Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to put consideration into an objection lodged by A Allen rider of 2nd placegetter, SCHMOOZER against SHOTPUT alleging inference from the 400m to the winning post. After hearing submissions, stewards were of the opinion on straightening SCHMOOZER had established a run on the rail, with SHOT PUT improving into a run to the outside of SCHMOOZER, and to the inside of HE’S THE KING, ridden by M Hellyer. Shortly after straightening, HE’S THE KING commenced to shift in under pressure carrying SHOT PUT in onto SCHMOOZER, resulting in SCHMOOZER having to be restrained.
