Race 1: YALUMBA WINES MDN HCP – 1800m
 
STOCKED AND LOADED – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding performance, apprentice S Tomlinson stated his mount raced greenly throughout and may not have been suited by the tempo of the race. Laid in under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A swab sample was also taken for analysis.
 
WALLY'S DREAM – Overraced in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 1200m, had to be restrained off the heels of ANGELIC ARCHER (T Brooker) when that runner crossed when insufficiently clear. T Brooker was reprimanded for this incident.
 
Race 2: THE POSY CO C4 HCP - 1300m
 
BERING SEA – Slow to begin.
 
ROYAL WARFARE – Near the 600m, suffered an injury and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a suspected pelvic injury and was treated on course. Trainer M Boland was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to ROYAL WARFARE starting in any race or trial again.
 
MADDIARA - Near the 600m, had to be checked off the heels of ROYAL WARFARE who was being retired from the event.
 
Race 3: K SMITH & SON JEWELLERS COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES C1 HCP - 1000m
 
MINT STRIP – Declared a late scratching at 11.55am after it was found to be lame in the near fore. Trainer A Williamson was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the gelding starting again.
 
MISCHIEVOUS LAD - Slow to begin.
 
FROM NOW – Raced wide throughout.
 
LIVE MUSIC – Slow to begin.
 
SHEER IMPULSE – Stewards permitted apprentice S Tomlinson to claim none of his two-kilo allowance due to no other available apprentice being able to replace him. Apprentice S Tomlinson was fined $300 under AR143(14)(a). Inclined to overrace and lay out when restraining to find cover near the 700m.
 
Race 4: HATCHMAN CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PTY LTD C3 HCP - 1800m
 
THE MINIVAN – Hampered shortly after jumping when BOREAS shifted in and MISS MARGS shifted out.
 
FIORENA – Slow to begin.
 
BOREAS – Shifted in on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
MISS MARGS – Shifted out on jumping. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 5: GERRY CLATWORTHY MDN HCP - 1300m
 
ASCOT EXPRESS – Overraced in the early stages and when approaching the 800m was obliged to steady and began to overrace again for a short distance when crowded by SPRIGGER. Rider M Du Plessis reported that his mount race greenly throughout.
 
SPRIGGER – Raced wide throughout.
 
RENDEZVOUS D'AMOUR – Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching then home turn.
 
POSITIVE TENSION – Rider J Adams was fined $300 for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
BOHEMIAN BOOM – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

MALACHINI – Rider M McGillivray stated that his saddle slipped on jumping placing him at a disadvantage throughout the event.
 
ORDESA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Raced wide throughout. Rider Adam Spinks’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence on midnight 19th February 2021 and to expire on midnight 26th February 2021 for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. In assessing penalty, stewards considered A Spinks’ multiple recent breaches of this rule.
 
Race 6: XXXX DRY QTIS 3YO MDN HCP – 1000m
 
DREAM CHANCE – As L Dittman was unable to attend the meeting due to personal reasons, Stewards permitted J Adams to replace him. Hung in in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LA AMIGO – Began awkwardly losing ground before it commenced to race very keenly proving extremely difficult to ride improving onto heels of ROUGH CUT JEWEL, obliging rider Bayliss to check his mount, shift wider and race wide for the remainder. Trainer S Kendrick was advised that LA AMIGO would be required to prove its tractability in an official barrier trial.
 
WHO SHOT MAGGIE – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CURVETTA - Held up rounding the home turn and early part of the straight.
 
FOXY RIPPA – Raced wide throughout.
 
SPRESSI – Raced wide throughout. Passing the 600m, was obliged to steady when bumped on the hindquarters by LA AMIGO and became awkwardly placed on the heels of FOXY RIPPA which shifted in marginally.
 
CHEMICAL EX – Near the 600m, bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced when LA AMIGOS shifted out abruptly. Raced wide throughout.
 
ROUGH CUT JEWEL – Buffeted when placed in restricted room leaving the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 7: HOT 91 LADIES OAKS DAY 28TH MAY F&M C1 HCP - 1000m
 
SPIRIT HOUSE – Near the 800m when overracing had to be restrained off the heels of ATLANTIC ROSE. Rounding the home turn was inconvenienced and lost ground when awkwardly placed at the heels of ATLANTIC ROSE which was taken out by BELROCOS BABE(S Tomlinson) who shifted out to attempt to gain clear running. Apprentice S Tomlinson plead guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) and his license to ride in races was suspended for 7 days to commence at midnight 14th February 2021 and to expire on midnight 21st February 2021.
 
ATLANTIC ROSE – Bumped and taken wider rounding the home turn when BELROCOS BABE shifted out.
 
QUEEN OF THE NIGHT – As J Woodhouse was unable to make the weight, he was replaced by T Marshall. J Woodhouse was reprimanded under AR190(3). Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY BM60 HCP - 1400m
 
BLUE COMET – Bumped on jumping with EXTREME JEWEL. Near the 900m, commenced to overrace and shifted out. Laid out when placed under pressure passing the 100m.

STORM HARBOUR – Change of tactics – To be ridden in the second half of the field; ridden accordingly. Raced wide throughout.
 
OUTBACK GLADIATOR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious in the barriers and cleared to start. Slow to begin.

EXTREME JEWEL – Bumped on jumping with BLUE COMET.
 
ODDFELLOW(NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Rider S Cormack reported that his mount was inclined to hang out placing him at a disadvantage throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the inside of the offside hock.
 
SKYE AND ME – Near the 900m, was carried wider by BLUE COMET who shifted out when overracing.
 
RYANO – Slow to begin. Placed in restricted room rounding the home turn when ODDFELLOW(NZ) hung in. Held up for a short distance passing the 300m.
