin and shortly after had to be steadied from the heels of YOU’LL BE MIST.
 
DU MAURIER - Rider J Taylor reported that his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
LOLANKA – Near the 800m, put in an awkward stride. Performed below market expectations, rider M Rodd could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
NEXT TO EXCEL – Began awkwardly and bumped with CLAIRVUE LADY. Buffeted near the 800m when racing greenly. Performed below market expectations, rider S Thornton could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
CLAIRVUE LADY – Bumped at the start with NEXT TO EXCEL.
 
RACEDAY GLAMOUR - Buffeted near the 800m when racing greenly was steadied away from the heels of NEXT TO EXCEL. Was steadied near the 500m, when awkwardly placed on the heels of FIRST CRUSADE.
 
Race 3: BEACH TO BUSH CONCRETING QTIS 3YO FILLIES MDN HCP - 1000m
 
ROMAN QUEEN – Failed to muster early speed. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPIRIT OF ROMANCE – Slow to begin and checked shortly after KALIYA shifted out abruptly.
 
FORBIDDEN ONE (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
KALIYA – Shifted out abruptly at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
BEL'S DESIRE – Raced wide with cover. Near the 800m, when racing keenly, momentarily steadied off the heels of NANNA KNUCKEY.
 
Race 4: KBL THOROUGHBREDS CL 4 HCP - 1000m
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 1 minute when AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR and GO DEEP needed to be resaddled.
 
AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
GO DEEP – Performed below market expectations, rider R Fradd reported that after bounding at the start and losing ground, the gelding then pulled hard and as a result and was disappointing. Raced wide throughout.
 
PARISIAN TYCOON – Knuckled at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
YOUR OPTION – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: MORETON BAY EQUINE VET COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES CL 2 PLT – 1000m
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 2 minutes when BOLD HUNTER needed farrier attention.
 
BOLD HUNTER – Rider L Cassidy stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding off pace and after beginning well, he elected not to pressure his mount to hold a forward position. He further added that in hindsight, after beginning well he may have been better served to permit his mount to stride forward and lead or obtain a more positive position.
 
LIEUTENANT – Inconvenienced near the 900m, when tightened by ODDFELLOW who was taken in by BROKEN HERO. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
ODDFELLOW (NZ) – Near the 900m, momentarily tightened in onto LIEUTENANT and became unbalanced, when BROKEN HERO (B Stewart) shifted in when insufficiently. Rider B Stewart (BROKEN HERO) was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear. Passing the 100m, when laying in, was checked to avoid the heels of LIEUTENANT (N Thomas) which shifted out when ridden along. Rider N Thomas (LIEUTENANT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 100m, whilst riding his mount along, permitted it to shift out when insufficiently clear of ODDFELLOW (NZ) resulting in that runner being checked to avoid heels. Rider N Thomas’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence on 19th December 2020 and to expire on 26th December 2020. When assessing penalty, Stewards took into account rider N Thomas’ guilty plea, his excellent record and the mitigating circumstances in particular, the racing manners of ODDFELLOW (NZ).
 
THREEPOINT MISSILE – After passing the 900m, became crowded when tightened for room by ZOOMFIELD who was taken in by BROKEN HERO.
 
ZOOMFIELD – After passing the 900m, was momentarily tightened by BROKEN HERO (B Stewart) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Rider B Stewart was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.
 
Race 6: SCORPION SHEDS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HCP -1600m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow 5th placegetter D Smith to view the patrol footage to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest. After viewing the footage, he elected not to proceed, and correct weight was declared.
 
MONSTER OF POWER – Carried out approaching the winning post when ZOUZOUZALO laid out under pressure.
 
BOLD DELAGO – Slow to begin.
 
MOB BUSTER – Overraced in the middle stages. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and as a result, D Smith was unable to fully test his mount out.
 
ZOUZOUZALO – Laid out when placed under pressure over the final 100m.
 
ST JUST (NZ) – Performed below market expectations, apprentice K Wilson-Taylor stated that from the wide barrier, he settled further back than anticipated which was detrimental to the filly’s’ chances, however, was still satisfied with tonight’s performance. Laid in marginally approaching the winning post.
 
BULLTRUCK – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BM65 HCP - 1200m
 
THE LAUNCHER – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Rider J Stanley reported that the gelding resented racing in between other horses.
 
MISHANI DESTROYER – Raced wide without cover.
 
HALLSIDE HOT STUFF – Rider A Spinks made heavy contact to his left shoulder with the barrier partition at the start. Rider Andrew Spinks was fined $400 for using his whip 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted under the rule.
 
SHADYVALE STAR – Near the 300m, was held up and improved onto the heels of THE LAUNCHER before moving in to secure clear running.
 
Race 8: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS MDN HCP – 1200m
 
DAHLIA KAHINA – Began awkwardly. Held up round the home turn and until passing the 250m at which stage became awkwardly placed close to the heels of DEVIL. Laid out from the 250m.
 
MORGAN'S SMILE – Began awkwardly, bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
 
STRICTLY PHYSICAL – Raced wide with cover. Performed below market expectation. Rider R Fradd stated that the gelding was disappointing, and was of the opinion that the gelding would appreciate a step up in distance and being ridden closer. A post-race veterinary examination of STRICTLY PHYSICAL identifiedatrial fibrillation . STRICTLY PHYSICAL shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres.
 
DIRECT DRIVE – Began awkwardly shifting out bumping with DEVIL.
 
DEVIL – Buffeted at the start.
 
PRICKLY TICK – Raced wide without cover.
 
ROZEIRA –  Began awkwardly.
 
Race 9: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST BM65 HCP - 1800m
 
FORT WAYNE – Near the 1300m when the pace slackened, commenced to overrace and shifted wider.
 
BARITONE (IRE) – Slow to begin
 
BROCSON – Near the 1400m, had to be steadied from the heels of SKY ONE and commenced to race ungenerously for some distance thereafter.
 
JOY'S REWARD – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SKY ONE – Near the 1300m when the pace slackened, commenced to overrace and forced wider by FORT WAYNE who shifted out.
 
PEXBURY AVENUE – Near the 1400m, had to be steadied from the heels of BROCSON and shifted wide after the pace slackened.
