Trainer L Wanless was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance to Stewards prior to the horse racing or trialing again. Jockey J Woodhouse was unable to make the weight in Race 4 (SARA MAN), B Thompson was permitted by Stewards as the replacement rider. After the running of Race 1 J Bayliss was stood down by the Club Doctor due to illness and was replaced by B Thompson as the rider of ORDESA. Raced three wide throughout. ME MUM'S FOXY - Jockey L Tarrant was fined $300 for using the whip 8 times prior to the 100m, which is 3 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii) Race 2: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS MDN PLT -1400M JUST LIKE RULER becamefractious in the tie up stalls and as a result underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race FIORELLI – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Jockey A Allen was fined $300 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, which is 1 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii) KATANAROCK – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination identified the horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer M Palmer was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance with satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination prior to the horse racing or trialing again. ROACCI – Jockey J Adams pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on ten (10) occasions prior to the 100m, being five (5) more than permitted. Jockey J Adams licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of twenty-eight (28) days to commence at midnight on 10/04/2021 and to expire on midnight 8/05/2021. Race 3: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST F&M C1 HCP – 1400M STRATOBEL – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment rider T Brooker advised that the filly did not appreciated today’s heavy track conditions and failed to respond to her riding in the straight. Race 4: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS CG&E CL1 HCP – 1400M DANEZEL – After the running of the race Apprentice J Lloyd was examined by the Club Doctor due to an eye irritation after receiving kickback during the event. RECALL EVENTS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. SARA MAN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: XXXX DRY BM60 HCP – 1600M Prior to the running of Race 5 Stewards along with a delegation of riders inspected the track to determine its suitability to continue racing with focus upon a section between the 600m and 400m and were satisfied to continue racing. YU LONG SHENG HUI – Raced wide in the early stages. Leaving the 300m shifted in to obtain clear running when awkwardly placed at the heels of SHADYVALE STAR. ZOUZOUZALO – Laid in the home straight. Following the running of this event further concerns were voiced by riders in relation to visibility and the state of the track. All riders who rode in this event were interviewed by Stewards before also interviewing riders competing in Race 6. Following this Stewards determined that there had been sufficient concerns raised which brought the safety of the horses and riders into question and therefore made the decision to postpone the remainder of the meeting.
