GENERAL
 
Due to current Covid restrictions Stewards approved the following overweights.
 
Race 7 – J Orman - BLOOD THUNDER will be plus 1kg at 56.5kg.
 
 
Race 1: AUSCREDITS Maiden Plate 1800 metres
 
COUNTYA FALLS (NZ) – When asked to comment on the performance rider J Orman stated the gelding travelled well throughout the race however when placed under pressure entering the home straight failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
GENTLE PRINCE – Raced three wide in the early stages of the event.
 
POWER PUNCH (NZ) – Blundered approaching the 500 metres.
 
SPIRITUAL – V Venkaya, rider of SPIRITUAL, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
LILIVALE LIBERTY – Apprentice D McGillivray was fined $200 under AR143(14) for failing to claim down to his minimum riding weight. Shortly after the start was awkwardly placed on heels when the pace steadied.
 
TRUTHIZ – Near the 1200 metres was awkwardly placed on heels when the pace steadied.
 
DANEROCK - On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the gelding was readjusted.
 
 
Race 2: DAVE MASTERS MEMORIAL QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres
 
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, connections of the second placegetter SINGLE MEMO viewed the patrol footage before electing to take the matter no further.
 
BLACKJACK BOOM – Near the 400 metres shifted out and bumped SINGLE MEMO. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. 
 
OUR HOT FRIEND – Apprentice S Tomlinson reported the gelding was inclined to lay out throughout the event.
 
SINGLE MEMO – Bumped and forced wider near the 400m.
 
 
Race 3: BLUE HOPE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
MINT STRIP – Trainer A Williamson was reprimanded under LR36(6) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time.
 
MOZART'S RIVAL – Trainer L Gough was reprimanded under LR36(6) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time. Jumped in at the start. Raced greenly passing the 800 metres when being restrained to obtain cover. Rider reported the gelding was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. Approaching the finish line had to be checked from the heels of PEACHIE’S DREAM. Apprentice I Teh, rider of PEACHIE’S DREAM, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in under riding approaching the finish line resulting in MOZART’S RIVAL being checked. The licence of I Teh to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 25th September up to and including midnight 6th October 2021.
 
IN GREAT NIC – Slow to begin.
 
BLUE PACIFIC - Trainer D Batters was reprimanded under LR36(6) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed lameness in the off hind leg and soreness across the back. Trainer D Batters was advised BLUE PACIFIC would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
ARRIVERDERCI ROMA – Slow to begin then shortly after tightened between MINT STRIP and MOZART’S RIVAL both of which shifted ground.
 
TALLAHASSEE LASSIE – Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Rider reported the mare was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
PEACHIES DREAM – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Had to be steadied approaching the finish line when MOZART’S RIVAL shifted in after being checked.
 
Race 4: PD RAMBO MEMORIAL Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
MISTER BEAN – Slow to begin.
 
SUNDUS – Near the 200 metres shifted out to secure clear running.
 
VITAL SOURCE – Crowded between runners on jumping and lost ground. Held up for clear running near the 500 metres.
 
KING SHALAA – Blundered on jumping.
 
LEORED – Slow to begin.
 
GIVEITALLALI – Shifted in abruptly on jumping.
 
SWEAR ON A PROMISE - Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
TODO AMOR – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
QUEEN SAFARI – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 5: BAMPAK Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
SUPER TROUBLE – Proved difficult to load. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the second time, and as such connections were advised SUPER TROUBLE would now incur a lifetime ban from racing under AR79(6).
 
MARTINA – Over raced and checked from heels near the 800 metres.
 
KAKATIYA – Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the middle stages. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHAKTI – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
BOOM CHUGGA LUGGA – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
STRYKING MAID – Steadied from the heels of TAIRUA which shifted in shortly after the start.
 
 
Race 6: RUSSELL KEMP 70TH Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
I AM A BEAUTY – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Connections were advised I AM A BEAUTY would be stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward under AR79(4)   
 
MISTER LARRABEE – Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
KAVALMO (NZ ) – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Connections were advised KAVALMO would be stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward under AR79(4). Trainer L Gore was reprimanded under AR194 for presenting the horse late to the saddling enclosure.   
 
YES NO MAYBE SO – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 7: RUSSELL SHEEHAN MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 1300 metres
 
FEDERAL AGENT – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages.
 
HE KNOWS – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
FISH ON – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
REDSTONE – Over raced in the middle stages of the event.
 
TRIPTONIC – Held up for clear running approaching the 300 metres.
 
NICCI'S SPIRIT – Held up for clear running between the home turn and the 300 metres.
 
BLOOD THUNDER – Began awkwardly. Rider J Orman reported the gelding travelled well in the run however when placed under pressure entering the home straight failed to respond to his riding adding that BLOOD THUNDER weakened noticeably over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from the thumps and also to have a poor post-race recovery.
 
DUBLE GAZE - Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 8: NOOSA CAR & TRUCK BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1600 metres
 
THE IRONS – Taken wider on the track passing the 700 metres and then obliged to race three wide from that point.
 
SENRIMA TIDE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
CABOCHON LIL – Checked passing 1500 metres. G Cartwright, rider of SENRIMA TIDE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 1500 metres, after being crossed by THE IRONS, attempted to improve her mount to the inside of THE IRONS where there was insufficient room resulting in SENRIMA TIDE shifting in and tightening the racing room of CABACHON LIL which had to be checked and lose its rightful running. The licence of G Cartwright to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 3rd October up to and including midnight 13th October 2021.
 
RED LIGHT ROXANNE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Connections were advised RED LIGHT ROXANNE would be stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward under AR79(4).
 
BELLICOSE – Change of tactics – ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Over raced badly and checked from heels when the pace steadied in the early stages. Continued to over race until passing the 600 metres.
