SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: FLYING START SYNDICATIONS QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden 1000 metres
 
As rider M Gray failed to arrive on course to fulfill his engagement on BROADWATER the Stewards permitted G Cartwright to ride the gelding.
 
A GOOD CHANCE – Hung in after start. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
BROADWATER – Began awkwardly. It was noted following the event that the gelding cast its off fore plate.
 
GEKKO – Shifted out after start and carried IL CAZINO wider.
 
LATIN PROPHET – Began awkwardly.
 
RAINBOW DRIFT – Began very awkwardly resulting in rider V Venkaya losing his irons and placed at a disadvantage until he regained them near the 800 metres.
 
RIGHT REASON – Checked soon after start from the heels A GOOD CHANCE. Restrained for some distance after passing the 600 metres from the heels of BROADWATER.
Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
ROUGH CUT JEWEL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 2: SOMMER PETROLEUM QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
MA PETITE AMIE – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Inconvenienced passing 500 metres when steadied from the heels of BELASYN which commenced to weaken.
 
MAYBE IT'S TIME – Checked at start when taken out abruptly by BELASYN. Rider S Lacy reported at scale that she intended to be ridden more positive but was unable to so when being checked at the start.
 
MY GIRL SPIRIT – Steadied from the heels of DANSANT near 650 metres.
 
TAORMINA MATCH – Slow to begin, this resulted in the saddle shifting back and placing rider T Harrison at a disadvantage. Rider T Harrison explained that it was her intention to ride the filly more forward but after being slow to begin.
 
BELASYN – Raced three wide without cover and weakened badly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed it to be lame in the near hind leg.  Trainer B Gill was advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for BELASYN prior to racing again. Mr Gill was also advised that the filly must compete satisfactorily in an official barrier trial.
 
WALLY'S DREAM – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 3: GRAMBOWER CONCRETE CONSTRUCTIONS Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
MOSKOGEE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
OLYMPIC LUCK – Raced greenly throughout and trailed the field throughout and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer K Kemp was advised that the gelding must compete satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to racing again.
 
ANGELIC ARCHER – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
MY ADELINE – Slow to begin.
 
PROFITEROLE – Hampered near 200m. A post -race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be showing signs of tying up.
 
SALTOREE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
BEDTIME SONG – Checked 200m from the heels of MOSKOGEE which shifted out when not
being clear. Apprentice J Lloyd pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding for failing to stop
riding MOSKOGEE to prevent it from shifting out under when not clear of BEDTIME SONG
which had to be checked and was taken out onto PROFITEROLE which was hampered.
Apprentice Lloyd had his licence to ride in races suspended for 13 days to commence at
midnight 30 January 2021 and to conclude at midnight 12 February 2021.
 
SERRATALLI – Tightened for room to the inside MY ADELINE near the 100m and had to alter course.
 
Race 4: ESPRIT RACING Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres
 
CAPTIVATED – Raced in restricted room near the 700 metres. Steadied from heels near the 600 metres and shifted wider to improve.
 
WOODY WOOD DUCK – Raced three wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore-leg and had a slow recovery.  Trainer T Banks was advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness before racing again.
 
SPIRIT HOUSE – Was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the home straight until near the 250 metres.
 
AZZAREACH – Was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and found to have a small amount of blood in its mouth, the colt was subsequently cleared to race.
 
REAL APPEAL – Slow to begin.
 
CHELSEA REIGN – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn in the home straight until near the 250 metres.
 
ME AS I AM – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn in the home straight until near the 300m.
 
 
Race 5: LANDSBOROUGH HOTEL BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1800 metres
 
BELLICOSE – Pulled hard when leading throughout.
 
JERRY ZANDA – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
ZOUZOUZALO – Restrained at start to the rear of the field to gain a position closer to the rail.  Rider M Hellyer reported the gelding laid out throughout the event.
 
NICKS – Was a late scratching at 10.28am on veterinary advice.
 
 
 
Race 6: THE BRANDING OFFICE Class 2 Plate 1600 metres
 
HARRY'S STYLE – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION Maiden Handicap 1600 metres
 
CANNY SKATE – Shifted out when weakening near the 200 metres and bumped SAVILE ROW.
 
TIMOTHY – Over-raced in the middle stages and improved onto heels near the 800 metres and was checked.
 
DELAYED LAUNCH – Raced in restricted room near 500m and then had to be checked soon afterwards.
 
SAVILE ROW – Bumped by CANNY SKATE near the 200 metres.
 
SAVVINESS – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any significant findings.
 
EVRYNOW'N'THEN – Jumped awkwardly. After leaving the 600m improved onto heels and had to be checked.
