FORCEFUL MATILDA – Bumped heavily on jumping with CRACK OF DOOM. Race 2: ZUKAZ Fillies and Mares 0 - 62 Handicap 1000 metres METRO TRAMP – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Parsons reported it would now be his intention to spell METRO TRAMP. BOBBIE JO – Passing the 350 metres made heavy contact with PURPLE DIAMOND on several occasions when attempting to shift out to obtain clear running. Held up for clear running between the 300 metres and 200 metres behind ATOUCHOFSYN. PURPLE DIAMOND – Bumped by BOBBIE JO on several occasions passing the 350 metres. MASSABIELLE – Restrained from the heels of TINDER 700 metres. Held up for clear running between the 450 metres and 300 metres. TINDER – Over-raced in the early stages. Race 3: MARGARET FAY BURNS Maiden Handicap 1800 metres With the rail out 8 metres the starting point for this event was brought forward 16 metres to avoid starting the race on the newly laid crossing surface. TEPPANYAKI (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Rider S Thornton reported the gelding would be better suited over races over a longer distance than that of today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. ROC DE CAVI (NZ) – After J Orman had made a submission to ride the gelding ½ kg over, trainer M Kropp was granted permission to engage M Du Plessis to ride ROC DE CAVI at the advertised weight. Bumped with BIG HITTER near the 300 metres. CLUB DOUBLE – Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader from the 1300 metres. AGENT NINETY NINE – When the tempo slowed in the early stages commenced to over-race for a short distance near the 1400 metres. Held up for clear running between the 450 metres and 250 metres. Checked approaching the finishing line. Apprentice A Jones, rider of CRAIGLEA CLINKERS pleaded guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the finish line she permitted the mare to shift out under riding resulting in AGENT NINETY NINE being checked. The licence of apprentice Jones to ride in races was suspended for a period of days to commence midnight 7th August up to and including midnight 18th August 2021. BIG HITTER – Slow to begin. Bumped with ROC DE CAVI near the 300 metres. MOONWINKLE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Race 4 UQ VETS EQUINE HOSPITAL BM68 Handicap 1200 metres SUILVEN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. BELLS APPROACHING was examined at the request of its rider on arrival barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:31pm after being found to be lame in the near hind leg. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on BELLS APPROACHING to be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply: 1st KUDU – 7c win, 5c place2nd AQUAJACK - 13c place3rd SUILVEN – n/a Trainer M Dunn was advised BELLS APPROACHING must obtain a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start. YU LONG SHENG HUI – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. Race 5: BILLY HEALEY RACING Maiden Handicap 1300 metres KING OF THE COAST – Jumped in at the start and bumped GOLDEN OUTBACK. AMBER BLONDE – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. GOLDEN OUTBACK – After beginning awkwardly was then heavily bumped by KING OF THE COAST and lost ground. Over-raced near the 1000 metres. Laid in under pressure for some distance passing the 300 metres placing its rider at a disadvantage. I AM SUMI – Raced three wide without cover throughout. VIKING FOREVER – A Fancourt, rider of VIKING FOREVER, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to 100 metres, one more than permitted. HOME OF GOOLAGONG – Hampered near the 300 metres. BEL'S DESIRE – Due to current covid restrictions, Stewards permitted M Hellyer to ride the mare 1/2kg over its allocated weight. Crowded on jumping and lost ground. Race 6: 6 ALLIGATOR BLOOD G1 Class 4 Handicap 1000 metres ICED – Crowded for room and had to be steadied when IMA TEAMBOY shifted in when not fully clear. M Cahill, rider of IMA TEABOY, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding and advised to provide greater clearance when shifting ground in similar circumstances. GO DEEP and HIGHLAND SON, which were following, were steadied in consequence. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the outside of the near fore canon. IMA TEAMBOY – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rider reported the gelding laid out for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to its off-hind leg. GO DEEP – Slow to begin. Raced greenly and lost ground when racing in restricted room to the inside of AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR near the 900 metres. Steadied from heels near the 700 metres. DORSET COAST – Raced four wide for the majority of the event. HIGHLAND SON – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. Steadied from heels near the 700 metres. LOGAN'S BLADE – Jumped in at the start. ABEL MABEL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying symptoms of the thumps. Race 7: ZUCOINS Colts, Geldings and Entires 0 - 62 Handicap 1000 metres The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 minutes as the veterinary surgeon was delayed arriving at the barriers after attending to a horse which competed in an earlier event. KING RAGNAR – Slow to begin. ALCIDES (NZ) – Slow to begin. FLAT KAPPER – Rider reported the gelding was inclined to lay in for the majority of the event. NINE CIGARS – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. FRISCO'S IMAGE – Due to current covid restrictions Stewards permitted apprentice N Fazackerley to ride the gelding without claiming any of his allowance. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Race 8: EZYBONDS NO. 1 Class 1 Plate 1400 metres NICHOLAS ADAM – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. DEVINE FACTOR – Due to current covid restrictions, Stewards permitted J Guthmann-Chester to ride the mare 1/2kg over its allocated weight. LONADO – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running over final 100 metres.
