World Charmer (NZ) – Laid in shortly after the start. Boom Chugga Lugga – Slow to begin. Race 2: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1400 metres Destiny's Own – Over-raced when the pace slackened near the 900m. Maestos – Slow to begin. Race 3: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1300 metres Minto's Paradise – Saddle slipped backwards during the event placing rider B Stewart at a disadvantage. Dislodged after the winning post when pulling up, examined by the doctor and cleared of any injuries. Isis Carmella - Hung out rounding the home turn. Mishani Untamed – Slow to begin. Mishani Scandal – Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor was fined the sum of $300 under AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the end of the event. In assessing penalty stewards ruled that Apprentice Wilson-Taylors’ action had cost his mount 5th placing. Atrevida – Over-raced when restrained near the 1200m. Mishani Esprit – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Maiden Plate 1600 metres Fightingforjustice – Jockey Brad Stewart, fined the sum of $300 under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. Gentle Prince – Over-raced for a short distance passing the 1100m. Isometric (NZ) – Wide throughout. Maple Door – Slow to begin. Over-raced when placed in restricted room near the 1400m and had to be checked. Continued to over-race during the early and middle stages. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Strong And Fast – Raced wide without cover. County Love – Slow to begin. Race 5: LIEBKE BUILDERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1600 metres Jabbar – R Maloney reported to stewards that he was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance after travelling well until the home turn the gelding failed to respond to his riding. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Likeabeel – Checked when tightened for room near the 1500m. Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn. Apprentice Zac Lloyd, the rider of DUTCH DELIGHT, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 1500m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of EARN OUT and LIKEABEEL, causing both horses to be checked. Apprentice Lloyds license to ride in races was suspended for period of 13 days to commence midnight 18/1/2022 and to conclude midnight 31/1/2022. Earn Out – Checked when tightened for room near the 1500m. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Evrynow'n'then – Raced wide without cover. Consular – Raced wide during the early stages before being ridden forward to a position outside the lead passing the 800m. Hung in from the 800m whilst weakening. Spurious – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start and lost ground, in this incident Jockey C Meehan lost the use of his nearside iron for a short distance. Race 6: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1200 metres Red Zorro – Began awkwardly. Poupee – Raced ungenerously passing the 800m and hung out rounding the home turn. Miraclesfromheaven – Slow to begin. Shining Blue – Wide throughout.
