Race 1: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1300 metres
 
COLLAY'S SPIRIT (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
ISIS CARMELLA – Inclined to lay out from the 600 meters. Rider B Thompson reported he was obliged to pressure ISIS CARMELLA earlier than he would have liked, adding he was disappointed with horse’s finishing effort in the home straight.
 
APPLE TART – Over-raced when leading the event.
 
MISHANI TROUBLE – Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.

Race 2: SKY RACING Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres
 
MILITARY GAMBLER – After beginning awkwardly checked shortly after between WITH EDGE and ATOUCHOFSYN which jumped out abruptly.
 
BACK WHEN – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ATOUCHOFSYN – Jumped out at the start. Raced greenly in the middle stages and inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
The track was upgraded to Good 3 retrospective to Race 2.
 
Race 3: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MOONAN ME – Slow to begin.
 
RENOUF – Began awkwardly. After over-racing at heels near the 600 meters, was then held up from that point until approaching the 200 meters.
 
Race 4: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
ATLANTIC EAGLE (NZ) – Steadied from heels near the 800 meters when the pace slackened. When shifting out to improve near the 500 meters bumped with TANGO TINO on several occasions. Approaching the finish line had to be restrained when obliged to race in restricted room.
 
DAULAT KIITIBAZEBA – Bumped with TANGO TINO on jumping and lost ground. Proved difficult to load resulting in the start being delayed approximately 2 minutes. Trainer J Holcombe was advised a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
KABOOM – Over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
 
TANGO TINO – Bumped with DAULAT KIITIBAZEBA on jumping and lost ground. After being steadied from heels near the 800 meters when the pace slackened was then obliged to shift wider on the track for a short distance. Bumped near the 500 metres when ATLANTIC EAGLE shifted out to improve.
 
STAR DIAMOND – After being crossed near the 900 meters over-raced when being restrained.
 
TAKE ME ON – Near the 700 meters improved onto heels and had to be steadied when the pace slackened.
 
Race 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
BUCK NORRIS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DOCTOR JACK -Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
 
BIRAGUE – Began awkwardly.
 
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Inconvenienced near the 200 metres when DAULAT TAIFUN AZIZ laid in when racing greenly.
 
PRIVATE BANKER – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on the performance rider B Nothdurft stated the horse was inclined to race greenly throughout and was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight, adding that PRIVATE BANKER, which was having its first race start, would derive benefit from the run and a step-up distance.
 
SMASHING EAGLE – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 800 metres and had to be steadied.
 
DAULAT TAIFUN AZIZ – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE POWER OF ONE – Attempted to buck a short distance after the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer P Gardiner was advised THE POWER OF ONE must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
Race 6: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1800 metres
 
OCTAVIAN – Slow to begin. Taken wider on the track approaching the 700 metres when MACOMBO shifted out to improve. Had to be steadied approaching the 100 metres when DRUMADOIR laid in under pressure.
 
DRUMADOIR – Laid in under pressure approaching the 100 metres.
 
MOCAMBO – Slow to begin. Shifted out three wide to improve approaching the 700 metres.
 
BUMRAH (NZ) – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
PURE DEAL – Held up for clear running until approaching the 100 metres.
 
 
Race 7: LIEBKE BUILDERS Class 4 Handicap 1000 metres
 
LEROYTHECONQUEROR - Crowded on jumping and lost ground.
 
DALTORO – Slow to begin.
 
BELLE’S PLUCK – Obliged to steady when racing in restricted room near the 700 metres.
 
GLOBAL CITIZEN – Jumped in at the start.
 
BIG JAKE – Jumped out at the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALL STARS – Crowded on jumping and lost ground.
 
MOONAN JOYCE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
KING RAGNAR – Taken in on jumping and lost ground. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
Race 8: PARKLANDS TAVERN Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres
 
DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM – Rider B Nothdurft reported the horse failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure from the 500 metres and was then inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.  
 
WHITTINGTON STONE – Rider R Maloney reported the gelding was making an abnormal respiratory noise during the event. Trainer K Fogden was advised WHITTINGTON STONE would require a veterinary clearance, including the results of a satisfactory endoscopic examination, and must also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
YOURJOKINGME RIGHT – When asked to comment rider S Cormack reported the gelding over-raced and proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages of the event and this had a detrimental effect on the finishing effort of YOURJOKINGME RIGHT. Stewards accepted the explanation of S Cormack. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from heat stress.
 
VALLEY OF DREAMS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
