Race 1: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 62 Handicap
(POLY TRACK) 1000 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed due to SHINSHINTO dislodging rider J. Molloy and travelling a short distance before being captured. Rider J. Molloy was examined by the QAS officials and cleared to fulfil his engagement.
 
GLOCK – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SHINSHINTO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start after dislodging its rider on route to the barriers. Placed in restricted room approaching the 800 metres when racing to the inside LA AMIGO. Approaching the 300 metres was obliged to steady when awkwardly placed at the heels of BELISTIC MAN which was taken inwards by CURRY CONNECTION which shifted in marginally.
 
GENERAL NELSON - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
BELISTIC MAN – Commenced to over race approaching the 900 metres and had to steadied from the heels of CURRY CONNECTION. Improved into a marginal run to the inside of CURRY CONNECTION shortly after entering the home straight and shortly after was taken inwards by that runner resulting in SHINSHINTO, which was racing to the inside being tightened for room.
 
Race 2: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 62 Handicap (POLY TRACK) 1400 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed due to BELLICOSE having to undergo a veterinary examination after becoming fractious once loaded in the barriers.
 
JABALI GOLD – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
ZOU ZOU KACANARKIS – Slow to begin.
 
BELLICOSE - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the barrier and was subsequently cleared to start.
 
WELL WELL WELL – Over raced in the early stages and had to be steadied off heels near the 900 metres.
 
 
Race 3: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed due to delays in the previous events.
 
BROADWATER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for a significant period and was subsequently cleared to start.
 
UPMAN – Jumped awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout.
 
BOOM CIRCUS - Jumped awkwardly.
 
LORD LOUISON - Jumped awkwardly. Held up approaching the home turn and again held up for clear running between the 300 metres and 200 metres point.
 
SWISS ELEMENT – Slow to begin.
 
DAULAT KIITIBAZEBA – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
QUEEN SAFARI – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
HOT SAUCE – Laid in upon entrance to the home straight and was then obliged to steady from the heels of LORD LOUISON which shifted out when not fully clear. The rider of LORD LOUISON, Adam Sewell was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
ROSE OF DUPORTH – Fractious prior to the start being effected. Reared at the start and lost ground.
 
Race 4: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Colts, Geldings and Entires
Class 2 Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 8 minutes due to BOOMBRASTIC requiring a saddle adjustment and also THE KEWESS requiring replating after casting a nearside plate.
 
BOOMBRASSTIC – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting the fence leaving the tie up stalls and was cleared to start. Jumped awkwardly. Held up approaching the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
OURCONI – Slow to begin. Laid out approaching the 600 metres when being restrained.
 
ALLEZ ZOU (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
YOURJOKINGME RIGHT – Lost the off-hind shoe in running.
 
PAPERCLIP – Race wide throughout.
 
THE KEWESS – Raced greenly in the early stages and was then obliged to steady from heels between the 800 metres and the 600 metres.
 
MINT STRIP - Race wide throughout.
 
RAMBLIN' MAN - Obliged to race in restricted room between the 800 and the 600 metres and lost ground as a consequence.
 
Race 5: PARKLANDS TAVERN Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 6 minutes due to the delays in the previous races and to allow a veterinary examination of FINNICKY which became fractious once loaded in the barriers.
 
DRY TIMES – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
FINNICKY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the barrier and was subsequently cleared to start. Connections were advised a warning would placed on the mare. Gave ground over the concluding stages. Rider reported that after obtaining a position on the fence in the early stages the mare did not travell comfortability from the 800 metres and was disappointed in the mare’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to exhibiting a slight cough. Co trainer S. O’Dea advised stewards that he would have an endoscopic examination conducted on the mare and would furnish the report to stewards.
 
ATOUCHOFSYN – Race wide without cover throughout. Rider reported that the mare over-raced for the majority of the event and this had a detrimental effect on its performance.
 
 
Race 6: LIEBKE BUILDERS Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed due to delays in the previous events.
 
A DEVIL'S CHANCE – Rider M. Butler was fined $500 pursuant to 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 8 times prior to the 100 metres which is 3 more than permitted.
 
FRANKEL MOON – Lost the near fore shoe in running.
 
GRAND CHIEF – Slow to begin.
 
STREET FIGHTER – Momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 400 metres.
