SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: TATTERSALL'S ARCADE Class 3 Plate 1600 metres
 
REDSTONE – Wide for the majority.
 
SMART METEOR - Began awkwardly  
 
WORD FOR WORD - Began awkwardly  
 
MOSSHIKI - Slow to begin
 
ZAMZARA - Slow to begin. Over-raced during the early stages.
 
 
Race 2: LEGACY BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1800 metres
 
GUISE – Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 300m.
 
METEOR LIGHT – Due to late arrival on course Ryan Maloney was replaced by Taylor Marshall. Jockey Maloney was fined the sum of $200 under AR127(1) for failing to fulfil this engagement.
 
SCRATCHES – Dislodged the rider in the mounting enclosure, quickly captured before being examined by the vet and cleared to start.
LUCKY JACKSON – Trainer C Munce was fined the sum of $200 under LR67 for the late declaration of rider, L Cassidy.
 
STEINBRENNER – Over-raced for a short distance near the 1400m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAKEDON – Over-raced for a short distance near the 1400m.
 
EPICURIOUS - Slow to begin.
 
ZIGALLENE – Post race vet examination found the horse to have suffered a laceration to the near hind leg consistent with having been galloped on.
 
 
 
Race 3: TATTERSALL'S WEDDINGS JEWEL PRELUDE 2-Y-O Fillies Plate 1000 metres
 
GLORIOUS RUBY – Shifted in and bumped SHALUNA before losing ground when directed outwards to relieve pressure. Apprenticed Leah Kilner was advised to exercise more care. Raced wide without cover.
 
LE RUBIS – Became unbalanced when bumped by SHALUNA near the 800m.
 
SHALUNA – Tightened for room near the 800m, shifted in and made contact with LE RUBIS and lost ground
 
COOKIES 'N' CREAM – Dipped on a number of occasions after passing the 500m. Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
RISING SPIRIT – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: TATTERSALL'S EVENTS JEWEL PRELUDE 2-Y-O Colts & Geldings Plate 1000 metres
 
Prior to the running of this event the track was upgraded to Soft 5.
 
The start of this event was significantly delayed when I’VE BEAN THERE had to have the near fore plate refitted.
 
COCHRANE – Post race vet examination found the horse to be lame in the near foreleg. Vet certificate required prior to racing again.
 
MISHANI OPERATOR – Began awkwardly.
 
HAMLET VON SNITZEL – Raced wide throughout.
 
BETTER OFF – Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running over the final 200m.
 
RED WAVE – Began awkwardly. Bumped by another runner over the concluding stages.
 
BEAUX RUMBLE – Slow to begin.
 
MILITARY GAMBLER – Raced wide throughout. Hung in under pressure in the home straight and bumped with RED WAVE after passing the 200m.
 
MILLWARD – Obliged to alter course `near the 300m to secure clear running before being obliged to steady when tightened for room near the 200m and when to the line without being fully tested.
 
 
 
Race 5: TRAVIS SCHULTZ & PARTNERS JEWEL PRELUDE 3-Y-O Handicap 1000 metres
 
KISUKANO – Bumped near the 800m and forced wider before racing wide from that point onwards.
 
TUMBLER RIDGE – Began awkwardly and had to be checked from heels.
 
SIMPLY FLY – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ZINGALONG – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
INCERTO – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground. Over-raced and checked from heels near the 800m. When inclined to lay in near the 400m was obliged to steady from the heels of ZINGALONG, which shifted out.
 
 
Race 6: WINNING EDGE BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1000 metres
 
KATY'S DAUGHTER – Lost the off fore and off hind plates in running.
 
DEFENCE MISSILE – Raced wide without cover.
 
CHIVARGO – Raced wide throughout.
 
SAY HAYA – Change of tactics, to be ridden in the second half of the field from the wide barrier. Ridden accordingly.
 
AIR SPIRIT – Slow to begin. Post race vet examination revealed the horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination prior to racing again.
 
ALUF – Post race vet examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to racing again.
 
 
 
Race 7: IPG MARKETING SOLUTIONS OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
THE AVENGER – Slow to begin.
 
EPIC GIRL – As Justin Huxtable was unable to fulfil his engagement due to overweight he was replaced by Adin Thompson. Apprentice Huxtable was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under AR143(14). Raced wide before being ridden forward to a position outside the lead near the 600m.
 
CANAPES – Raced wide throughout.
 
METSON – Slow to begin.
 
PERFECT AIM – Momentarily held up for clear running passing the 300m.
 
 
Race 8: TATTERSALL'S MEMBERS' CUP 1600 metres
 
ALWARD – When the pace slackened leaving the 1000m, improved into an awkward position inside the heels of PLITVICE and had to be steadied when leaving the 800m.
 
LIGULATE – Wide from the 800m onwards.
 
MATOWI – Slow to begin. Wide for the majority. Post race vet examination found the horse to have suffered a laceration to the near hindleg consistent with having been galloped on.
 
SIR BARNABUS – Awkwardly placed between runners near the 900m.
 
VICTORY EIGHT – Post race vet examination found the horse to have suffered a laceration to the near foreleg consistent with having been galloped on.
 
STAR OF MICHELIN – Slow to begin.
 
WILLO TITTO – Wide during the early stages. Jockey R Fradd pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to straighten when his mount WAPITI shifted out under pressure when not sufficiently clear of WILLO TITTO causing that horse to be checked across the heels of DISSOLUTION, near the 150m. Jockey Fradd’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 7/3/2021 until midnight 15/3/2021.
 
HAIL MANHATTAN – Over-raced during the early stages.
 
 
Race 9: GARTH HUGHES MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1400 metres
 
BOLD WARRIOR – Over-raced during the early stages.
 
DION D’ORO – Wide throughout.
 
BERING SEA – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
CAPTIVATOR – Jockey B El-Issa, rider of BARNEY’S LAW, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to straighten his mount, which shifted in shortly after the start when not sufficiently clear of SCOTTISH MIST, taking that horse in onto CAPTIVATOR causing that horse to be checked onto the hind quarters of SAMURAI. Jockey El-Issa’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 Days to commence midnight 7/3/2021 until midnight 17/3/2021.
 
BARNEY'S LAW – Over-raced for a short distance during the early stages.
 
SEAT OF POWER – Raced wide without cover. Bumped when rounding the home turn.
 
RED DOULTON – Shifted out to obtain clear running when rounding the home turn and bumped SEAT OF POWER.
 
SAMURAI – Bumped heavily shortly after the start.
