Hanson GENERAL Trainer B. Healey was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67 for failing to declare a rider for BRONZE DRAGON engaged in Race 5 by the prescribed time. Trainer T. Haydon was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67 for failing to declare a rider for TYSON’S FURY engaged in Race 5 by the prescribed time. Race 1: 7 DAY SKIPS QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres JAMAICAN RUMBA – Shifted out abruptly approaching the 200m. Shifted in under pressure over the final 100m. When asked to comment on the performance Jockey R. Fradd advised that the colt may have got its tongue over the bit and had concerns with the colt’s action during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Co-Trainer T. Edmonds advised that he would advise stewards the condition of the colt in following days and they would be adding a tongue tie prior to its next start. MIKKI ROSE – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Race 2: CREATIVE STONE Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres QUEEN SWEEPER – Inconvenienced and taken wider by BELISTIC MAN upon entrance to the home straight. VAST KAMA - Inconvenienced and taken wider by BELISTIC MAN upon entrance to the home straight. MINT STRIP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after kicking out in the tie up stall area and was cleared to start. Race 3: CUSTOMISED CAR FINANCE BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres GOLLY HUTT – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Improved onto heels approaching the 800m and shifted out. UNLIKELYOCCURRENCE - Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Cast the off fore plate during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near fore cannon. Race 4: SUNCOAST MARINE ELECTRIAL Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres TINTINWIN (NZ) – Shifted in on jumping and bumped KOLLUR. Over-raced in the early stages. BACK WHEN – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure for a short distance leaving the 300m.DARCHINIAN – Improved onto heels approaching the 200m and was directed out to secure clear running. KOLLUR – Bumped on jumping. EARLY THOUGHTS – Jumped awkwardly. LEORED – Slow to begin. FIGHTING MAD – Hampered shortly after the start. Nearing the 200m was placed in restricted room and had to be checked when DARCHINIAN was directed outwards to secure clear running. Apprentice J. Lloyd the rider DARCHINIAN was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for directing his mount outwards leaving the 200m when insufficiently of FIGHTING MAD resulting in that runner having to be checked by its rider. Apprentice J. Lloyd’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 9/04/22 to midnight 21/4/22. Apprentice J. Lloyd was advised of his right to internal review. Race 5: HEADLAND GLASS Maiden Handicap 1300 metres REGAL EDITION - Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permitted. Ridden accordingly. Steadied from heels approaching 800m when HELL OF A PRINCE shifted out. BRONZE DRAGON – Jumped awkwardly. Shifted out when the pace of the race slackened approaching the 800m. GULF OF ODESSA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When asked to comment on the performance Jockey J. Orman advised that when the pace of the slackened in the middle stages he was obliged to race further back in the field than he anticipated however the gelding was disappointing in its finishing effort. TYSON'S FURY - Connections advised that from the wide barrier the gelding would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permitted. Ridden accordingly. Raced wide throughout. HARMONY REIGNS (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly. HELL OF A PRINCE – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted out when the pace of the race slackened approaching the 800m. Laid in under pressure nearing the 200m and had steadied from heels. FEE – Bumped after the start. Race 6: LOVE & PARTNERS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OPEN Handicap 1000 metres INANUP – Slow to begin. JULE'S SPIRIT – Hampered on jumping. SIR WARWICK – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 800m when racing ungenerously had to be steadied and shifted out bumping TYCOON THUNDER. Held up rounding the home turn. TYCOON THUNDER – Bumped approaching the 800m. Raced in restricted room approaching the 600m. THE TENOR – Blundered on jumping. MORT DOYLE - Raced wide throughout.
