Race 1: CANADIAN CLUB QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Ping – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Coco Jewel – Slow to begin.
 
Torque Espagna – As Jockey R Fradd was delayed due to transport difficulties, stewards permitted T Harrison to ride the filly. Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining cover passing the 600m.
 
Zuri Zuri –Overraced in the early and middle stages.  Passing the 900m had to be restrained after improving onto heels.
 
Race 2: MAKERS MARK BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 1000 metres
 
V J Day (USA) – Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 300m.
 
Superare – Hampered on jumping away and lost ground. Passing the 800m after being contacted, shifted out and away from DARE TO SHARE, carrying CECIL STREET LAD out across the heels of DALTORO. Passing the 700m had to be restrained when racing in restricted room to the inside of DALTORO which shifted in.
 
Daltoro – Laid in throughout the event. Passing the 700m blundered and shifted in, causing tightening to SUPERARE and DARE TO SHARE.
 
Mort Doyle – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Dare To Share – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 700m had to be restrained off the heels of PERFECT AIM after being carried in by SUPERARE, which was carried in by DALTORO which shifted in when insufficiently clear.
 
Cecil Street Lad – Hampered on jumping away and lost ground. Passing the 800m was carried out across the heels of DALTORO and had to be restrained.
 
 
Better Rush – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
 
Perfect Aim – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Race 3: JIM BEAM WHITE Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Harryandthetiger – Hampered passing the 900m. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Phantom Spirit – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out contacting THE RATTLESNAKE. Passing the 900m was hampered and raced in restricted room for a number of strides after being contacted by THE RATTLESNAKE, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Steadied off heels approaching the winning post.
 
Another Spirit – Severely hampered passing the 900m when carried in by HARRYANDTHETIGER, who was carried in by PHANTOM SPIRIT, which was carried in by THE RATTLESNAKE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near foreleg.
 
Zephyr Cruiser – Raced in restricted room passing the 800m.
Better Lad –
 
The Rattlesnake – Hampered on jumping away. Shortly after jumping away, shifted in after having its hindquarters contacted by PHANTON SPIRIT, carrying in PHANTOM SPIRIT in onto HARRYANTHETIGER, which was carried in onto ANOTHER SPIRIT, which had to be restrained off the heels of ZEPHYR CRUISER. Passing the 500m became awkwardly placed on heels.
 
Regal Conqueror – Raced ungenerously under pressure in the straight.
 
Race 4: JIM BEAM BLACK Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Top Bird – Hung out rounding the home turn. Rider reported that the mare weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
World Charmer (NZ) – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Kerrisdale – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Me Mum's Foxy – Slow to begin.
 
Wine Not Roses – Passing the 200m was obliged to alter course and shift out to improve into clear running.
 
Mishani Esprit – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: GRINDERS COFFEE Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed 4 minutes in order to hold for an interstate venue and further delayed by HEART OF MARBLE which required replating behind the barriers.
 
Katdeel – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to being. Held up for clear running from the 600m to the 500m.
 
Introvert – Slow to begin.
 
Virgo Vision – Raced in restricted room passing the 1200m. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Media Hype – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Stealth Flyer – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Miss Fozzy (NZ) – Became awkward in its action passing the 900m.
 
Sheza Firecracker – when questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the mare, Trainer L Birchley stated that at the beginning of this preparation SHEZA FIRECRACKER was a late scratching at the barriers in Mackay resulting in the mare missing a suitable race  which resulted in SHEZA FIRECRACKER starting over a shorter distance at the Sunshine Coast in a 1100m race. He added that the mare had pleased in its work leading into todays race, and starting over a more favourable distance, was not surprised by todays forward showing.
 
Heart Of Marble – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination after being reshod behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Race 6: ROKU GIN Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed owing to the significant delay in the previous race.
 
The Money Spender – Raced ungenerously when attempting to obtain cover passing the 800m.
 
Sweet Wind – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Roses In The Rain – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
Foggy Dew – Held up for clearing on entering the home straight. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.
 
Goodscent – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider reported made an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer reported that he would furnish the results of an endoscopic examination prior to next start.
 
Wicked'n' Lovin'it – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Grandeur Rose – Raced wide throughout the event. Apprentice J Williams was fined $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more then permitted.
 
Last Laugh – Slow to begin.
 
Miss Julelinda – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Swiss Element – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 7: CASCADE ADULT BEVERAGES BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1600 metres
 
Outback Gladiator – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted wider on the track passing the 700m to improve. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.
 
Capodanno – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
First Son – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Seeress – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Sister Kathleen – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Reset's Son – Hampered on jumping away. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 8: MOUNT FRANKLIN Class 1 Plate 1200 metres
 
Argyle Lane – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Lion's Tooth – Approaching the 900m shifted out abruptly while hanging and hung out for the remainder of the event.
 
Mishani Sniper – Rider stated that she could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. Trainer stated that in his opinion that gelding races best when fresh and will be sent for a spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Blue Smartie (NZ) – Restrained from a wide barrier to take up a position closer to the rail.
 
Our Rockin' – Passing the 1100m shifted out abruptly after racing in restricted room to the inside of CHIEF ARTIE, which shifted in. Jockey  Tilley, rider of CHIEF ARTIE, was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a). Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Tesaura – Hampered passing the 1100m when tightened for room. Trainer advised a warning would be placed on the record of the mare in regards to proving difficult to proceed to the barriers.
